While they loved and supported Fiona, Mike and Diane Sonu had been having this discussion for several weeks now and had finally come to a conclusion they both agreed on. Fiona was a fire evolved. She was afraid of fire. They had just recently seen a documentary that scared them. Explosive evolveds had the tendency to -- self-destruct -- or even accidently destroy others. They loved Fiona, and they did not, did not want her or anyone around her hurt. They wanted the best help for her possible.
So they did the best thing they knew to do, they called the contact person for the National Supers Agency, the one that could tell them where the nearest training school for her was. It so happened that there was a school that was about an hour's drive from where they lived that did take in young evolveds to be trained. Fiona would be interviewed at her house by a trainer, and then he would move her location from her current school to the new one. He'd make sure she had the necessary transportation there and back as well.
It was going to make some long, long days for Fiona, but something had to be done. She'd already gone four years without any sort of training, and that was dangerous. She needed help.
Today was the day of that interview. A young man named Andrew McFadden would be coming to the house to speak with her.
As a matter of fact, he was here, now knocking at the door, now being invited in, now being left to speak with Fiona alone.
Andy grinned at the teenager after introductions were made, "Ya got some trustin' parents, kid. So, fire is it? Man, I got powers like that. Kinda scary, ain't it?" He asked.

Fiona smiled nervously at Andrew. She wanted help but some of the things her parents had told her had made her nervous. They never were ones to exaggerate. Well at least her mother wasn't, she was prone to understating. To avoid having a panic attack she popped in a new game she had gotten and played that all night. Now she was sleepy and nervous, but also excited at even having the slightest of chances to perhaps get rid of some of her fear.
"Yeah, it is scary, but I've sort of gotten used to it...." she piped. She was beginning to wish that she had also gotten something to eat as well, for her stomach let out a grumble causing her to blush.

Andy chuckled a bit at her stomach. "Are ya hungry then? Don't let me stopping ya from getting something to eat," he laughed. "Wouldn't want to accidently set the place on fire, would ya?"
"Gotten used to it? How long have you been practising with them?" Andy asked curiously.

"It's okay, I'll just pig out at a fast food place later." Fiona replied, her smile a little less nervous. Besides she needed a reason to get out of the house later.
"I've sort of gotten used to it but I rarely try and use it." She began to explain. "I've been practicing for a few years now but with nothing larger then a lighter flame. I'm to scared to do anything bigger."

"Hmmm," Photon tapped his chin in thought. "And have you never had the urge to try something larger? Your body never tried to get beyond that? No loss of control?" He was studying Fiona, but did so in a way that wasn't immediatly obvious. He wasn't completely focused on her, had looked her into the eyes when he or she spoke, but his eyes did wander around the room ocasionally, taking in a vase there, or a carpet or painting there. He did turn back and gave his full attention whenever Fiona would speak.

The question made Fiona fidget a bit. Of course she had urges to try something larger. And she did very rarely when no one was looking and she was alone, give in to them.
"Well... Umm... I have had some urgings..." she began again. "And well... I have tried a few things larger then a lighter. But only once or twice when no one was around to get hurt!" She was always afraid her parents would find out, but she didn't want to keep anything back that could hinder her from getting stronger and overcoming her fear.

Andy shook his head, "The worse thing ya can do is hold back. But your sayin' that if you had a safe place you might try something more?" He asked, "I bet if you did that, ya wouldn't feel so outta control at times." No one had said anything to him that indicated that she ever felt out of control, but Andy knew how it was, and what might go unsaid. He assumed, seeing her concern, that she'd at least worried about losing control. "Do you want that?"

When Andy mentioned feeling out of control surprise passed over Fiona's face. She had never mentioned that, and a lot of the times she never knew if it was from normal stress or the stress of being an evolved and trying to keep it a secret. Could he read her mind....? No he would have know lots more stuff he he did. Then the other thing he mentioned hit her.
"I-is there really a safe place for me to practice?!" she stammered getting all excited. If there had been any flames nearby they would have jumped up into the air. Thankfully, her parents had learned to keep everything electrical with no fire what so ever. "I would love to go to a place like that!"

Andy chuckled, "Indeed there is, my dear. That is why I'm here. I'm from an agency that helps train young evolveds to keep their powers under control. And, if you choose, perhaps more than that. You would like that then? When d'ya wanna start?"
Andy too looked excited at the idea. This was going to be fantastic!!

Fiona squirmed excitedly in her seat, no more getting excited and making the kitchen nearly burn down for her! She could finally live a normal life! Err.... Semi-normal anyways. "I would love to do that! I'll start as soon as possible!"
Any previous engagements she had planned were blown out the window. Thankfully she didn't have anyone to blow off, her parents rarely let her go over others houses and she hated inviting people over.

Andy laughed and nodded, "Very well, how about now? We're only a half hour drive from a facility. I won't be your trainer, but today I have all the time in the world. I see if I can't getta hold of someone special," he winked, "A fire evolved too, that I think you might like to meet. M'be she'll help train ya up some too."
OOC: Which reminds me, when I approved your character, I meant to put a disclaimer on the approval. We have a person that was going to be a villain, but we've decided to make a hero instead, that has fire abilities that manifest the same way you said Fiona's would, or very similar. We had her created quite some time before you sent your character in, but I forgot to let you know. I think she'll like FireSnare...who might be a boy and not a girl, but... eh. . .I dunno, I have to recheck.

"Is it really that close?" Fiona asked surprised. She had no idea that help was so close, if she had known she probably would have sneaked out to go there. Of course now she was being invited there and she was going to start her training with Andy and this special person! "I can't wait to meet 'em!"
Then she remembered her family. "Oh wait what about my parents? Should I go tell them now?" She was already halfway out of her seat ready to go find them.

Andy laughed again, "Yeah, tellin' your folks might be a good idea. Come on!"
When Fiona had come back from telling her friends, Andy was on the phone with his. He smiled and waved to her to follow him and hopped into the car.
The training facilities were in the basement of an insurance company. Go figure. Andy waved her in, monologuing about safety procautions that must be followed and how secrecy was important. yadda, yadda. All that official stuff.
Then he took a breath, "Jackie should be here soon. So, do you need a flame, or are you a spontaneous starter?" He'd already fished a firelighter out of his pocket, and was waving the newspaper he'd picked up on their way in front of it.

Training heros in the basement of an insurance company's basement? So they aren't all evil! Fiona listened carefully to all the official stuff Andy was saying carefully. He might be used to it but she didn't want to screw up on her first day there.
"I need a flame to start with." she answered. "Lighters are usually what I work with anyways." She wondered who Jackie was but didn't voice it. She guessed it was this special person he was talking about earlier.

Andy turned on the lighter with a smirk, "So what sort of---Ahhh! JACKIE!!" The flame Andy had made had gotten huge and turned into a whip in front of him, moving as if to smack him, but stopping right before it did.
"Who's Jackie? And you're an idiot! You're just going to offer flame to some kid who doesn't know what she's doing?" A woman superhero that was just beginning to be known stepped down from the doorway. Firesnare, the lady that could expand and contract fire, and control it in it's contracted form.
"You burnt out the lighter." Andy whined.
"But not you. Be grateful." She turned to Fiona and nodded, moving the contracted fire toward her, "I'm sorry. You are Fiona?"
