This might need to go in the self-help forum, which seems kinda...dead. sweatdrop
Do any of you guys here channel, or are a medium? (Is there a differece? I suck with terms; maybe channels get possessed and mediums just communicate...either way).
I'm asking, cause I don't know if you've ever just felt your life's about to take a certain path, or your abilities are about to take an expected unexpected turn, but...I've got this feeling that I've got good potential as a channeler.
If it's true, it'll probably happen on its own. But I SWEAR, I'm not going through it blind and with no knowledge like I did my empathy. I'd kind of like to gently welcome it in, rather than have it tossed upon me and collapse under it.
So, if anyone of you has tips, or are a channeler/medium who is willing to kinda teach me in some way, I'd love to know. Cause I feel really alone in this. gonk

I channel Reiki energy on occasion, but I don't think that's what you're talking about. However, when I open myself up and welcome the energy, I find my body temperature climbing and sometimes I get uncontrollable shakes along with a deep sense of relaxation.
What would happen during a spirit channeling? I have no idea. I don't tamper with the dead. I feel they are best left in peace.

Channels are that which a spirit works through.
Under all technicalities your body is channeling your spirit or channeling energies.
I have channeled energy from spirits. I haven't let a spirit take possession of anything other then my hands and I was a bit reluctant to even do that. I don't trust easily others influence over me.
I've known a lot of "mediums" or people who've let spirits partially possess themselves.
I have a friend who when she is stressed allows a person from england to take possession of her body. She is a very nice lady. In either case I know a bit about mediums possession etc.
You channel spirits, as you channel energy. Its mostly allowing another beings will to work through you. Its not very difficult, you just have to be less willful. You have to draw back your influence through the parts of your body that you are willing to let the spirit work through.
If you are well aware of channels through your body you can open the channel to outside influence.
They aren't dead in a traditional sense of the word. They are spirits without bodies. They still have will this is what your allowing to control our body.
I just don't like others to have influence over me. I don't like the concept very much unless I know fully completely the will of the other entity.

It's very powerful [1], and actually produces physiological changes in the medium during the channeling, or the gaining of traits of the person being channeled.[2]
[1.] Very powerful in the Gyakuten Saiban universe.
[2.] Usually results in 90% more cleavage.

Niiiiiiice, could definitely use that last line you wrote. xd I don't need too much help with that... *glances down, blushes sheepishly* I haven't channelled a spirit myself (at least not knowingly), but I saw someone do so. It was kind of creepy, considering my friends and it started speaking in a tongue I didn't understand for a while before they asked it to speak English.

And, ironically, I have this innate fear of ghosts. They freak me out. I have no intentions of calling forth any spirits. It's the earthbound ones I'm worried about; I'm starting to feel them stronger, and I started having weird dreams dealing with it. I definitely don't want to get myself possessed, so probably I'm thinking more along the lines of being a medium, where I could communicate to them, but not let them speak through me. sweatdrop

Thats the reason why people develop senses ^-^ Its basically just fine tuning your awareness of energy. You can work on what is naturally in existence through your empathy to do that. Empathy is a very un developed form of sensing energy. This (depending on the person) mostly is focused on taking in physical energy and finding connotations associated with physical things on this plane. To sense spirits I would suggest trying to work on disassociating your self from your physical self. Focus a lot more on energy. You know the feeling you have when you take in emotional energy? Well you want to increase the energy you take in and fine tune it so you can read other information in it. I'd go into this more but I have a doctors apointment soon

You'd get more people to participate at least, just most of them would be male
You know, something to increase cleavage would suck for a lot of people
Bigger is not better! Running is like a curse, somewhat painful. You have to walk at a measured pace constantly to limit jiggling. Jiggling is not fun... even if its fun to watch. You know their is a thread on boobs in the CB.
