I was reading the Ask the Admin threads, and Lanzer said something about eventually auctioning off the items of banned accounts, most notably, their MCs. It would be done lottery style so everyone gets a chance at winning them.
I think it would be a pretty cool system, especially for those questers that want those 03 items. At the same time, it's not an actual re-release of the items so those 03ers won't have to complain as much.
What do you guys think? Oh, and Lanzer said that this month's MCs WILL have hints, and that Timmy-in-the-barrel might have some plot significance. MIGHT. wink

Zombified Timmy from a barrell? That would be awesome.
Anyway, from what I heard from the SF... is that the item "auction" will be more like a raffle, that way it would prevent the richer Gaians from obtaining all the items.
The items from the accounts in question will also come from old bannings, which have done non-nagotiable acts.

As for Timmy, I think he's going to evolve into.... Manbearpig. Nothing will stop him! As for the auctions... I gotta say I am a little disappointed. The admin have said multiple times in the past that they wouldn't ever sell off the items in old accounts. Then again, you know how much the admin's word is worth these days.

Well can you blame them? They are just trying to please people, and if they kept their word every single time, they wouldn't be able to try innovative things... This isn't a matter of blaming them or not blaming them. Their actions have lost my trust, I've been one of those banned people before, and for no good reason. You try and correct that situation and you go unanswered. An item of yours disappears via market place, you try and contact someone? too bad. And I'm not really so certain that everyone at gaia is out to "please people" anymore... seems more or less trying to keep people happy and their wallets open. Oh... and for the record, I have yet to see them keep their word a single time... So, basically, yes I could blame them... but I choose to be a bit more objective than that. Not that blame has anything to do with distrust, you do something wrong, you do something wrong... regardless the reasons. But, I'm not trying to sound snappy or that I'm really upset with the admins or you, or anyone over this point. Like I said earlier I "dislike" the admins... just a simple statement. *Shrugs* Then again, they could just be fine, and its my experiences with them... well mine and quite a few other people I know. But *shrugs* I believe I'm borderline rambling now ;o

If I didn't personally know people who's been unfairly banned, maybe I'd be okay with this.The admins say they'll be giving away the items of accounts that were banned years ago, that were never tried to be recovered. I do agree that all these bannings have taken lots of items out of the system, but... I can't say they're doing the right thing.

Meh, TV programs, movies and most media often say things like that. It's just a way to wield suspense, mystery etc etc into plots or the like.
And Gaia has changed a lot since it said such and such.

You never know, this could be the 20 year plot, but they just played it out badly or had a sketchy idea in the first place.
