Hema found herself wondering again. Which wasn't that surprising. Jeevita and Lonatos could hardly keep an eye on her. She was so quiet when she wanted to sneak away, it made it almost to easy. She hopped around in a puddle that was left from the morning rain. How fun was that! She splashed in it more, giggling with every one. Her legs and bits of her wings covered in muddy water.
She stretched her wings out and started running along the short grass grown. Most of the grass had seemed to die and only half dry dirt was left. She was pretending to fly. Her mother said she'd teach her to fly when she was a bit older, but for now, she was too small. Too small her butt! She'd learn on her own if she had to. What did mother know anyways! Well, she knew everything.
She stopped running when her wings got tired and sat down to nibble on some dead grass. She wanted to be like an adult, though she loved the adventure that she was having while she was a foal. So far, she had ran into one stallion. He was big. She loved meeting others. She stood back up and looked about to see if there was anything interesting around.

It was becoming colder, Ed thought as he huddled into his coat more. It was a good thing he had it, because he knew otherwise he would freeze. Already the foliage around him was beginning to die. Of course the rain they had this morning made it humid and wet everywhere. Was it possible for it to be humid and cold? He was thinking and not paying attention to his surroundings which then caused him to side step a squirrel at the last minute, which now seemed to be glaring at him…so he glared back, but now he was walking in a puddle. Oh good…stupid squirrel!
Not a good day, not a good day. Usually rainy days had him down, and today that just happened to be the case. He had a feeling, however, that something might happen today. Or maybe tomorrow, or possibly the next day. Okay, so his feeling was unsure! But still, something might happen.

Something interesting caught Hema's eye. As she turned to see what it was, she noticed it was another soquili. Though, it wasn't normal. This one had some weird stuff on him. She crept closer to him to see what he was doing. She was trying to sneak up on him. Perhaps, it was some type of human-horse creature? She'd only seen two-leggers with those type of strange things on. She couldn't help but to giggle as she got closer. Why would he be stupid enough to let a human get that close to him? Of course, her mommy told her about a young two-legger that she let get close, but she never dared putting anything like that on them. "Mister... Why do you have that thing on?" She asked him not able to keep quiet anymore.

Ed’s head twisted to look at the voice that had suddenly appeared. Boy was he out of it if he couldn’t even notice something around him. Excluding the squirrel. It was a gold foal that had, and his eyes widened slightly, bird wings?! Were those attached? Sure, he had seen some fairy like wings, but now bird wings. And people thought he was weird because of his clothes. Yeah, right. “Are you talking to me kid?”

Who else would she be talking to? She turned to look around then looked back at the adult. "Yes." She said simply. He totally ignored her question, or perhaps he'd get to that after he realized she was talking to him. "I don't see anyone else here." She pointed out the obvious. "And leaves don't talk back when I try to talk to them." She said with a nod flicking her wings slightly. She didn't know why, but it seemed to be a habit to flick them once in a while.

What a brat, were the first words to cross his mind. And did she just say that she talked to leaves? An odd, bratty kid then. “So, what was your question again kid?” He was still trying to hold in his laughter. Talking to trees, heh.

"Those things... Covering your fur. What is it?" She asked again slightly annoyed that she had to ask again. Didn't he hear her the first time? He was a very mean adult. She'd never want to run into him again after this. She huffed up her feathers on her wings and shook her body to make herself look bigger. She could take him.

She reminded Ed of a pigeon. He couldn’t hold it in any longer and he let his laughter loose. For a full three minutes. When that was over he stood there panting, trying to regain his breath. “Sorry, its just, you look like a mad bird. I couldn’t help myself.” Giving a few more laughs he decided to answer her question before he started laughing again. “I am wearing clothes.

She fluffed up her wings again as she glared at him. He was laughing at her! AT HER! She snorted and nipped at him. "Watch it mister! I'll beat you up!" she tried to act tough. She didn't care that he was a little bigger then her, she had wings, and could fly.... Well not yet, but he didn't know that.

The over-grown pigeon really thought she could. The idea was laughable. That very moment he was trying so hard not to. “Yeah, sure. You think you can beat me up?” He shook his head not even a second later, his answer for her. “I don’t think so.”

Hema glared and let escape a growl. "I can! You just wait... You... You.... Thug!" She said not sure what else to say to the adult. He was so mean, she could cry! But she wasn't going to. No! Crying was for the weak, and she had to prove a point.

He looked down on her, and she looked like she was about to cry. “I’m the thug? You were the one who said they were going to beat me up!” He semi-yelled at her, incredulous. What was wrong with this bird thing?

"You horrible!" She pretended not to hear him. She was going to bite him. She started towards him rather fast and nipped at his clothing. She wasn't going to allow this punk to tell her what to do.

Was she trying to bite him! “What are you doing?” She didn’t really think that she could, did she? He was so much bigger, there was no chance. Although, it was pretty amusing to watch her try.

She had a bit of his clothing in her mouth as she looked up and glared at him. Why was he so mean?! Tears started to come, but she held them back as much as possible. Spitting out his clothing. She huffed and turned her head away from him. She'd show him that she wasn't just a little thing. She flapped her wings, but nothing happened except the amount of dust in the air started to swirl about probably getting in eyes of the other. But still she flapped harder. She'd learn to fly! And then, then he'd be sorry!
