Tsunami walked out of the waves of the nearby waters, shaking his short tails with enthusiasm. It was a perfect day to swim, ride the waves, and overall have a good time. He was pleased with the way things were going, regardless of the company. Or... in his case, the lack there of. It didn't bother him though, and he stretched out on the warm sands to dry off some before taking another dip.

User Image Sunrise had ended. Perhaps the first she had watched alone since the Luck kit had joined her so many months ago. Not that the bobtail regretted a moment of her time mothering the young female. In ways they were alike -both patterned for changes of the day. Adumialmîr was twilight, neither sunrise nor sunset but the brief moment heralding or ending each. Yun was sunset, just beginning with only a hint of purple. She loved the girl, that she did. But... it had not been long before the Luck kit had out grown her. Literally. Yun was a sweet thing and never seemed phased that her foster mother was so small... but Adumialmîr could not help but notice.

It did not upset her. Not really. Adumialmîr had no desire to be anything other than what she was. What it did was make her wish to see others like her. Other bobtails. She had only met two -and one only briefly. Yrre she knew was mated. Not that it mattered for someone to talk to but he would be busy with mate & family more likely than not. Plus... if she remembered from her housemates properly 'the Yrre' was a 'changed' bobtail. Maybe that also did not matter. But that was the path her thoughts had taken her.

So she had asked Yun to leave her though it pained her to ask it of the girl, especially when she could see the sadness in her 'daughter's' eyes. Adumialmîr needed time to think alone. She did not think through the twilight, but as the sunrise took over she did. By the time the sun rose she had made her decision. She would find Tsunami.

The thought had crossed her mind before but now she would act on it. It was rather quick to remember what she knew of him. It had been before Yun hatched they had met. Water. She would check the beaches. Adumialmîr started out.

It was a beautiful day. Cool breezes came in from over the water as she traversed the beaches. She was tempted to take a swim but stubbornly held herself to her objective. The sand was warm under her paws as she traveled. It felt like many beaches before she caught sight of what she hoped was who she sought. Blue like the water. Small. Moving from the water to lay upon the warm sands. Adumialmîr hurried her trot, already tired. The Twilight Lady was smiling lightly however as she called out s she approached. "Greetings."

Tsunami looked up quickly at the greeting and grinned. "Oh hey!" he replied, still grinning. "I haven't seen you in a long time. Such a quick meeting we had."

He stretched out, his toes having wide indentations between them as he had a thorough stretch then rolled onto his back. Looking at her upside down, he winked. "What was your name again?"

The female tried to hide her disappointment that her name had been forgotten while consoling herself that she was at least remembered, that her name was long and perhaps difficult to recall. It had been a short meeting, and not everyone remembered names as she did. But then, Tsunami for a kitsu who enjoyed the waves was easy for anyone to remember. Coming up beside him -upsidedown- she smiled and settled gracefully down. "Adumialmîr." She supplied lightly, tucking her paws beneath her. "And it was quite short, Tsunami." Her voice spoke of her happiness in seeing him again. "Have you been enjoying yourself since?"

Tsunami grinned and nodded, an odd job when laying on his back. "Ah, I knew it started with an A... but lately I've been alone, so I can't recall too many other's names. Sorry about that."

He noticed her disappointment at him forgetting. With a little effort, he rolled back onto his stomach and looked out at the waves. "I've been having fun on my own though... the waves have been great lately."

"Oh. It's all right." Adumialmîr insisted softly, inclining her head as if to wave any uncomfortable things beneath a rug. There was a flash of guilt that somehow it was her fault the male was now less relaxed. That was not her desire. "I'm glad to hear it. That you have been having fun and that the waves are great." Her fushia eyes followed his out to those waves. "Alone can be nice. I am realizing this more now, since I have been around more others recently than I used to be. To be alone was nice."

The female paused, gold marked ears flicking backwards. "And a little discerning."

Tsunami looked back at her and flicked an ear before tilting his head. "Discerning? How so? I find being alone can be a comfort for the most part... what happened to you?"

The female's smile was a little tentative. Uncertain. Not because of her present company, but because of what her thoughts and feelings had been. "I'm not sure I could say nothing happened nor that something had. It was a comfort. Being alone I mean. Please don't get me wrong, Tsunami. It had simply been a while since I sat in the twilight alone much less watched the sun rise. It brought disquieting thoughts. I have always thought of myself as content and discovered I was not. I should not, but I realized I have been feeling uncomfortable with the other kitsu I live with except the mini-permakit. Even my 'daughter'..." She sighed eyes flicking to the sand at her paws before glancing back out across the waves. "especially her..."

