rootnoodle Akherontis And yet ironically, they seemed to get along quite fine in mythology. They certainly shared patronage of Mount Parnassos in common. It's only due to Nietzsche—and his popularizing use of the words 'Apollonian' and 'Dionysian' to refer to antithetical impulses—that the two gods came to be seen as diametrically opposing personalities. Do you have any myths that involve the both of them? I know that they shared the temple of Delphi, but I'd love to hear any stories that involve their interaction! (I really can't help but imagine them butting heads just a little, but that's entirely off of the canon writings. biggrin )
They feature in several myths as individuals, but never really interact. Apollon and Dionysos seem to get along quite well, even with Apollon's famously raucous, murderous temper.
