There seems to be a big trend with turning movies/tv shows into video games. The opposite is also gaining in popularity. My question is, how many of these are actually any good? Any suggestions on what games based off of a movie/show are actually fun to play? Any suggestions on what movies based off of a game are actually good?

First thing, if you want to watch a videogame turned movie, always make sure who's the director. If it's Uwe Boll, don't touch it, or it will burn your hands! Uwe Boll's movies suck inmense amounts of a**. All of them. Trust me.
Second, if you want to play a movie/series turned videogame, be careful and try to find as much reviews as possible, because these games are usually rather lackluster. Some of them are really good, but a lot of them are not good enough.

I actually enjoyed the Doom movie, personally. sweatdrop I know I should be ashamed to admit that, but I thought it was pretty damn amusing. Not good, per se, but entertaining.

Ok, I'm adding a new aspect to this! Is there any game that you would like to see be made into a movie? Is there any movie/show that you would like to see be made into a game?
Personally, I want to play an Invader Zim game, not just a game with a bunch of Nick characters thrown into it.

I'd love to play that, too. There are so many different aspects of the show they could use. It'd be really interesting.

I really liked House of the Dead... I loved playing that game in the arcades!! And I acutally liked the movie! redface I'm really curious how they will do with Hitman though... I hope they don't screw it up!!

99% of any Movies/T.V. Shows turned into games are horrible.
ALSO...
99% of games turned into movies suck also.
This goes for:
The Resident Evil Trilogy
Bloodrayne
Dead or Alive
all the D&D movies
And these movies will also probably suck:
Hitman
The Halo Movie
The Gears of War Movie
The World of Warcraft Movie.
They all include bad acting, horrible casting, a mutilated story line, bad directing or all of the above.
When it comes to movies into games...there is only one game I can think of that was DECENT....not great....that game is Enter the Matrix.
...I have to admit thought....although the Halo and Gears movies are going to suck...I will still gladly see them...just because they were such good games.

I know I'm opening myself up to criticism for this, but I actually really liked the two Final Fantasy movies, even if the first movie wasn't based off of any of the games.
Although, I must admit, I still haven't seen Advent Children in English, yet. I heart my Japanese DVD, even if sometimes things seem to get lost in translation.

Yes, Invader Zim is the best show ever! xd My little brother has this one Nicktoons video game that has a bunch of characters in it from various Nick cartoons, and they have Zim as a playable character. Whenever he makes me play it with him, I always pick Zim, simply because of the fact that I love his evil laugh whenever he's winning. 4laugh

Well, if you like ZIm, then you're gonna flip at this: They're coming out with a whole new season next year (I believe..). It won't be on nick, seeing as how they didn't let Jhonen have creative freedom.
Any ways, back on topic:
I would like to see the Halo movie, especially sing peter jackson is directing it. *nods*
noo bad they canceled it again!
(although, I did like the video f the guys from Bungie riding the warthog. The thing looked good. would've loved to see the armor. whee
