Sonic the Hedgehog has been announced.
I'm really not surprised at all.
It was inevitable...
There's also a video
(it's at the bottom of the character page).
I haven't been the hugest fan of Sonic's games,
but I think it's pretty awesome that the music selected
for that video is the theme from Sonic Adventure 2,
titled "Live and Learn."
I'll admit... I would have preferred if they remixed
the Green Hill Zone music or something...
However! The fact that the music is in the video does not mean
that will be the music in his stage (if he does indeed have one).
There could be hope for some other jingle yet.
It would also seem that Sonic's Final Smash
involves transforming into Super Sonic.
Also, I'm sure many people are disappointed
that Tails is not paired with Sonic, as an Ice Climber-like duo.

I saw Sonic coming from a mile away (Oh! I'm so punny).
I don't like Sonic, but I know he's popular.
Anyway, my predictions for the 3rd parties...
1) Geno (HUGE Nintendo Fanbase, and Sakurai see's him as first party. Still 3rd technically...)
2) MegaMan (Huge fanbase, and has strong roots with Nintendo. I'll be very disappointed if Mega doesn't make the cut)
3) Simon Belmont/Castlevania Rep (A huge tie to Nintendo, and huge success on Nintendo's systems. Was also on the polls, and would make an awesome addition to Brawl. Only problem: He's Konami, and we may already have our Konami rep. Which is fine. I heart Snake).
So, grats on for you Sonic fans. smile Looks pretty cool. He'll probably be the fastest character in the game, next to Fox, but his lack of a projectile may hurt him on the tiers.

I'll live with it, as long as we have another Ice Climber-like duo. What possibilities are there for it? But Sonic is in Brawl, so I'm happy. His intro video is amazing. megaman, i want.
castlevania, never played the game, dont really care.
geno on the other hand... as awesome as i think he is... i dont think he's very representative of square at all. if anyone they would go with chrono or something ( not cloud cuz he hasnt appeard on a nintendo console )

I'm torn on how I feel about sonic being in the game. The new additions to Smash are great but it's started to feel less like Smash. Don't get me wrong I Loved sonic as a kid and still do but Sonic for the sega and the later releases on the Nintendo platforms are so..Different. I'd be more excited over the 2d sonic xD

This did not surprise me one bit.
I knew they were going to put him, like I've said before.
They are having the Mario Vs. Sonic at the Olympics game so it just makes sense to me.

His only problem that I can see is that when you use the Up-B move the spring stays there for others to use.
