So, due to the massive inactivity of this guild, I took it upon myself to create the guild and IRC channel on my favorite IRC network. ; )

For all you people who already use IRC, this should be fairly simple:

#mydesign on irc.alexis-irc.net

or irc://irc.alexis-irc.net/mydesign

For those who don't:

IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat, and is basically a chat system that allows hundreds of people to converse in one room, under the control of Ops to prevent anarchy ; ). (it's not as scary as it sounds =P)

Here is a link to a Java client for the channel, should take you right to it. (For those who do not wish to download a proper IRC client... yet...)

Or if you do want to Download a real client:

XChat: (Shiny <3)

mIRC: (Not so shiny, but more features)
http://mirc.com/ <- also tells you a bit about IRC

Also, if no one's there, try stick around, it'll help towards getting the channel active. gonk
Otherwise join the #gaia channel, always lots of people there. ; )

I love IRC, I use mIRC and sure maybe not such a good interface, but that can be changed smile

I like mIRC because even though it's not really freeware (nagware) it has abilities you usually only see with opensource smile

I'll have to check it out smile

why do you like that server btw?

I just looked at the Java chat, its a varient of Pjirc!

I use pjirc on my website, but that first page isn't needed, you can tell the applet what to connect to everytime it loads.

youd think that being able to pick would be helpful, but it confused some of my nontech-literate users, even though I listed the values.

I like the server because I am staff there, and it's mostly gaia-oriented; but not limited to. wink

Well, if it's not active and since it appears to me that Hoggs hasn't checked out this guild for a long time now, how does it sound if we delete this sticky since this post has become useless? I could look into opening up another IRC if you would like, but where it stands right now, do you want a useless post seeming like a important post for members to read? Especially while it's outdated?

I don't mean to be rude. It's just that I've been looking closer into the dates of some of these older topics and I'm thinking that this guild needs a little "clean-up;" that's all.
