Professor Avery-York was already waiting outside for his students. He had several stacks of boxes piled on each side of him and a strange structure behind him that simply wasn't there this morning. He began speaking.
"Very well class. As you are aware, I put a very great emphasis in the importance of one being able to defend themselves when deprived of your wands, or simply magic in general. Wether if you were disarmed or didn't have it withing your reach.
At those times, it is vital that you have the physical capacity to defend yourselves from monster or enemy wizards.
I know you all think this is rubbish and boring and that you simply do not need it. But then, you never know when you might be up against a basilik and a wizard at the same time, with nothing but a sword, a hat and a phoenix as help like the young Potter did. Sometimes you just have to make do with what you have. And in those times it's better to be prepared than unprepared."
After that he opened up the boxes and hand out the official school track uniforms.
He then proceeded to describe the entirety of the obstacle course that had been set up.
"As this is your first time. I only require that you do three laps around the course, and then take the easy stage."
The easy stage consists of interconnected platforms. The first platform can be reached through a simple ramp. The second platform is higher and students must cross a rope net to get to it. The third platform is right above the second and a rope must be climbed to get to it. The fourth and final platform is twenty feet to the right of the third and connected by a single rope serving as 'bridge'.
There is a bell in the gourth platform that students should ring when they reach it before they jump down.
Jumping down or falling poses no danger as there is an enchantment over the entire course, making the fall very slow, as if sinking through water.
"Well then. Get to it!" He said, but then added "And you might want to hurry. I have put a couple of dummy werewolves on the course too. Stay still for too long and they will hunt you down and attempt to throw you off. There's no danger in falling, and they won't actually hurt anyone but do you really want to be caught?"
(This thread is for all years) (Details on the uniforms will be released at a later date, sorry >.<)

Kanita was lazing happily beneath the rays of the warm sun. Her legs were stretched out before her, splayed out in the soft grass. As the Professor began explaining the reason for an outdoor lesson, Kani peeled open one eye to gaze at him. She surpressed a groan when she realised that a slight work out was in store. Already her lean body was sore from her quidditch training yesterday. Never-the-less, Kani rose slowly to her feet and began stretching.
"Well, this should be fun." She mumbled incoherently to herself.

Darcy groaned silently when she heard that she was supposed to run three laps. The course would be okay for her, but she could not run.
"At least it'll be good training for Quidditch,"she said to her brother who nodded.
The dark auburn haired girl got up at the starting line and started to stretch, when the Professor said 'Go' she started to jog, to not tire herself out.
(Sorry for correcting you, but it's spelt pheonix, not fenix. It's a pet peeve of mine when someone spells something wrong!^^')

Perry chuckled when he heard his sister's quiet groan beside him. She wasn't the athletic one in the family, he was. He got up early every morning back home to run in preparation for the Quidditch season.
"Tough luck, sis,"he said as he passed her on the track. He heard her growl and start to chase after him. He laughed and ran faster.
((OOC by Logain Ablar: Actually it was spelt right. I just got the language wrong and wrote it in Portuguese xD It's edited now, thanks for noticing! ^^; ))

As Sira heard Professor Avery-York detailing what they would have to do, she began to feel a bit uneasy. Physical tasks weren't a favourite of hers. It's not that she was lazy, but she'd much rather sit at the library trying to commit spells and potions to memory than running around and tiring herself out.
After she had changed into her track uniform, she bleakly looked at what the professor had called the "easy" stage.
"Better to start running the laps and worry about that later", she thought to herself, as she saw other students had already began to take the laps around the course.

Naida looked over the course and down at her very cool track uniform. Maybe this class wouldn't be so bad afterall. She rushed to get changed and back to the track. She did some small stretches and then hopped to jogging around. She liked doing this, although, she already feared she'd have to do similar things when it got colder out. That didn't sound like it would be as much fun.

Darcy reached the first platform after running her laps. She groaned as she stepped up onto the platform. She quickly made her way over to the rope net that went to the second platform.
'I feel like that Muggle spider guy. What was it....OH Yeah! Spiderman!'the girl thought to herself.
Darcy soon reached the second platform. She went over to the third and started to climb it. It reminded her of the thing that she had to do in Muggle Primary school. Once she had successfully scaled it, she went over to the rope that connected the third and the forth. She gulped as she looked down.
"This sure is high,"she said aloud. She could hear her brother huffing quickly up the rope. Darcy closed her eyes, determined to beat him. It had, apparently, become a race to see who could finish first out of the twins.
Darcy found her center of gravity and stepped onto the rope. It wobbled slightly under her weight. It must have been pulled tight. She took a deep breath and ran for it. She covered it in eight carefully placed steps. Darcy collapsed on the fourth platform, happy that she had made it across. She rang the bell and cheered. She had beaten Perry!

