Yudoku walked along through the forest of her tribe lands with her mate along side her. She couldn't imagine how nervous he must have been feeling. After all, this meeting would have a major effect on their future. "I smell them nearby," she said to Orion after she caught the scents of Ari and Kazuki. "They're not too far up ahead."

Orion gave a slight nod. "I'm just glad you know your way around here." He glanced around, taking in all the new scenery. He was trying to keep his mind off his nervousness. He hoped so badly that the elders would approve of Yudoku and his relationship. Orion walked on in silence.

Kazuki was sitting near Ari. He gave a faint yawn and stretched a bit. Then he glanced at Ari it was just a little before sunset and so he was very tried still. He seemed to glare at Ari and then just sighed shaking his head. Of all the times to have a meeting. He fidgeted greatly his tail swishing in annoyance. It was bad enough as is having the kits keeping them running around but now this. (Mind you this is taking place after the PRP time alone where the kits are born)
Kazuki didn't like to be this annoyed and whiny but it happens when you give birth and don't get sleep. Soon enough two scents filled his nose. He looked up expectantly. Finally they were here the sooner he could catch some precious sleep. He saw the leaves in a bush rustling and he sat up and cleared his throat, which was dry due to him having been asleep about a minute or two ago. He quickly tried to clean up sighing in annoyance at some of the bed fur he had until finally the couple arrived. He straightened up and smiled.
"Welcome you two and especially to you new comer" Kazuki again continued to smile when really he was thinking of his warm cave and his mate. He ignored the burning in his cheeks.

As Orion stepped out of the forest, he saw the two elders and gave a bow to before speaking. "Hello, and thank you," he said confidently, although he felt quite nervous. Orion raised his head and smiled. This fox seemed to be friendly enough. Orion began to relax a little.

"I am Ari, and this is Kazuki. And you would be...?" Ari, like Kazuki, was tired out from trying to keep up with the five kits. Five of them. Sigal had been enough of a handful, diurnal and hyper as she was. But there had been only one of her to keep an eye on.
Of course they had carers to watch the kits, but...Well, Ari would rather be the one raising them himself. Even if it lead to him being so tired like this.

"It's nice to meet you both. I'm Orion of the Enigma tribe." He was feeling much better about this meeting already. These elders seemed like agreeable foxes. Orion turned to Yudoku and paused for a moment before looking back to the elders. "We have come to seek your blessing of our union." He got right to the point.

(Well, ya basically left me with nothin to say, lol. XD Dang school nights.)
Yudoku nodded in agreement with what Orion had said. "We have been seeing each other for a while now and have grown to love each other very dearly," she added, pressing up lightly against the male as she said this. "And nothing would please us more than to receive the blessing of our tribes' elders." She finished what she had to say and noted to herself that the two elders looked really tired. Hmm, I wonder why they are so tired so early into the night. Did they not sleep well?
(*is oblivious about her elders kits* XD She hasn't really seen them much since Ari was Emo and Kazuki just came back, lol. XP *shot*)

Kazuki only sighed in agitation. This is why the elders had been woken up for?! A joining of two foxes. Then after a moment his mind finally understood that the male was not from their tribe. At this his eyes narrowed. Did Yudoku not see what happened when foxes mate with those outside the tribe?! Kazuki should up straight and huffed.
"Yes but how are your sleeping patterns, Orion was it?" Kazuki moved forward slightly to take a closer look at the male. Then he took a sniff as well. He smelled of the morning dew.
"You do not seem to follow the laws of the night and are a daywalker unlike those of our tribes. How will you both spend time together if one sleeps during the day and the other at night? Better yet how will your kits react?" He huffed again. Seriously what were they thinking had they no brain? Kazuki's brain he mused, was tired and in need of rest. He huffed a bit annoyed by the young lings and their crazy mating ideas.

Although Kazuki certainly hadn't phrased his concerns in the nicest way, Ari was in complete agreement. He knew first hand of the problems caused when a diurnal fox mated with a nocturnal one.
"Kazuki is right. Yudouku, I'm sure you remember Sigal?" He hoped she did. He remembered quite clearly Yudoku, Kin'iro, and Sigal all playing together on the night when Sigal left the tribe.
"Sigal took after her mother, which was a rather large problem considering that I was the one who raised her. I had to spend quite a few days awake, and was stuck sleeping nights, to keep an eye on her and follow her sleeping schedule while she was still a kit. And that not only lead to me being rather distant from the tribe for some time, but it had a negative impact on Sigal, too. She never got a chance to socialize with anyone other than me. Excepting the night she left, anyway. She felt lonely and isolated in this tribe. Is that what you want for your children?
"And you shouldn't count on some being nocturnal, and some diurnal. Last I heard, Twilight was diurnal as well. How will you feel if all of your children are best suited to the tribe you're not in?"
Ari had his own personal answer to that. They had seen what he was like, after Sigal left. No parent should be forced to split from their children like that.
To even be split from your mate like that, being in different tribes, with different sleeping habits...
Ari wondered just how long the relationship could possibly last before the differences drove an impossible wedge between the two.

