"Phib..." He repeated, then Ameh continued and Ona found a smile working its way onto his face. Well a mate of Ameh had to be a friend, she was sweet and gentle. Such a lovely lioness would never have a horrible mate.

He had to admit, though, Phib did look a bit raggedy around the edges. He had obviously been a rogue for far too long.

"Of course!" Ona replied. "I was hoping to see you again. I think it's time." He had seemed to gain a confidence now. He knew what he was talking about, as all Ela's did. "We need to get you all permission to stay, though I'm not sure who that is. All I know is that the Ela in charge must have arrived by now." Maybe Wally would know...oh he did miss that black lioness. He wondered if she and her friend were okay.

"Once we find out who she is, then we'll ask for you to join the pride officially. Then the clan can start being revived." He purred happily. "Have you seen any other Ela'wadiyian lions, Ameh? Phib?" He was pretty sure his other friends hadn't seen he was with them most of the time.

Rehema smiled pleasantly enough, though the confusion in the lioness' behavior was clear in her raised brow. She behaved much the way a cub might... of course Rehema kept very selective company in the pridelands, associating mainly with other huntresses. The lionesses in charge of cubsitting held themselves proudly s well. A quiet, strong tone was set for them...at least in the older days. There was no order now.

She quietly pushed her thoughts back, seating herself to allow Ona to catch up with his friends. Relaxed, but no less aware of the area.

"I don't need no permission." Malik grunted, "I'm not plannin' on joinin'. Not for a while at least. I gotta go an' find mah bruddah... jus' lookin' after ya two kiddos till ya stop suckin on yer paws long enough for me to run a few errends." He chuckled a bit.

This all was news to the green lion, whom instantly [and somewhat untactfully, for he prided himself on handing such situations] shot a glance towards the back of Amedia’s head. Just what exactly was she fiddling around with in these lands? Sure they’d been here for a while- but what exactly was she playing with? For a lioness that did so much to appear submissive and humble, she manipulated the hell out of him.

Amedia shrunk slightly and smiled, thrumming somewhere in the back of her mind. Oh, they’d have words later she imagined. Her head craned towards him, and somewhat apologetically she filled him in. “Vaderise- should get permission to stay on these lands.”

The old lion furrowed his brow and shifted. “If that’s what you want.” He inflected, although the point to it didn’t seem to be anything more then a formality. They’d been living around these parts for months now and the lions here seemed no less reclusive then it had ever been. But, then again- maybe that was her reasoning. She had a habit towards anthropology if he let her.

Amedia shifted, the end of her tail curving a bit as she did. “I have seen others, when I go out to find herbs. But sparse,” She frowned. “But I think others come still, however.” She could feel the life, undeniably.

Tawa'di was once again roaming. When he had stepped up (or maybe a little bit pushed, he couldn't remember anymore) to take hold of the leadership of the few Ela'wadiyi that lived in their new lands, he didn't realize that he would be roaming so much. What torture to an old lion! Somehow, by the grace of the gods, he was still fit enough to do some walking every day. That didn't mean that he'd really make it to his 'home' every night, but the old nvwati never worried about the rogues that wandered into the land. Some would call him foolish, but he just but an unwavering trust in all that he met.

Today, with the late morning above him, he found himself just passing the great stream that cut their lands in half, noticing that there was quite a gathering of lions before him. Hmmm? He was too far away to really see if any of them were of Ela'wadiyi descent, but soon enough he'd make his way there. Step by step.

It wasn't that he was walking slow. He was just going at the pace that didn't waste a lot of his energy. Which could seem a bit slow to the youthful group of lions that Tawa'di came across now a days.

Ona'raha looked saddened that Malik wasn't going to join them. He had enjoyed the big lion's company so much, even if he had embarrassed him from time to time. Things just wouldn't be the same without him here. He glanced to Rehema but was distracted by the continual chatter between Ameh and Phib.

His ears flicked. "I'm sure you're right Ameh." Ona'raha agreed, curling his tail with appreciation. It always made him feel happier knowing that others were still around, Wally included. If they had a leader then even better! He was eager to see his clan grow again and even eager to set things on the move for the pride.

Seeing it grow again helped ease the pain of his past losses. It helped him forget.

"Let's go and find them then." He said, hooking his chin over Rehema's neck. He had not yet noticed the approaching Ela, but certainly, someone else was about to.

"Permission." Rehema chuckled, "Well you didn't tell me there was an authority here, Ona." She glanced over at him a bit, then curved her neck to allow him to rest his chin on it. He was such an odd little lion. Far more affectionate than she was used to, but it was a welcome oddity.

