Zombies are not the walking dead.
Zombies are not Inferi, yes, that is the actual name.

Zombies ARE dead people who has been recently killed and basically started eating peoples flesh and their only objective is to do that.
After a few hours of being dead, rigamortus sets in and they start to walk rigidly.
People who are eaten are completely dead, they don't come back to life at all.
People who have been bitten are okay until they die, once cell regeneration stops the virus/whateverthehellitis takes over and they become a zombie them selfs.
Animals CANNOT become zombies, as zombies ONLY go after humans as they need their flesh to stay, well, alive in their own half dead way.
If they do not eat Human Flesh, they start to deteriorate and waste away.
To prevent people who have died from coming back to life as a zombie, one must burn the bodies.
You can also kill Zombies with a shot to the brain.
No intelligent limbs ಠ_ಠ

The brain dammit the brain!

The brain is what brings the corpse back to life. Severing the spinal column or damaging and or removing the brain is what kills it.

I hate movies that let headless zombies run about or have talking heads or intelligent severed limbs.

There are many variations of zombies, from night of the comet, talking and firearm-wielding dead to resident evil's can't-feel-a-thing, no vocal noises besides moaning/snarling, stumbling zombies. (probably the best kind) A shot to the head doesn't neccesarily mean instant death, either. If it was black magic, not science fiction that made them, You could blow off the entire upper area of the body and it could keep coming. (it would most likely be harmless, but it depends on the necromancer) ...That might justify "intelligent limbs". Sci-fi may own zombies now, but it supposedly began in cuba with (like many paranormal beliefs) with "magic". I think they use sci-fi as a monster maker to make it more realistic, the closer to truth a story is, the scarier. As for infection, it ranges from dawn of the dead's 10 second rule to NEVER being fully infecting you. (weak virus, antibodies, no virus or means of spreading to begin with, ect.)

*deep breath* Any questions?

As for the invasion, if I wasn't eaten in the first few minutes, and they were'nt the run-at-you-as-fast-as-possible-in-huge-numbers type of zombie, I'd attack with baseball bats or sharp objects. XD

If zombies attacked RIGHT NOW... hmm...

I'm in my grandparents bedroom, on their computer. It is on the first floor. The computer and desk are surrounded by windows and glass doors, as I am in the den/sun room. If they came through the door, which is approximatly 15 feet away, I would go through one of the glass doors right next to me and RUN. If they came through the windows, I would get out of the house by running down the hallway, and turning to the right to get to the door. If they came through both the windows AND the door, I'm screwed. I could possibly lock myself in the master bathroom, but they could climb over the wall. It is not quite it's own room, since there is only half a ceiling in the bathroom. I'll try to get pictures. But, I could possibly grab my sword, which my grandpa just gave me, and cut off all their zombie heads! xd

Notice how easily you can climb into the bathroom

If we are talking about movie zombies then there is really only one type. George A Romero created the first zombie movie and its horror genre. Since then various other types of zombies have been made.

Zombies in say 28 day/weeks are not really zombies. They are rage infected humans that can survive major damage to their bodies because they are fueled by adrenaline. They dont always eat the people either just claw beat and rip at them any way they can. They are fast because again of the adrenaline. No dead bodies come back to life just attacked people become infected.

Most zombies are caused by some sort of chemical pollutant or virus that reanimates the brain. A meteor that brings the reanimating is some sort of space virus, much like what happened in the Marvel Zombie comic book series. They were intelligent and spoke and thought like normal. Just ate people and looked rotten.

Okay, I am a zombie expert. And by expert, I mean that I have studied zombies to the point that one would study something in school to get a degree in it. And continue to study them. I probably always will. They're one of the only two things that truly scare me. And as that, I honor them.

First of all, there are many types of zombie. And you kinda have them all mashed into one creation that you seem to have made up. I'm going to correct this for you.

Zombies can be walking corpses. I'm sorry but, regardless of what anyone says, George Romero is the zombie god. He may not have been the first to make a movie about them, certainly wasn't the last, but it was his movies that made the zombie craze what it is today.

People who are eaten can come back, it just depends on how eaten they are. I'd say, according to most zombies, as long as the brain is intact, they can come back.

People who have been bitten are usually okay until they die, but that's depending on where they are bitten. For instance, a bite to the throat will probably instantly turn them.

As for animals, again, depends on the type. A Dan O'Bannon (Return of the Living Dead series) zombie can be human or animal. He's pretty well known in the field as well, because everyone thinks his movies are sequels to Night of the Living Dead.

Zombies don't deteriorate if they don't eat flesh. Since they are dead, eating flesh probably doesn't provide them with sustenance. I'd assume they deteriorate whether they eat it or not, however, since dead things do decay. Also, they'd probably decay faster than a normal body, since they're exposed to the elements as opposed to being buried.

Shooting them in the head/destroying the brain should be adequate to stop all zombie-ness. Burning isn't necessary. And would probably be a bad idea if you were in a zombie infested world. Unless you plan to keep moving. Then, I'd say burning as you go might not be too bad of an idea.

All of that aside, I don't have a plan anymore. I used to have a very well thought out one, but then the people who were included in it bailed on me, so I kinda have to wing it. I'm working on a new one. So far, all I have is: Survive long enough to get to the giant apartment buildings Up in the mountains near my house, and figure out a way to destroy the staircases. As long as I have a rope ladder, there's no need for staircases. Then, figure out what to do from there.
(Additional note: In case of zombie attack, many people use the zombie survival guide as the ultimate source of knowledge, however remember that the book is satire, and has some misleading information in it. I've read it and don't fully agree with it. It was a pretty good read though. Also, none of my information comes from it, unless it's the common sense stuff.)

No Land of the Dead is a Romero film if you watched the original Dawn of the Dead they touch on the subject of Bub. A zombie a scientist had noticed and was teaching the zombie of the things it had forgot.

Land of the Dead is the continuation of that idea the zombies after enough time relearn or just acknowledge the idea of weapons and other things that had happened in the movie.
