I need to look at some good boarding schools that are not alternative schools, but for 'gifted' students. Ones that are ahead in things like English...But none that need stellar performance in Math (i mean like being a class ahead. I'm only a grade ahead in english. I suck at math, but i can work at it being an A class. Justn ot stellar...) I just need a good boarding school. Hopefully all girl.

Meh, silly! You should be less concerned with schools imo. Sure school can be important, but you shouldn't push yourself too too far o.o Plus your free time will go PFFT! Right out the window!

I've never considered going to a boarding school, but currently, I am trying to get into an all-girls T.A.G.-like private school. And I haven't even looked at my applications yet! =[

I hate my school, but I love the people in it. Wouldn't you miss your friends if you went to a different one?

Butbutbut. I want to go to a prestigious academy. I'm OCD about my future and my present. Last time I slipped up I went from 96's to 50's. I'm not going there again. If I do that again I'll die. D: I hated that. I hated myself for it. It's my wish. I justh ave to find a good one. A very good one. And a boarding school at that.

Honestly, don't worry too much about school. You can still survive happily without it. Although highschool makes life much easier, don't stress out too much. As far as college goes, pish posh! Unless you wanna be president or sumthin' screw it.

Actually I have to say that I've always wanted to go to a boarding school. It's not like I particularly hate my parents are anything, they just sound nice.
Well.... I googled it and it came up with.... Bruton School for Girls. It looks nice so far :3

Apathetic Sin, I understand that for some people, school isn't very important. It's good of you to be encouraging Volatile to look at things from a less depressive view. However, it feels as if you're not entirely seeing her point of view. If school is very important to Volly and she feels that she needs to be in a boarding school in order to relax about her future, then it is definitely something that she should look into. College can also be very important to some people as well because it can be a necessary parts of our futures.
Volly, if you're looking into boarding schools, you might try just googling ones with something like "Language Arts Based Boarding School" or something to that effect. There are definitely ones that exist with a strong emphasis in English, but boarding schools are a very personal thing. It's not something that we can really help you to chose. Once you find two or three that you think might work, perhaps you could e-mail someone from the school to talk about your situation. That way, you'll know for sure if the school might work for you.
I always thought boarding school would be fun to try, just to get some experience in being away from home. But [I'm pretty sure I have] separation anxiety disorder, which would have prevented me from having a good time during my school years. I hope it works out amazingly for you!

The only boarding schools I know are the really prestigious sort that you'd have to pay a really substantial sum of money just to even have a chance of getting into, so I'm not much help. XD
Unfortunately, other than those few, I really have no knowledge on boarding schools. A friend of mine goes to one, but its co-ed and I'm not really sure whats its emphasis is. Are you looking for something close to home - y'know, within a few states? xD

There's actually a pretty good boarding school on the Cranbrook Educational Community campus in Oakland County, Michigan. Ranked as one of the top schools in the courtry for science and English. Let me find some linkage... http://schools.cranbrook.edu/school/upper/Might not be exactly what you're looking for and might be a bit far away for you, but it's supposed to be one of the best schools period. This is just to give you a taste of the expenses and what high-class boarding schools are like.

i don't see why people have been so critical about your decision to change schools. students can have a say in what type of education they desire, and whether they prefer to go to a public school, a boarding school, or home school.
however, i would hope that your decision to change schools is based on a sincere interest in a boarding school, rather than a decision to avoid a current situation. changing schools at times can present a new start and a different change in scenarios. however, there are issues in regards to students, relationships, grades, and teachers that present in all types of schools and a boarding school environment doesn't necessarily guarantee success, especially since all forms of education can provide for potential opportunities. however, if this is a program you're truly interested in, and you can convince your parents to support you in your decision, then i think you should definitely pursue your desire to attend a boarding school.