An ear rolled towards the back of her head quickly followed by a growl. They weren't alone. The lioness whirled her head around towards the sound, both ears pinning back and teeth bearing out of instinct. She was still very much a huntress at heart and she did not like surprises.

Malik glanced over, following Rehema's gaze. Another male? Seemed a pretty low ratio of males to lionesses. At least from what he'd seen. "Ey... we got ourselves a stalker."

A feeling pulsed through the white lioness’s back as the older male approached. Life- but strained and worn like ancient stones. She tended to sense life about her in intermittent intervals- but it was only when Rahima and the other male spoke to it that she recognized that the pulsing moved towards them.

The green brute reacted as well- although he did not quite grab the humor in the younger lion’s comment. His mustached jaw shifted at a hinge, but did not take an aggressive posture. The lions around these places hardly seemed the threatening sort. “Unlikely,” The male’s low and sand-papery voice flecked humorlessly. He rose to all fours, despite the slight dull throb in his bad leg- and took a few steps forward. From behind him, Amedia peered curiously.

The lion stood still, his tail shifting. Another Ela, now that the tattoos were in sight. A set of ruby eyes rolled in the direction of Ona. The young fellow was likely to know this one; so he kept his manners and dipped his head in acknowledgment of the elder male approaching. He had to admit- it had been a while since he’d found himself in the company of someone who made him the younger.

Amedia grinned, almost shyly, from behind the large green curtain between her and the other lion. “Hello,” She chirped.

The old lion's ears swiveled around in the air, catching bits of sound from the group, but unable to tell exactly what they were saying. And no bit of wishing would let his seer-abilities help him now. It seemed that since the lands had replensihed enough for some sustained life, they had grown silent. Was it that there were no other lost children trying to return home? Perhaps, though I piece of him missed it. There was nothing more satisfying, in his eyes, to welcome someone home.

He did manage to catch the hello that a petite lioness offered towards him. Lightly, but he was able to hear it. He offered a bow of his head, his still-thick mane flowing gently forwards, and then back when he raised his head up again. At least, he was close enough to be able to hear them, and speak to them.

"Is there any way I can help your group, my friends?" he said, offering an extension of his paw as emphasis. Here he was completely exposed, but the old lion was foolish enough to trust all that entered these lands. He pinned it on the fact that he almost never felt ill-will in anything he crossed anymore. Perhaps the issues that had driven them to these lands had made the gods change their mind, who knew.

Ona turned his head, surprised by the sudden buzz of energy the little group had aquired. Someone was approaching? "Who--?" He was cut off at the sight of the elder, his tattooed body a great joy to his eyes. Another of his kind had survived!

"He's no stalker Malik." Ona nudged his larger counterpart, hoping that the elder Ela'wadiyian hadn't been close enough to hear the remark. Then, stepping up beside Ameh, the young Ela bowed his head respectfully.

"Perhaps you can, sir." He glanced at the white lioness, hoping that she wouldn't be upset for his interruption on her greeting, before returning the Ela's gaze.

"I am Ona'raha Subiani, son of A'kiutu Subiani and Fa'moyo Abadan, former member of the Shadow Clan." An Ela introduction could be a long one. "Rehema," he indicated her with a tilt of his head. "Is my mate and the one standing with her is Malik." He stepped sideways slightly to reveal the white female and her odd-coloured mate. "And these two are Ameh and Phib. They are rogues who have settled here unofficially, along with myself. Please, sir, could you tell us where we can go to find the one who can grant us an official place here?"

Rehema's posture slowly relaxed as she listened to the exchange between the newcomer and Ona. If he was comfortable with him then very well. She'd stand down. The lioness corrected her posture into a more polite sit, shoulders rolled back and head lifted up. Her ears settled to a more comfortable position on her head, though she didn't lift them entirely.

Once Ona had introduced them she spoke up, "Indeed. It seems this place is low in number... and at least one of your members is in need of a strong paw to guide him into the art of hunting." She winked towards Ona a bit playfully. "I have no will-intentions of this place. I simply seek somewhere quiet to settle down into."

"I ain't stayin' for too long." Malik added as well. "Jus' came tah make sure Reh 'ere got all nice n' recovered. I'mma go find mah bruddah. Whatever happens with dat'll kinda decide if I wanna come back. We'll talk 'bout dat if it happens, no?"

Tawa'di was a bit surprised with the flood of introductions and what not. He lightly recognized the name of the tattooed lion, but it was little more than a tickle in his mind.

He offered a short bow to each of them, pleased to know each of their names. Once he had all that settled away in his mind, a small chuckle escaped his throat. "Well, if you are looking for the elder, you've certainly found him," he replied.

