Kurogane had slept hard, thats the extent of his memory when he slowly began to regain consciousness. Although, the more awake he got, the easier it was for him to recall what had happened. Fai had fed on him, but it had been way more than they ever had done before. He had basically be crippled ( in a ninja's eyes) and then they had wandered to a headquarters of sorts to rest.

The ninja's blood red eyes slowly scanned over the room he was in. so thats where they were. He frowned at his grogginess as he slowly uncurled from the tight be he had obviously curled into last night. His blood splattered wings spread wide as he stretched them, his back arched as he stretched his body as well. He then sat back on his haunches, searching the room sluggishly with his eyes.

How long had he been asleep? Long enough to get his strength back and yet still be groggy. Must have been a long time. He frowned and looked around the room for the mage.

A pale ear flickered to the sounds of the other rising from slumber. Otherwise, the mage didn't move. His back was leaned heavily against the door with wings tucked as close as possible, ensuring no one bothered this specific room. With arms crossed in front of him, Fai sat with his head bowed for his own silent time. No sleeping, just a sort of meditation that resembled sleep. Three tails gave the occasional curl to show his state of awareness.

Belts shifted as he breathed slowly, one eye finally bothering to lift open. Hmmm, what time was it? There were no clocks in this room...or building. Best guess by the natural light, night was just beginning. The ninja had slept the whole day away, and the mage had been considerate enough to let him rest. Or unconcerned, either one. Point was, they needed each other to survive. Whether they liked it or not.

A glance was given to the wide spread wings as the form on the bed finally rose. Fai closed his eye once more, settling against the door without pause.

Kurogane spotted the mage leaning against the door sleeping, or he had assumed thats what the mage was doing. He frowned before pushing himself up from the bed, padding over to the mage quietly. He pulled his wings tight against his body before sitting down in front of Fai, his three tails curling around his paws. He felt bad for having slept all day and for the fact that Fai had stayed up to let him.

He noticed the mage wasn't sleeping once he sat in front of him, so he didn't hesitate in speaking.

" Oi, mage. Go sleep on the bed."

The sleeping pose remained the same, even when he smelled the other shift closer. Fai assumed he was blocking the ninja's path, so simply waited for whatever demand would be barked. His thoughts were still drifting on recent actions, both shocked and bittered by what happened. And now here was the ninja, all ready to move forth again? A smirk pulled on his thin face as he sbsorbed Kurogane's words. "I'm perfectly rested already. You know that Kurogane." The mage leaned further back into the door, his head tilting back to the direction of the ceiling. Fai could see no point in rushing about. They were stranded, plain and simple.

The ninja huffed, ears pinned back and eyes narrowed, he turned on his paws and walked back over to the bed.

"Whatever..."

Him, moody when first waking up? Never! But what was really bothering him was the mage's continued mood. What had Kurogane done this time? He hated that he was never told what was bothering the mage, or was expected to just KNOW what he had done. He was beyond tired of this constant guessing game with Fai, tired of being the victim of whatever the hell was going on in the damned mage's head.

He laid back down on the bed, laying his chin onto his crossed front paws, his tails flicking angrily behind him. He didn't care to hide his anger this time.

Aww, well that was no fun at all. The mage sighed a breath of air, finally making to stand and stretching his limbs from the long sitting. Clawed paws scrapped the wooden ground as he made his way to the room's window. Fai lifted to his hind legs, the boots helping much, and pushed aside the firm curtains. Yep, it was early night now and without a sight of any other 'kitsusagi' roaming about. Guess Fall was too chilly for that.

Ears flitted back as the magician considered any options. Not much to go on, or do for that matter. Except find feathers, as always. "Well?" Blue eye peered at the faint reflection of the ninja in the window's glass. "Mind letting me in on about Infinity. Why'd you hold back?" It bothered the male that he had forgotten on his own. And it bothered him more that the ninja let him continue his ignorance.

Kurogane tried to ignore the mage and keep to himself in his pouting. However, this became extremely difficult when the mage asked his question.

" Hold back?" The ninja's ears perked up and swivled toward the mage, but he kept his head down in order to hid the look of confusion on his face. What was he talking about? What was there to tell the mage about Infinity that he hadn't already known/seen for himself? The ninja tried to rake his brain for the correct answer, but couldn't think of it.

" Damn mage, what are you talking about? I didn't keep anything from you." He finally lifted his head, looking back at the mage, his red eyes searching the mage's reflection in the window.

Blue eye narrowed at the glass before diverting his attention to the woods outside. So, the ninja didn't understand. No matter, it wasn't worth clinging to. They had enough things to concern over as it is. Blonde hair swayed as he shook his head, still staring out the window. "Nevermind. I don't want to speak about that world." He removed himself from the windowsill, turning to head for the door. A late night stroll might do good, or a visit to the kitchen for any sake. Fai glanced over his shoulder to the bed and the kitsu on it. "You keep too many things from me, Kurogane." And he despised him for it. "This could have ended a long time ago, and I've come so close so many times..." The kitsu turned away with a frown, heading once more for the door to leave.

" I keep too many things from you?" A vicious growl escaped from the ninja as Fai turned back toward the door. Eyes narrowed, ears pinned back, and hackles rising along his back, if he didn't look close enough to a dog before, he certainly did now. But this thought barely passed through his mind before it was eaten up by his anger.

A reddish black blur dove past Fai, positioning itself before the door. The form turned out to be the ninja, his legs spread in a defensive stance and wings spread wide in his attempt to block the mage's exit. His eyes seemed to glow with anger.

