First off, official OOC notes.

Characters: All NSA children are allowed to participate in this RP.

Children that have been here for a long time -- You have come on a called ordered by yourself. And, yeah, yeah, Ruriska, you guardians that are still around could have muscled your way in too. Expect an appropriate IC response.

Those children who have NOT been here awhile are to assume that they've been participating with the NSA for a minimum of two months. Yes, I know, it's quite a leap. Assume you were training the whole time, getting to know your trainers, etc. Please indicate in this RP how long you have been around.

The exception is LoQuinn, because of his experience, he only has to be around for a minimum of a week. Again, lufa, let me know how long he's been around. He would NOT have been training with Photon, but likely with Darebone (Susan). Notice, Photon isn't even here yet. Neither is Flashcharge. One tends to never show up EVER (up until recently, he's been apparently MIA) and the other is in Africa fighting a war.

Basis of the Meeting All the characters have been given coal by the NSA (please feel free to include coal actually granted to you -- Ace's is the one that ninja so wonderfully gave SSH!). Charles is panicking over the safety of it and wants the kids around to watch the original ones open up so they can react accordingly and decide what to do with them. Everyone is allowed to RP creatures that come out, but only those that actually receive them OOCly can keep any.

The date is two Saturdays before Christmas This is why Darebone is ticked. It's also why she brought a box of F.C. and D.B. outfits to put on them when they emerge (hatch?).

The means Is the hologram-technology that Jim developed. Everyone actually has coal with them in their own rooms (for the older members) or the training rooms (for the newer members), but these people are not actually together. It looks and FEELS that way (think Star Trek's holodeck), but that is not the actual case. Activating powers is a BAD, BAD no-no.

Questions should be asked in the Main Thread in the B/C shops.

I THINK I covered everything, but I could have overseen something.

Charles had gone overboard this time.

Stop snickering.

I mean it, he's really done it now.

Charles confiscated some of the earlier coal created by this Silver Shane character and had is distributed out to those individuals that he trusted. He took Darebone's word on the day the "critters" would emerge from the coal, a date inconveniently on a Saturday in December, and demanded a meeting through their holographic communication system (HCS). This would enable them to see the emergence of the critters and discuss what actions should be taken about them.

The room the NSA members would find themselves in was a large, unimaginative meeting room with white walls, a large brown table, and absolutely nothing else. Very exciting. Just like Charles' social life, we may all safely assume.

When the first of the recruits arrived, (s)he would go unnoticed at first. Susan was standing two inches from Charles, giving him absolute what-for, "You trust me as to when they'll come out and that Annie," Susan indicated the 6-inch bunny that was nestled comfortably in her arms and seemingly unaware of the argument,
"is safe. You trust me enough to allow children to keep them. WHY must you ruin everyone's holiday plans and make them come here!?! I bet you didn't even consider that we'd all be busy. You are the most inconsi---"

It was 16 year old Ace, who had been rolling the coal he had back and forth, who noticed those who had come in. He jumped up and grinned, "Hey!! How are you doing?"

Jim, Ace's father, swung around, guilty for Susan at having been caught in lecturing their boss. "Thank you for coming on such short notice."

"And for canceling your plans," Susan almost hissed, but then turned around with a smile.

Charles nodded coolly to the arrivals.

Boy. Tension already. This was going to be fun.

"ACE!!!" Spriggin almost literally jumped upon the only other kid in the room. "I haven't seen you in OMG so long!!! We went on a trip to England so I could see my home and it was so cool and stuff. I got to see Stonehenge and Leeds Castle and I took lots and lots of pictures!" She flopped down into the seat next to him after giving him a big hug. "So whatcha been doing since I've been away?" The teen started passing her bit of coal from hand to hand, getting progressively higher and higher. As a testament of her continued training, it got pretty high before it plopped right into her lap.