He shook his head. "Our leader was lost, and I have merely stepped in to help, though I am no natrual leader. I'm Tawa'di Kanati, the nvwati of these lands that has seen more than the others left." He offered a deeper bow to Ona'raha. "Though, because I can read your tattoos, you must be one of the ones taht wandered from the path of our exodus. It is pleasing to see that you have found yourself in our new homelands." It was odd, how they seemed to find their way home again so simply. Was there a bit of diving guiding? Perhaps, but Tawa'di would never know.

"Can I help your group in any detail, Ona'raha?" Since they had found who they were looking for, was there anything more he could assist with?

Ona's eyes widened. They had found the Nvwati! Feeling suddenly nervous, unprepared for such a meeting. He staggered forwards a little, bowed his head.

"It is wonderful to speak with you Tawa'di Kanati." He wasn't sure if he recognised the name or not. He had been a mere cub when the plague had hit and he'd been focused mainly on story telling and the like. However, he didn't doubt the male's abilities and upon drawing up his head again he smiled, felt a little more relaxed now that the shock was over.

"Yes, I came here along the path, though not alone." He smiled faintly, thinking of the male who had accompanied him for a while. The male who had died along the way. He remembered the lonliness, the grief of losing his parents and the fear of never finding the land he was trying to get to. "Perhaps I can share my story with you one day. I know many stories that my mother taught me, but none are more meaningful than those of truth." He didn't mind sharing his tale with the others here but that was not the reason for their meeting.

"My mate and I wish to settle here." Ona gestured towards Rehema, somewhat shyly. Calling her mate was still so new, so strange. But it brought warmth to his heart. "Now I have found my way here I never wish to leave it. I want to live here, raise...a family." He swallowed, hoped Rehema wouldn't beat him for saying it. "But only with your blessing."

"And Ameh and Phib, they wish to stay also, to become members of the Shadow Clan. Is such a thing allowed, Tawa'di Kanati?"

The female quietly observed as the two spoke. The older male seemed so sad... it must be lonely with so few lions. The way he spoke gave the impression that there'd been a disaster earlier on in the history of the pride. Ona was orphaned... his entire clan gone. It must not have been easy, and the pride would have had every right to be suspicious of newcomers such as herself and Malik.

The male, on the other hand, still addressed the situation with his informal, and often times crude, attitude. "Ech... ya guys got th' same luck as our old place. Leader got whacked right in th' middle of their pride's lands. Guy was my uncle, didn't much know 'em but was a shame anyway, ya?"

"Malik." Rehema shot the male a sharp glare before turning to face the elder. "Sorry about him. As Ona'raha has mentioned, I'd like to settle here with him. It seems the place could use a huntress at the very least." She flicked her tail, brushing the tip of it against Ona's paw playfully, "The poor lad didn't even seem to know how to roar properly."

"Aye 'e didn't." Malik agreed. "Was like tryin' tah squeak or somethin'."

Amedea shifted her shoulders and bowed her head down. It was tragic to hear that sickness had caused this male to take charge. Something she knew well by now- but every time the tragedy was mentioned, she couldn’t help but feel a slight twinge of guilt. She’d been greatly wounded herself when the great plague had coursed through the land- and it troubled her to think that there was perhaps more she, or any of the other gods, could have done to help these lands and the many others like them.

But before she could speak, Phib did.

“We have no need to trouble such a wounded people.” His thick voice thrummed. “But if it wishes aide, as seems to be the intent of my mate, we would be happy to offer whatever talents we have. Although,” He remarked rather humorlessly. “I’m not much more then an old man now.”

“He’s modest.” Amedea corrected. “I am a healer. It might be the only thing I do well, but it is what I do.” She smiled, and dipped her head respectfully. “Together, we’ve traveled very far. I would be very eager to provide any aide and information we can, to both the shadow clan and the rest of your people.”

Tawa'di paused for a moment, letting the introductions and mild pleas filter through his mind. All good reasons, and all seemed to carry truth in their hearts. It was a bit more strength that the Ela'wadiyi needed. Love in the people that lived in these lands, and to keep them safe as well as welcoming to all that entered their borders.

"I have heard your reasons," he said, giving himself a pause to stretch out a paw. Old age certainly made everything ache a bit more, and get your mind off track at times. "And all are welcoming to my ears. Ona'raha, Rehema, Ameh, Phib. You all are welcome here, to live and thrive as you wish. Malik as well, until he is ready to leave on his journey. It will be comforting to know that the Shadow clan will return and flourish, perhaps to the volume that it was before our migration."

He creatively didn't include what had happened before they moved from their old pride lands to these new ones. Tawa'di did not want to bring worry to these new members if they had not herd of it. If they were curious, he would tell them, but for now they would need to focus on their new home and the revival of their clan.

"Welcome home."
