LGBT wrote up a bill that would ban discrimination based on sexual orientation/identity in the workplace. After showing the bill to the people in charge, the group took out "identity," which leaves out transgendered people.

Look, it's LGBT, not LGB.

I understand why they did it; people in general are willing to help out gays/lesbians/bisexuals, but many people are still iffy on trannies. By taking "identity" out of the bill, they made it much more likely to pass.

However, I can't help but feel that we've turned our backs on the T. Personally, I didn't take them out of the bill, but I still feel bad, just because I'll be able to get a job and a transgendered person still won't.

Sexual orientation and identity are two different things, and I realize this. But we're the same in the fact that we're not generally accepted by people. Shouldn't we have stood our ground and kept "identity" in the bill?

Discuss:
Does it seem like we're traitors, or is this just how the march of progress goes? Etc.

Straight girls can be in on the conversation too, of course. XD
Unlike certain places of business, I don't discriminate. XP

Yeah, that angered me too.
There is a lot of discrimination in the LGBTQ community, especially against bisexuals and transgenders. :[[[[

So the title reminded me of my friend Austin, who likes to exclaim in a very large monotone voice "HEY GUYS. I'M SAD ALL THE TIME YOU GUYS."

But yeah.
That is really sad. :/

You look like the songs that I've heard my whole life coming true.

v e g a n: Yeah... Bisexuals aren't even considered to be real by a lot of people. It's like we're unicorns or something. X_x And the poor trannies. <3 I know one, and he's very nice.

Plastik: Ha, your friend amuses me. XD

I hear you calling and it's needles and pins
I want to hurt you just to hear you screaming my name

Eh, just tack the trannie issue as a rider on another bill to feed starving children in Kuwait.

Who's going to challenge that bill? THINK OF THE CHILDREN.

Discrimination makes me want to punch something! D< (Gawd, I'm violent! The last two posts I just made included puching somthing! xD)
Okay, so I go to a private CATHOLIC school.
Right? So that means religion class.
And in it there is a chapter about sex.
And in that there are a couple paragraphs about homosexuals.
AHHHH! I's awful! They don't even treat homosexuals gay/les/bi/ people (Sorry, the term homosexual make me want to punch something. Uh, there I go again! xD) like things! The chapter goes something like this: "Being homosexual is unlawful and against God's will. Even if homosexual people are unlawful sinners, you should still try to be nice to them."
Ahhhh! *punchs something*
Like if they are so unlawful, why did God make them like that? Huh?
Dammit, I''m mad now... *foams at mouth* xD

Taking out 'identity' of the bill is bad for the transgendered, however, if it's passed, that's a small step forward. And a small step forward is just that. As long as th steps are being made, that's what counts.

Does anyone else find it ironic that in the LGBT community, there's discrimination against bisexuals? I've not personally seen much discrimination against transgenders so I can't comment on that (Not saying it's not there, just saying I've not seen it).

Here is a group of people discriminated against and instead of uniting, they attack each other.

Sonic: That. Is the most awesome idea. EVER. XD (Buuuut considering the fact that we don't seem to be doing much about the situation in Darfur, we probably wouldn't even get a "feed the children" bill passed...)

winterberries: *Nods*

Captain: Your ranting is entertaining. XD I totally agree with you, though. Catholic schools are wack, yo. (I went gangsta for a sec there. o0) I used to go to one. What I wanna know is, why do they feel the need to shove every little aspect down our throats? When I was younger, I believed that animals had souls. (I dunno how I am on this issue now, honestly.)

So we had a test, and a question was, "Do animals have souls?" and I was like "Yes," and the b***h marked it wrong. >_O They could at least word it different. "In the Catholic religion, are animals considered to have souls?" would have worked just fine WITHOUT messin' with my personal beliefs, thanks much.

Agh, now you've got ME ranting. XD

Kayura: It's true that it's a step there, but even so...

AND YES. gonk It's totally not fair. Straights AND gays can discriminate against bisexuals, but bisexuals can't even discriminate back. Wtf. XD They really should all stick together, though. In the end, they're all people with similar problems and ideals. I could get all political on that, but nah.

I'm glad I entertain you. xD I don't know, the main belief of the Catholic church is fine with me, but all the rules about homosexuals and birth control and stuff like that, I don't agree with.

Yeah, I think the majority of us disagree with some of the details.
I believe in the main stuff. Jesus was cool, God's all like "Hey, I'm God!" and Mary's Jesus' mom... etc.

But being gay isn't hurting anyone, so you won't burn for it. All of the other sins seem to have to do with someone getting hurt, but does being gay hurt anyone? Not anymore than being straight does. XD

Stealing, lying, killing, etc. hurt people, but humans in general seem more likely to defend those rather than being gay/bi/trannified. =/
People are dumb...

D:< What?
Thats whack, I personally don't mind trannies, they may seem odd to me but, hey, we're all odd in some ways aren't we? xd
I think its unfair, they're people, they shouldn't be able to get a job just because the boss has a discrimination towards them. Now, most of the time when a bill like this comes up, bosses just find another reason to discriminate, and they usually take the chance too. I think they are only hurting themselves though. So, say, a person like this can't get a job, they can't pay their TAXES or bills. I empasize taxes because taxes our the basic goldmine for our government. So, basically, through their own discriminatory actions, they are hurting themselves.
I go back to my original thought: Politicians SUCK : P

It's always sad when the people who are supposed to be sticking together aren't. But then, everyone should be sticking together for the good of the world and look how well that worked.

I agree though. Transexuals are no less than anyone else.

And on the subject of bisexuals that someone brought up, I think so many people are just saying they're bi that it's almost become a fad. This upsets me because those people aren't really bisexual and they don't understand how difficult it can be. They're never going to have to tell their parents that (though I suppose it's easier than being gay, I don't know, I'm bi not gay) they like both genders because it's a phase for them and as soon as they get into a serious situation, they'll just pull out and be 'over it'

That's awful.
But I kinda agree with
Lady Kayura. It's one
step at a time. Soon
enough, trannies will
also be able to get a
decent job.