Joshua showed up with a grin just after, he looked a lot more healthy around the gills now; actually being outside had been very good to him and he looked incredibly relaxed. Even so, he also had a look to him as if he was itching to get back to work... he had been away from his beloved computers for too long. "Heya Jim, hows things been? Charles? Nothing blown up yet? Oh and Susan, what a pleasure surprise." He liked the super who had quite an amiable personality. Shortly after his arrival, Joshua brought out his laptop and started tapping at the keys. A few colours crept into the room, just small minute changes, chairs became a little more comfortable, walls because a little more cheery and less stalk and more importantly, christmas decorations. "There we go... much better." he grinned and laid back in his chair pleased with his handywork. "Man... I missed this job."

LoQuinn entered sheepishly. He still hadn't gotten used to the fact that he'd been inducted into what could potentially be the COOLEST place he'd ever imagined. His powers had grown some even in the short ammount of time he'd been here. Practice with 'Susan' had been going relatively smoothly. They'd had a talk about his previous training, his weaknesses and strengths. However this was a 'party' of sorts or at least thats how Susan had sugar coated the idea of a meeting so close to Christmas. It wasn't like he had anywhere else to go or anyone to spend his time with.

As he waited for the celebrations to commence, or a lecture to start he continued with his practice. He was currently attempting to keep a ball bearing sized chunk of concrete he'd managed to sneak out of practice levitating in a circular orbit around his forehead. He focused on the distance and timing more than anything else, trying to make the exercise in will something of a second nature. His goggled eyes shifted to the other individuals in the room, people he didn't know on account of his freshly being caught. The concrete passed in front of his eyes, drawing his attention long enough to fix it's orbit once more.

Jasmine traced her fingers over the rough surface of the coal for about the millionth time since she had entered the building, doing it again once she entered the room. The girl’s usually sunny-looking clothes had been replaced by a series of draping, rich-maroon hand-me-downs from her aunt, complete with a cream-white scarf that looked like it was hand-woven ages ago. She had kept her trusty sketchbook at her side, seeing a few people that she did not recognize. Even though her training had been going along smoothly for the past two months, but she still couldn’t control her voice. She glanced around. They said it would be a meeting, but the fresh Christmas decorations made it look a little more of a party. Her eyes drifted around the room, seeing the serious-aired Charles, who had welcomed her to this new world of supers. Since he looked a little too pre-occupied by an argument for a formal hello, she gave the man a small wave before sitting down in one of the chairs and looking around and analyzing the people already there.

Maybe I can go now…

The girl shook her head. No! Her mother had asked her to meet new people here, since she had still not been able to communicate much with the people in her school. But how freaked out would she be if someone just came up and started writing to her? She decided it would be much easier to communicate if someone approached her.

A meeting two days before Christmas? Well, that wasn’t so bad; it wasn’t like he had anything better to do. Raleigh took a quick look around the room when he arrived, noting the new faces. He certainly wasn’t well acquainted with anyone here, except Charles and Darebone. Giving them all a cursory check he then dismissed them from his thoughts for the time being and took a seat.

Receiving a piece of coal from the NSA seemed like some corny joke. You’ve been a bad boy this year Raleigh! But he was interested all the same.

Where Raleigh was his usual contained self Ruriska was extra bubbly. As far as she was concerned this was a Christmas party and it was shame they couldn’t be there in person so she could give everyone presents. Oh well. She’d sent Susan and Charles cards at least. Dressed in red and green Ruri gave Raleigh a ‘go socialize’ look (which was completely ignored) and then wandered over to where the adults were standing.

“It’s been a while.” She winked at Susan and then glanced around the room. “This set up is pretty impressive.”

Ooc: I really don’t like this post. XD Oh well!

Candice actually recognized one of the new entrants to the room. She squinted at Raleigh until she could put a name to the face before realizing she never knew it... unless... Squinting some more she remembered a few years ago when she had broken her leg... something about seeing him around while chatting with Erol at school. Ahh yes! There might have been dinner invitations, though she couldn't remember who had been inviting who. Twirling back and forth on her chair she suddenly remembered the name... "Heya Raleigh! How ya doing over there?" A grin followed, she wasn't quite she he'd remember her but it'd be funny if he did.