" I keep things from you?!" He snapped his jaws as he scoffed. " Since when have I ever hid things from you?! YOU are the one never saying anything, constantly hiding your feelings or shutting them up whenever I try to confront you about them or try to figure you out!" The ninja was shaking with anger by this time, not caring that the way he was acting was unlike him, he was tired of letting the mage have his tantrums and tired of playing this guessing game.

" I told you before that I don't care what happened in your past! It doesn't concern me!" The ninja paused as a growl passed through him again. " So why aren't you letting me in?"

The sound of huffing and growling didn't falter Fai. He was all too used to those effects he had on the other. The daily routines of poking and giggling were like a ticket that only he had permission to cause. Well, besides Mokona of course. What did make Fai pause was now his blocked doorway, the ninja having dashed ahead and guarding it like a loyal canine. Fai could just make out the glinting red eyes through the darkened room, thanks to the slight peek of the moon in the window.

A smirk tugged the edge of his maw, and Fai turned his eyes to the side. Did Kurogane actually expect to recieve a straight answer? Tails swished as Fai remained serene to the yelling voice. "Silly Kurogane, you don't hide things from me. You steal them from me." Fai only had one wish (that he was aware of), and each time the ninja of Japan would deny him it. To the point he was made a leech, and now his wish wasn't his own problem anymore. If he died, then Kurogane may too.

Ears pinned slightly and Fai glanced at Kurogane. Big puppy more like big bad wolf. It concerns you, Kuro-rin. How would the ninja take to knowing his past? Knowing his involvements? For as long as he could, Fai would be desperate to make sure no one knew. "Why? Because...I am the type of person you hate most, remember?"

There was that name, the damned mage was shutting him out again, and what the hell was he talking about? What had the ninja stole from him? Kurogane could hardly think through the haze his anger was putting over his mind. The ninja could at least be given some credit for actually thinking, by now a beat down would be in order from all this rage.

Kurogane only growled once more after he figured out what he had stolen from the mage. His wish to die. Kurogane resisted the urge to punch a hole in the ground, seeing as that they were staying in a hotel of sorts, and snarled viciously instead.

" You have a reason to live though, damned mage. Why do you keep trying to deny that you have people to live for? What about the princess and the kid? Do you ever think of them? Whether you like it or not, you are involved! Whatever happened in the past doesn't matter anymore! It doesn't concern us because it won't change how we feel about you, idiot!"

Fai sat back on his haunches, folding his arms in front as he watched the ninja in dry amusement. Aww, true colors come out when no children are around to witness it. Not like it was a surprise, they all knew Kurogane's title and his bloody past. And still they knew nothing of the mage, just that he was the group 'clown'. That title, he could live with. Prefered it actually, until things had gone downhill. Now he had to push away because the truth, he was afraid, was drawing near.

His own tail ends bristled, before being forced back to help him keep balance. "Don't use them against me like that. Of course I think of them." Why didn't they understand? Couldn't see? He had caused so many problems with his lies. And now when he spoke truly, they didn't want to hear it? They wanted his former self back? "Fine, I'm involved. Happy now?" Fai pulled a wide smile on his face, pointing at it with both paws to emphasize this change. It fell just as fast when Kurogane continued. "Hmmm, feelings? I'm afraid I've confused everyone as far as that is concerned."

" I will use them against you all I want, it seems to be the only thing that gets through to you. I you thought of them then you wouldn't be trying so hard to get yourself killed. You would stay alive for their sake."

The wide smile that Fai had plastered on only made the ninja angrier, he HATED that smile, hated that Fai used it to hide behind, especially hated that Fai used it to hide from him. He was anything but happy at the moment, and that was very clear. How was he going to get through this thick headed mage?!

" You've confused everyone because you keep hiding the truth from us! You give us just a little bit of it then hide behind that damned grin of yours. Stop hiding from me!"

Before Kurogane could stop himself, 'us' had quickly become 'me.' Stunned by his own words, only now did the ninja paused to take deep, ragged breaths, trying to calm himself enough to think. But the anger was still there, burning brightly.

Fai dropped his paws as Kurogane bristled even more, which he had thought would be impossible. Live for their sake? It was a concept that the mage was so unused to. There had been no one to live for in the ice world, save Chii. But then again, there was never the risk of loosing her. Besides, his survival now compared to then was too much of a bother than it was a prize.

Ears and expression dropped as Kurogane continued his outrage. And what shocked Fai the most is that his words were sensible behind his blunt anger. His black clothed form stiffened when the noise finally settled, replaced with harsh breathing. From him? Why would a thick-skinned and harsh tongued ninja care of how the fickle mage behaved? Nose flared at the obvious display of heated blood speeding through Kurogane's form. What was the point of that rest if he was only going to be stubborn again so soon? With a soft sigh, Fai decided. He shuffled up to his paws and moved toward the door, faced with the guard before it. His blonde locks touched at Kurogane's chin, before he pushed fully into the crook of his neck to snuggle there. Blue wings brushed at Kurogane's shoulders then pulled back, as if trying to wipe away the anger like a layer of dust. "Hmm? 'Just a bit' isn't enough then for Kuroruu?" If he couldn't hide one way, he'd distract with another.

Kurogane froze as he felt the mage move up against him, snuggling against his neck. The ninja frowned deeply in confusion as he watched the mage's wings move against and away from him. It did seem to settle his anger, that or the surprise suddenly shut off the adrenalin that was fueling him. He suddenly felt weak without that anger flowing through him, and the ninja slowly slid down to his haunches, his wings dropping down slightly.

Slowly the ninja wrapped his wings around the mage, unable to make his arms do the same. No, it wasn't enough in a sense, no where near enough.

" All I want is for you to be honest with me....that's all I ever wanted from you.." The ninja kept his gaze forward, not daring himself to look at the mage.