Perry had forgotten how fast Darcy could sprint and for how long. He was soon too tired out to keep up with her. He jogged along behind her and reached the first platform as she was just at the second. Perry quickly scuttled up the net, the Spiderman themesong stuck in his head.
'Spiderman, Spiderman, does whatever a spider can,'he thought. He chuckled to himself as he reached the second platform.
Perry remembered having to do this in Muggle Primary school. He quickly shuttled up the rope in record time! He could see his sister jumping for joy at the end. She had one.
Perry kept going. He took the easy way across the rope. He hung from it and shuffled his way across. He reached the fourth platform and rang the bell.
He may not have beaten his sister, but it was still fun.

Kinzo looked up half-heartedly after Professor Avery-York finished his explanation. Oh boy... Laps... It wasn't that she was bad a running, but she didn't enjoy it, especially when long distances were involved. She picked herself up off the ground and dusted off the official uniform she was wearing. Not really my thing, but it is comfortable! She stretched out quickly looking at the other students. Then Kinzo forced herself to grin and began the three laps necessary. She ran at a steady pace, not fast, but not slow either.

Finishing up with the last stretches, Kani shrugged off her Ravenclaw robes and slipped into the uniform. She plunged her legs into the sleeves of the pants and tugged off her school-girl skirt in one sweeping movement. Then discarded her school blazer and threw the track shirt on, over her white tanktop.
Once her feet left the grass and hit the track, Kani took off.

Lorako listenned carefully about what she needed to do. She got a smile without realising it. She grow up in an orphanage she always played arround with the boys. She was good in sports.
Like everyone she picked her house school track uniform and changed. She was ready to start.
She started running at a quiet speed towards the first platform.

Three laps later that seemed like they wouldn't end, Sira was somewhat tired. Out of shape, she bent over and rested her hands on her knees, breathing heavily.
She raised her head, looking at the so called "easy" stage. She gulped, but then told herself: "Can't escape it, so might as well get it over with."
Sira ran up to the first platform; that ramp wasn't too hard, not at all. Once she reached the rope net, however, she gulped... and hoped for the best, as she started climbing. It was quite high, and although Sira wished the net was a bit more stable than it actually was, she somehow managed to get her feet into the right places despite all the swinging around (although she slipped twice) and got herself up to that second platform.
As simple as the task could seem to be for all the other students, there was definitely quite a sense of accomplishment there, for her.

Kinzo finished her third lap and stopped for a moment. She was looking forward to the obstacle course that was their next step; she'd always kinda like these sorts of things. After waiting a few minutes to catch her breath Kinzo re-pulled her hair back, to get the loose strands out of her face, and started the course.
She walked up the ramp, which was quite easy. If someone has a problem with that, I feel sorry for them. Kinzo reached the net and began to pul herself up though the flexible structure wiggled beneath her. She slipped once when she misjudged a step, but soon caught her balance and moved on. When she reached the second platform she looked up and sighed. Ropes fun, fun. Despite her lack of enthusiam she began to climb, but soon realized it'd be easier if she took of her shoes. She slid back down to the bottom and slipped off her shoes and socks. After tying the laces toghether and hooking her green converse around her neck she bagan again. This time she made it up much quicker and reached the top with much more ease.

Oh boy running, how I love to run It wasn't that he was bad at it. It was just that he would rather eat nails than be forced to run for no apparent reason.
After he did his requiered laps he sat back and did a quick breather. Then he looked up at the obsatcle course. Hmph he thought this should be no trouble at all. My freinds and I used to do this all the time back home. He took off his shoes and put them around his neck. He started the course and saw his freind Kinzo. I wonder if I'll beat her he thought to himself. As he went through the course he let his mind ramble. Finally he got to I wonder if I should change my hair color?

Kinzo looked down at the platforms below and noticed Steven. Oh no you don't. She turned around to finish the course; there was no way she'd let her friend beat her. She began her walk across the rope, still barefoot. Balancing carefully, but with little trouble, she made her way across the rope and reached the fourth platform. She rang the bell loudly and grinned back at her friend who was still finishing up, but with little trouble as she'd expect. Kinzo jumped off the platfrom on purpose since she wanted to feel the enchantment that was upon the course. As she gently sunk to the ground she looked around to see who else was finished. Two others, eh? She stood around waiting for Steven, as she hoped to get a chance to talk.