Orion bowed his head slightly, seeing that the elder was not at all pleased. Orion replied calmly. "I'm not exactly nocturnal, but I'm not fully diurnal either. I don't sleep all night long or all day long; I can usually only take short naps throughout the day." He had tried to explain his situation without boring the elder with too much detail. "I'm actually usually awake for most of the night." Orion finished his explanation and waited for the elders' reply.
((they didn't have to meet with the elders during the day. Oriona nd Yudoku had actually been coming to the tribe at night, but that's alright. Just wanted to make sure you didn't think it had to be day bc Orion isn't nocturnal))

Yudoku knew where Ari was coming from, and saw his concerns to be quite valid. Nevertheless, she wasn't willing to give up as of yet. "If that be the case, then I should become an insomniac like Orion here," replied the vixen with the faintest of smiles. "Or change my sleeping habits so that I sleep through the end half of the night and the first part of the day. That way I could still hunt and be with the tribe when they wake up and at the same time have already spent time with my children. Whatever it takes I would gladly do it," she said, respectfully but also with a slight tone of resolution in her voice. Yudoku had a rather strong will when need be and she was serious about all she said.

Ari listened to the absolute certainty in the voices of the two. They were so sure that everything would work out perfectly, that everything would go according to plan.
That was youth, Ari supposed: believing with absolute certainty in the goodness and perfection of the world. It was only with age that one came to realize that faith would not always carry though; that plans needed to be made, and that one needed to plan for things not going ideally. That was the foundation of the world: flaws and imperfections.
Still, they were young, and he would not grudge them their idealism too much. However, they were adults as well. And, as such, they ought to learn practicality too.
"Sleeping habits are not all that dictates what tribe one belongs in. If that were so, Orion would be a decent candidate for Lunarie. What if none of your children feel the call of the Moon Fox, Yudoku? What then? Will you abandon your tribe and your duties to it to be with them? Or will you take the alternate path, and abandon your duties as a parent to be with your children and care for them?
"You say now that you will be able to split the time between the two things, but will you be able to, really? The habits of the body are not something easily overcome. How difficult is it to go without food, or water, or sleep? And you will be going without sleep while you make that transition. If you can make that transition.
"Furthermore, kits need constant care. You have already stated that you will not be able to spend all of your time with them. Are you a carer within your tribe, Orion, able to watch your children all the time? Or have you taken some other position, that will not allow you to keep an eye on your children, either?
"Is that what you want for your children? To spend most of their time with a carer, rather than with their parents, because of the foolish choices their parents have made?
"Orion, everythig I have asked of Yudoku, I ask of you as well."
Ari stared intently at the pair, waiting to see what their reactions would be. They thought they had a good plan, one that would work out. Would they just respond with the same blind faith they had been showing earlier? Or would they realize that there was far more to this than they had thought, and start showing a little maturity and thought? Because sleep was calling, and one way or another, Ari wanted this over with soon.

Yudoku looked down at the ground thoughtfully for a moment, pondering all of Ari's inquires. Finally she responded. "Well, in address from the kits' point of view, my sister and I never even knew our parents. Had we not had the company of each other, we should have been very lonely. Still, we often wondered what had happened to them and wished to see them. All we remembered from our BCRs was-" The vixen paused and shook her head. "That's not important. My point is that we would have been glad to spend any time with our parents whatsoever, even if not necessarily 24/7. Besides, we were rather playful and kept to our own anyway. Should they have been hunters I would have hidden in the brush behind them to watch."
Yudoku sat down and wrapped her tail lightly around herself, moving the end calmly back and forth. "But Ari, I do propose a question for you. If you could go back in time, would you change ever having had Sigal and Twilight? Even though you couldn't spend that much time with them as they were growing up?" The question wasn't asked with any malice or ill-intent behind it, just genuine sincerity of what he would have done given the choice. After all, herself and Orion might one day face a similar situation if given their elders' blessings.

Kazuki listened to his mate and Yudoku. then when Yudoku spoke he stepped up.
"There is a different between you and you sister. Both had no idea who your parents were. For all you know they may be dead, but your kits shall know both parents are around. Even with ours they never want to spend less time with us. When we left them with Thea to come here they were very resistant. Knowing that both parents are around kits will want all the time they can with them. If they didn't then I would think they do not love you as much." Kazuki then thought for a moment pausing to looking up at the slowly changing sky. He too felt the two were being too idealistic and they needed a wake up call.
"Another problem is that kits separated with one parent for too long develop a different love for each parent. That leads to favoritism and all sorts of trouble. " Kazuki nodded thought he seemed to have calmed. Then when he heard what Yudoku said his ears twitched. His eyes narrowed considerably.
"Yudoku while I understand curiosity that question was a bit too personal! And as you know touched a very sore subject" It was clear he was very pissed with the young adult. Curiosity or not that question she should of known would of stung a very sore nerve not only in Ari but in Kazuki himself. His tail which was curled around him was flicking angry at the tip.

Orion closed his eyes and sighed. It seemed as if they were getting nowhere in this discussion. He understood the elders' points and he was realizing just how much responsibility it would take and how hard it might be to raise kits in different tribes. But the more he thought about all the things that could go wrong and all the trouble they might have to face, the more he knew that he truly did love Yudoku with all his heart. Orion opened his eyes and looked at Kazuki. "Sir, Yudoku didn't mean to upset you by her question. If you do not wish to talk about it, then that is fine. But please do not get angry with her for her curiosity." Orion bowed respectfully to Kazuki and paused for a moment. "Back on the subject at hand..I believe I understand more of what you mean," he began speaking to both Ari and Kazuki. "I truthfully hadn't thought of all the trouble we would have to go through. I had let my feelings blind me of any potential problems. This talk of hardship in raising kits and spending time together has opened my eyes and helped me see just how difficult this could be." Orion gazed from Ari and Kazuki to Yudoku and then back to the elders. He nodded in agreement with what they had said and in realization. "However, I also have realized that despite this knowledge, I still want to have the opportunity to work through it and try to make it work." Orion took a deep breath before continuing. "After all...isn't love full of potential problems and aren't troubles inevitable in all relationships, including ones between members of the same tribe?"