Coal? What the hell was he suppose to do with something like this? He had an idea to chuck the blasted thing through NSA windows and call it a day. Someone in that screwy outfit needed to seek help, posthaste. Even so, Erol had his obligations and sadly NSA was first to his love of playing the guitar and singing in front of a small crowd of people.

He snuffed his cigarette on the outside of the door as he stared it down. Opening the door the smoke billowed out first before he stepped through glaring madly into the room. Looking out over his glasses he noted Charles and the rest of them, namely the adults. Scanning about the room he saw new faces; no doubt the next test subjects for NSA to screw with. Another quick scan brought familiar faces in his line of vision which he glared at one and allowed a mild smirk for the other.

Walking over he figured being social was the only way to go. Maybe if he found out what was going on he could leave just as quickly. Stepping up just behind Raleigh he leaned on the boy's back practically climbing on top of him. "Long time no see, b***h." he spoke to Ra before turning to Candice, "Same to you, minus the b***h though." He half chuckled pushing harder against Raliegh's back.

Hearing his name Raleigh looked up and focused on Candice. With a small frown on his face he tried to figure out exactly where she knew him from and if he could remember her name. Since she knew him they must have must at some point in time but he was at a complete loss. You would think he would remember someone who was so… bright.

“I’m sorry; I have no idea who you are.”

Raleigh hadn’t noticed Erol’s arrival, though when he suddenly had the guy leaning all over him he somehow managed to keep all traces of surprise from his face, not that the guy would have been able to see from his position but there appearances to keep up. Erol; possibly the only person Raleigh had actually wanted to see, though now that he was here he was beginning to wonder why. He was bent forward a bit with the weight and then squared his shoulders, pushing backwards.

“Not long enough. Too bad you didn’t loose some weight during that interval.” He drawled, turning his head slightly so he could see Erol from the corner of his eyes. There was a light smirk on his lips. Well, now the fun began.

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Words to live by, for some anyway. LoQuinn wasn't particularly religious but he could take some things at their intrinsic value. He might have been brought here for the little bundle of coal he'd kept concealed in his pants pocket, however networking was always a good practice. Heroes had to stick together in some vague fashion, partnerships and all that jazz. Much as LoQuinn enjoyed his solitude he realized what with recent happenings he'd be better off with someone watching his back.

He eyed a younger girl. Her clothing was a bit mismatched for LoQuinn's fashion sense. However his neon green goggles (despite being inside) wasn't exactly what he expected would put him on the cover of Vogue anytime soon. Clothes didn't make the Super after all. He walked over to the girl, oblivious that he still had a chip of concrete floating around his head.

Allowing himself a friendly smile he almost wished he had a glass of punch to sip before he started introductions. "I'm the Graveler. You are?"

Twin boys shyly entered the room, glancing about warily. Keagan was the first to enter, with his brother only a few steps behind him and holding both pieces of coal. "You forgot yours." Kaden muttered as he handed one of the pieces off to the other boy.

Keagan grinned and waved at Susan, the only person in the room either boy recognized. There were some others around their age about, but in their time spent training with Susan, neither boy had met any of them.

Kaden overheard LoQuinn introducing himself and leaned closer to Keagan to mutter. "We should come up with a nickname... Something cool. All the Supers have them..."

The other twin frowned. That would require thinking. But, they did need a cool name. Maybe Susan could help them? She was pretty smart... for a girl.

Jasmine slowly looked up as LoQuinn walked towards her and introduced himself. Graveler? As in the Pokemon? She smiled at the thought, reaching for her sketchbook and removing the cream scarf around her neck and placing in on the chair.
“I’m Jasmine, a.k.a…” The girl stopped writing. This guy came up with a cool super name that he used, so what was hers? Thinking quickly, she remembered the Greek Nymph that was cursed by Hera to only repeat people’s sentences. She turned back to writing. “Echo. Nice to meet you.”

Giving the small ball of rock in the air, she smiled, adding down a small comment. “Does that little ball happen to be Rock Slide?”

Jasmine- Echo now- smiled again at her naming-creativity as she showed the book to Graveler. Maybe she should write for a living. Her eyes glanced again, seeing a new set of people walking into the room. It was getting to be a little too crowded for her taste. Jasmine fumbled over her coal again in a nervous haste.

