((Mostly for Amor, Twilight, and Ari. Although the rest of the family that is owned by Bouncy or myself is free to be thrown in for added chaos and drama.))
Ari stood in the clearing, tail swishing behind him nervously. He had been told to meet Twilight here, and he wondered just what it was that his daughter wanted to see him about.
The sun overhead bothered him, and Ari did wish that he could go back to sleep, but sacrifices had to be made in important matters like this, that concerned his children.

Twlight padded alongside Amor, her belly already swelling slightly from the kits inside. She could see Ari up ahead in the clearing, and she became even more nervous than she ever was. How was her dad going to react to the news? He didn't even meet her mate yet!
Amor took smaller steps to not let Twilight lag behind. Besides the fact that he was an Elder and she wasn't, the babies she was carrying was slowing her down.
"If you want, I can stay in the shadows and you talk to your father first..."
"It's alright. He's a nice guy, so he won't bite your head off." Twilight whispered to Amor. Seeing that he was still reluctant to move ahead, she wrapped her tail around his leg and dragged him towards Ari.
"Hi dad."

"Hello, Twilight, Amor," Ari replied, eying Amor. He recognized the Elder as the leader of the tribe both of his daughters had joined, but just what was he doing here?
It looked like Twilight was forcing Amor to come, which made the whole thing odder. He waited patiently for some sort of explanation from one of them.

Well now what? Twilight had to tell him the news now or never. Her tail clutched tighter to Amor's leg, having it act as a reassurance.
"You know Amor already... He's my mate."
One done, one to go. And what a doozy that last one bit of news is.

"I see." Ari's posture was suddenly more tense, as he eyed Amor, seeming to size him up.
"And how have you been treating Twilight?" he demanded of the other elder.

Amor stepped closer to Twilight, letting her tail loosen away from his leg.
"I've been treating her like any mate should treat their mate. With love and respect..."
Did Ari have a mate? Twilight mentioned that he did, and said it was the other elder of the Lunaire tribe. What's his name? Kazuki?
If Amor pissed him off, he'll be in so much trouble.
Twilight thought that Amor's response had an accusing tone, and she hoped not. The last thing that she needed was resentment between her mate and father.
"He's been treating me well dad. There's nothing you should worry about with him."
Except the fact that he was the father of her future kits. Which she should get to soon.

"I should hope that's how you're treating her," Ari nearly snapped back. He contemplated whether Sigal would agree to report on how Amor really was treating Twilight if he asked.
And thinking of Sigal, he wondered how she and her mate were doing. If there was any trouble between her and Ame, someone would tell him, right?
Well, he would have to worry about that later, and deal with the problem in front of him now.

That luckily went without trouble. The kits in Twilight's belly stirred and she flinched. Might as well get over this.
"And... I'm going to be a mother."
There. It was out. She braced herself for an eventual scolding, or prehaps Ari would faint.

Ari's expression was blank for a moment, while he processed what Twilight had just said. Then his expression changed rapidly from disbelief to shock to annoyance to concern and finally stopped at a point where it looked very much like he was trying to not faint.
"You're not having children," Ari said, weakly, a protest of disbelief rather than forbidding her to have them.

"Yes I am!" She protested. If her dad was going to prevent her from having kits, than it's far too late for that. "I'm already pregnant, and Amor can vouch for me..."
Saying that made her realize that only her, her mate, and her dad know about the kits. She will have to repeat this process again for the Tribe of Amores. Or Amor will do that.
And how would her sister react to this too?

Ari laid down on the ground, and shook his head. This was not happening. One of his little girls was not about to be a mother. They were too young, both of them...
But looking at Twilight, he could see her rounded stomach now, and knew that it was true.
"How many?" he finally asked.

Well that went smoothly. For now. Ari might have more OMGspazzum attacks, even if Twilight hoped for none.
"... Four kits? I think that's right." She responded, looking at Amor for the right answer. When he nodded, she turned back to Ari. "Yeah. Four kits."

Four. That wasn't so bad. He and Kazuki had five, after all.
Then Ari realized that his younger set of children and his grandchildren would be about the same age.
Grandchildren. He was going to be a grandfather.
Ari took a deep breath, and told himself that fainting in front of his daughter was something that would not help at all.
"That's...good," he finally said, at a loss for words.
((*contemplates throwing in Sigal and/or Rina* Hmm...if Rina is Ari's sister, and therefore Twilight and Sigal's aunt, does that mean the spawage are her grand-nieces and -nephews?))

Twilight took a step closer and examined Ari a bit. He looked like he was going to faint any moment now.
"Are you ok? You're taking the news more calmly than I've thought." She waved her tail in front of his face like a fan.
Amor had been watching the father and daughter reunion the whole time rather wordlessly, except the time when he answered her question. Whether through divine intuition or paternal senses, he felt that the kits were coming. Very soon.
Did Twilight know that? She didn't act like it. He took a step forward with her, almost wrapping his tail around her body.

"Fine," Ari lied. Twilight had to be worried, fanning him like that. So he forced himself to stand up, trying to hide his unsteadiness.
"Just fine," he repeated to himself.