"I think I get what you mean." Tsunami said, swishing his short tails again in the sand this time. "They're much bigger than we are, afterall. And... they aren't what we are. They are, but they're not. Or maybe I've just got the totally wrong idea and you mean something else?"

He was a guy, he was a surfer, and his brain didn't typically grasp complex subjects. This was as simple as he could get it. If he didn't, then maybe she'd explain it a bit more so he could.

Adumialmîr turned her head to the blue toned male, a look of intense gratitude in her fushia eyes. He had simplified it perfectly. Was it really that simple? It seemed so much more complex when it was feeling without words but now that Tsunami said it... That was it. "You pegged it, Tsunami." She said softly. Her short pink hued tails pressed against her rump making her look as small as she felt. "I've never really minded being small. At least I thought I didn't. Maybe it was having Yun around all the time. She was bigger than me before she transitioned from kit to juvenile and yet even in looking down she always looked up to me."

The female paused, knowing she was saying a lot, perhaps too much. She did not want to overwhelm Tsunami. "Or perhaps I am simply afraid of what I am... that we are more susceptable to the darkness."

She laughed softly, looking at him though embarrassment wanted her to look away. "Is it foolish, that I wanted to see another like me? That I hoped to find you, Tsunami?"

Tsunami blinked. "I don't think it's foolish. If I didn't care about my size, having been on my own for the most part, then I'd probably feel the same."

He stood up suddenly with a grin, his tails wagging. He felt the need to get Adumialmir smiling again, as she had been when they had met earlier. His tails continued to wag, as he looked off toward the water. "Do you want to go for a swim with me?"

Her look was grateful though her smile trembled. She knew she thought to much. Perhaps that was part of why she had hoped to find Tsunami. He din not think her foolish and the twilight femme felt a wait lift from her small shoulders. Ever so slightly her body relaxed.

The smallest flinch as Adumialmîr was unprepared for the male's sudden leap to his feet. So he had simply stood... it startled her enough it felt like Tsunami had leapt. Her ears flicked back, but only for a second before relaxing again. Her face softened, a small smile curling the edges of her maw. "I would love to, Tsunami."

Stretching, Adumialmîr tried to relax her body just a little bit more as she stood. Fully erect she looked at the male again and smiled lightly, fushia eyes silently indicating she was ready.

Tsunami grinned at her smile. "That's more like it! Pretty faces should always smile as much as possible. Come on, I know of a great swimming spot. Here is ok, but I know of better."

He waited for her acknowledgment and then headed off down the shoreline to an area that was enclosed by some of the corals and natural shallows. It made a great pool, but of the salt water from the sea. However, if one were to go just a little further out, the water would get to a perfect depth that one could swim and yet still see the bottom safely within distance. He thought it was the best swimming area for someone that was a bit hesitant, such as Adum's.

Adumialmîr paused mid step to near him in her intention to follow him towards the water. Pretty? Well yes, she herself liked her appearance with fur patterned like twilight and embellished with yellow that only seemed to heighten it. But she had not expected the offpaw compliment. She managed a nod, keeping her smile by grace only, not sure what she should say. Then she was trotting after him, refusing to think anything other than where they were going & how lovely the day was & how nice it would be to swim with a friend. Her eyes widened at the sight of the place Tsunami brought her. "Oh! This is very lovely, Tsunami." Turning her face from the vista to him Adumialmîr smiled warmly.

She had swam in the ocean before but not often, and was more comfortable with less moving waters. With the tiniest little skip to her first step the bobtail female made her way to the water, dipping her paw in first for a sense of the water before making her way in with a glance at Tsunami to see how he was entering.

"I thought this might be more your style." Tsunami said with a grin. "I like coming here when I don't feel up to the waves.... it's great for swimming out a little deeper."

He wondered if she would take the compliment seriously. True, he was a bit of a laze about, but he meant what he said. Even though they had only met a couple of times, he genuinely liked the female. Ah well, there were other fish in the sea, as Tia said from time to time. Though her fish was home with her in a tree... She didn't have to worry about those things.

With a twitch in his tail, Tsunami continued toward the water. He knew the water would be a little colder than one was use to, but it would be quite comfortable after a few moments. So he padded in with caution, shivering with glee at the chill. Then he leaped with many splashes towards the deeper area.