Erol glared in mock annoyances, it was indeed a good sight to see Raleigh once more. Perhaps they could get into some trouble and make Charles think about pulling such silly pranks as coal for Christmas but then what was the deal with this coal anyway? He eyed Ra for a moment before speaking, "Are you mocking me? I'm not overweight I'll have you know." He beamed stepping back from Ra to allow him space. "Besides not all of us can train 24/7 like some giant green man with an attention span of 2 seconds."

"Anyway, what have you been up to lately?" It seemed as though he had forgotten Candice for the time being but he didn't, turning to give her a smile and a wink; indicating his question was also directed to her.
PostPosted: Tue Nov 27, 2007 3:00 am

Charles rose to his feet and cleared his throat. He waited for the talk to hush before he started talking.

"Good day, everyone," he smiled. "Thank you all for coming on such short notice. It is truly appreciated. There is a small matter that could potentially be a nation-wide threat."

Susan shot him a glare. Charles just ignored it as he continued. "I don't know how many of you have followed the news these past few weeks. If you have, you might have heard of Silver Shane. This young man's real name is Robbie Watts and he is an evolved. His power consists out of creating lumps of coal," at this, he motioned to the lumps of coal everyone was carrying, "which, or so he says, 'evolve' into something. Today the very first batch of these will hatch and I've called you all here to help us evaluate this potential threat and-- if necessary-- you will be employed in the effort to withdraw these from the stores."

Charles held back a sigh. "Yes, Susan?" She had been glaring quite formidably at Charles.

"Thank you, Charles," she told him coolly and then smiled a bit more warmly at everyone in the room, inclining her head a bit at Keagan and Kaden before her gaze wandered further.

"I do not believe these critters will be very threatening. Robbie has shown me and explained to me what will happen and I have full confidence in him. According to him, the critters that will emerge will be like pets, except they will not need any nourishment or sleep, they merely need a human touch to awaken and the absence of it to turn back into coal. I do not think these will be a threat at all."

"Be that as it may," Charles announced, "We will have the chance to judge this for ourselves, since this first batch is supposed to evolve within the next thirty to sixty minutes. Please remain vigilant."

"Let's just have fun," Susan added, "Seeing how you've all made the effort to come here."

The room shimmered and expanded a bit, giving a bit more room. Two double sofas appeared as well as a table richly covered in all kinds of yummy foods.

Susan laughed. "Thank you, Jim!" she called out to nothing in particular. "Let's have fun!" she repeated again, smiling at everyone.

She smiled, always a good sign when making introductions. If she'd noticed he'd not actually used his real name only his alias. He'd let the other Supers and the NSA do their own research in order to find out who he was. He wasn't as free with his most valuable asset as some were.

When she pulled out a sketchpad he wondered if perhaps she was mute or deaf. That idea however was put to rest the moment she revealed her alias, and her statement about the chunk of cement floating around. She had powers that undoubtedly had something to do with sonic waves, her voice or something therein. He made a mental note to never get in a shouting match with her.

"It's very nice to meet you Echo," he said using her title instead of her name. It was more likely they'd be partners first and friends second. That was how most working relationships went afterall. "And this?" he said raising a finger to the piece of cement, "this is a training device. Otherwise known as piece of Portland cement."

He pulled his hand down and the pebble followed, levitating a few inches above his finger. It began to rotate quickly on it's axis. He didn't need to look at it, he'd been absently playing with this particular bit for long enough to give it some of his own power signature. A kind of transfered magnetism in a sense.

He had planned on showing off some more, but his train of thought was interrupted by Charles and his fears. LoQuinn returned the stone to it's orbit and reached his hand into his pocket, withdrawing the lump of coal. Ever since he'd gotten it he'd wanted to use his powers to play with it despite Susan's lectures. Breathing life from the inanimate, not a bad concept. LoQuinn could make a pile of dirt and move it like a puppet but that was about as far as things went.

"I see you got one of these too." he said turning back to Echo after Charles and Susan had finished.
