They never made an Orange Islands-based game.
I've thought about that for a while. I mean, I know it only had four badges and all, and there weren't any new Pokemon, but I think it'd be a fun mini-game to have, just for giggles. (then again, just for giggles games, waits between the next bigger game, have never really gone over well)
But, think about it, they might be able to release one, since the Mystery Dungeon games were kind of like 'waits-between-real-games'. I think it'd be fun, even though you'd have Surf be the first HM ever. You could have a bunch of mini-games, and small islands with only certain Pokemon on them...

That's because the Orange Islands season was just a filler to get the Johto season ready. Hence why the Orange Islands only has four Badges instead of eight; 'cause the animation studio just needed to buy a bit more time so the Johto season could be released with GSC. :3

There was an actual Orange Islands manga/comic series though. (if you want to talk about the major differences between manga and the anime series... Pokemon is one of the biggest XD It's like, real versus fanfic or something, it's crazy-different)
Or was it that Pokemon was a game first, then a manga, then a series?

Well, Orange Islands was basically a filler... so that the Johto Journeys could be released with the game.... The indigo series was a somewhat short season. (Since it was only 1 big a** part as to 3 or 2 chapters like the other series.)

I stopped wanting one when they remade Red and Blue (AKA FR/LG). If they weren't going to put it in those, then they never were going to put it.
I would just enjoy a giant Pokemon game. Visit to all the lands.
Hey, with the memory card system, they could put out a series that copied/imported data with a previous game, or created a master Pokemon file, and have all the lands, including the Orange Islands and other non-existant, TV/Manga only lands on one disc, or something.
Sorry, my thoughts just completely rambled. I'm sure someone can translate them.

I also want one giant pokemon game. I liked gold/silver because you could travel between and the elite four weren't the end of challenges. But the whole world (would that include Orre?) would be an amazing game. I'd be thrilled with just being able to go through the entire Kanto/Johto/Sinnoh continent.
And if we couldn't do that maybe the next gc game for pokemon would allow you to plug in a preexisting game to access the region.

I'm not sure how we could go about suggesting something like this though. Hmm, I'm going to see about mailing Nintendo. >_> I had a friend that used to mail Nintendo directly and they would send him stuff sometimes. o.o
