Something''s been bugging me for a while. I was reading a few spoilers because i was curious. (As Roy would say, it was misplaced curiosty.) (spoiler: highlight to read) In one spoiler of episode 51, it said Roy was Brigadier General. In a spoiler of the movie, it said Roy was a corpral. This would make no sense because corpral (yes, my spelling and typing skills are horible) is much, much, much lower rank than Brigadier General. I asked my friends about this and she said he is a general. WHAT THE HECK IS HE IN THE MOVIE?!! I am flipping confused!!!Mustang in the Movie :Click here for a link to the movie Picture:

(Spoiler. :Highlight to read smile
I'm pretty sure that he is a BG... I've not heard that he was a Corporal... I imagine that he was placed forward in rank to BG because the Furher was killed.
But I could be wrong... I've not seen the movie.

(Spoiler, Highlight to read ^ ^)
Now I'm not accurate on this since I haven't seen the movie yet, but I use to know that sometimes when in a war or something like that, sometimes higher ranks will 'fake' their ranks so they aren't so noticable. It could be why he has such a low rank in that movie. Another thing could be the military system really changed causing ranks to shift, once again I'm not so sure on this. Hopefully when we all get the chance to see the movie, it will be more clearer to understand...

*shrug* Try to research some more things. You can't always count on one or two sources.
(Highlight smile I am most certain that Roy is a BG.

Actually, on Fullmetal-Alchemist.com, they have confirmed Roy's rank (because some of their staff was in Japan and watched the movie when it debuted). Read further for the spoilers(highlight): Roy is indeed a corporal. This can be verified by looking at his badge, which consists of a single yellow line and a single star. The badge on the shoulders indicates the rank, and at FullmetalAlchemist.info, they have most of the military's ranks with their corresponding badges shown there under the 'military' section. Corporal isn't listed, but if you look at the badge for the rank of seargant, you'll realize that it's just like the one that Roy has, except that Roy has one less star on his badge. Riza is, judging from some screens, a seargant instead of a first lieutenant because she has only one yellow stipe on her badge with two stars, meaning she outranks Roy.
Now, why would Roy be a corporal and Riza a seargant, you ask? Well, remember how Roy had Havoc and Co. disguised as him and Riza up in the northern border, and had them pull some sort of mutiny? Well, even though no one except Roy and his closest subordinates knows what really happened to Fuhrer Bradley, the military DOES know that "Roy" (i.e. Havoc in a wig) tried to raise a mutiny against them. This might have lead to Roy and Riza's demotion, however, there's more to it than that. In the movie summary supplied by Fullmetal-Alchemist.com, Roy is currently hiding in the north, where it's all snowy and stuff. He's stopped using alchemy, because it reminds him of his foolishness when he had killed Fuhrer Bradley. Havoc and the others visit him in a cabin during a part of the movie (minus Riza, she's elsewhere) and try to convince him to come back to the military and be a colonel or something like that. Roy refuses, although later in the movie, when Central is being attacked by Zeppelins (the German planes that crossed over from the other side of the gate) Roy comes out of nowhere and starts blowing those things to hell. xp It's supposed to be a really kickass scene in the movie, too. Around this time, he starts barking out orders like a colonel again, and the soldiers salute him, Riza smiling at him as she salutes.
Oh my, I'm rambling again. But either way, I believed we learned some important things here...
1.) Roy is a corporal 2.) Riza is a seargant (I have no idea what the ranks of Havoc and the others are, because I don't have any images of them from the movie)
And last but not least...
3.) Roy PWNS Zeppelins. twisted
Ahem... I hope that answers any questions... sweatdrop
