((OOC: This would occur sometime before Raleigh's first mission. wink When Flood first appears and the rivalry isn't known.))
IC: Kimo was ANNOYED by this stupid Flood guy that had just appeared out of NO WHERE and was terrorizing HIS ISLAND! If anyone was going to terrorize anyone, it was his little terror fire spouter, not some random guy that just liked to disrespect the water and people and island and.... Ggrrr....
"Wailua! We've got a problem! Did you SEE the news last night?" Kimo's greeting to Daniel was unusually gruff. They were supposed to go out surfing... And it was one of those rare occassions that Kimo didn't even HAVE a surfboard with him, "Are we going to just LET that creature just go knocking around OUR island?" He demanded, "Any ideas to stop this nonsense?"

At first Daniel had thought that Kimo was merely overreacting. This guy couldn't be THAT much of a threat to them, could he?
Apparently, he was. It only took the Fire Evo a few seconds to see just how big a threat this 'Flood' was. That much damage, and in such a little amount of time! Jerk was just showing off, that was all. "How could I NOT see?!" He matched Kimo's level of anger and irritation. They would have to remedy this situation as soon as possible -they had to stop this guy before he got too high and mighty. They'd nknock him out of the running before he even got a chance to do any more damage. "Well, he likes chaos. Let's give him some chaos." A small fireball appeared and began floating around him.
"I say we show him just how out of his league we are."

"That's right, let's knock him!" Kimo rooted on Daniel. "You want the front attack, and I'll take the side one? Hit him head on, and I'll knock the water right out from his control!" Kimo suggested, but paused long enough to see if Daniel liked the idea.

"I love it!" Daniel cheered at the idea. If he got the first blast at the guy, he'd be filled with a sense of pride -nobody messed with his friend and got away with it. "Can we go now?" He began revealing the childlike excitement that he'd thought he'd permanently gotten rid of. "It can't be that hard to find a guy this full of himself."

"Can we?" Kimo asked with a laugh, "You're the front line, lead me!" The water around them was already surging with Kimo's power, "We'll knock him out so hard he won't want to come back ag----"
He was hushed by a sudden wave of water from no where the crashed into them both. It took him by surprised, but he moved the water off them quick enough, "GET HIM!!!" He sputtered angriily.

Daniel was about to reply to Kimo when a huge wave fell upon the both of them. It was quickly removed, and once he was free, the teen began sputtering. His mouth had been open when the water rushed at them. His eyes blazed with anger at the man. "DODGE THIS!" He dared the stranger, letting lose a flurry of fireballs rapid-fire, shooting them all at the same target. Even with water on his side, the man would lose. Daniel was sure of it.

While Kimo had well taught Daniel the fine art of egotism, he'd apparently forgotten the part about science and physics.
His attempt to get this man was laughable. So laughable that the man was holding his sides from his loud, deep laughing. All he'd needed to do, naturally, was quickly pull the water up. Ah, that and he'd pushed the water BACK in the direction the balls were coming, so now a large, fast-paced wave was coming with the sole purpose of targeting this little fire evolved. Oh, hehe... A fire evolved against a water evolved! Hahahaa!
But the wave fell apart bit by bit, so that it was just a little thing and not nearly as harmful as it had been when he'd started.
THAT wasn't so funny. What had happened? The man wobbled where he was. And WHY was the water not doing as he'd said? Well, then, it wasn't JUST fire was it?
Flood forcibly ripped the water out of Kimo's control, spurting it up in a large funnel, again coming toward the two. Kimo frowned shook his head, "He's blinding himself AND leaving his backside defenseless." He suggested to Daniel, sitting back himself. He wanted to see his boy in action!
OOC: It's SUPER early in the morning, if the bad writing of this post is BAD, I'll rewrite it if you like. wink

Fire plus water equalled not good for fire. That was something even toddlers could remember, yet in his rush to destroy the man, Daniel had completely forgotten the most important detail. He wouldn't forget again. At least he'd get to teach the jerk a lesson for laughing at him. "Keep him distracted for me, then, will ya?" The teen took Kimo's advice into consideration. He wasn't exactly the best at stealthy attacks from behind, but surely he could pull it off.
The ground was covered in the castoff water from the two Water Evos. Kimo and the water funnel would provide him enough cover to get close to the jerk, and give him enough time to let lose a flurry of potentionally-lethal blasts. He skidded and slid around, using the wet ground to get him where he wanted to go faster. It was just like skating, after all. He decided to give the newcasters something to talk about. Dual fireballs formed and grew in his hands. It took a while to store up enough power for larger attacks. The man had to keep a certain amount of concentration on the water, or else Kimo would gain control over it and send the man reeling back.
Daniel slid behind the man and let the two fireballs loose. They split, becoming ten smaller balls instead of two large ones. Each ball was in control of a separate finger. He had gained enough control over them so that he could dictate how big each was. The two in control of his thumbs were slightly larger than the rest. These he sent last, after flinging the other eight directly at the distracted man.
This, he hoped, would have more success than his first attempt. If not, there was always Plan C.

There certainly wasn't anymore laughter coming from the water evolved. Powerful, uncontrolled surges was where he was strong. That meant that he easily threw the water around, but wrestling for control of it was an entirely different story. And he had to do that while fire balls were being thrown at him? Even within his element, the man felt wobbly.
Still, Kimo's strong points were the opposite of this man's. Kimo simply didn't have the raw power that he did and when Flood began to panic because those fireballs were CLOSE, he successfully tore water back in his control.
Now, when kids are playing tug of war and one suddenly lets go, the person still holding on gets flung back. When evolved adults are playing tug of war with their powers and one suddenly lets go. . .
Flood hit the ground, ducking from the fireballs just in time. The water around him surged backwards as it reared itself for a powerful, massive, uncontrolled wave. Flood looked behind him in surprise, and let go control of the water, but it was already in motion.
Kimo cursed, "LOOK OUT!!"

Daniel cursed fluently after his attack had missed its target. He continued upon realizing the other two's fight was now his problem. Caught in the direct path of an enormous wave, he started running. There was no way he could outrun the monstrosity, but the farther he got from the bottom of the wave, the less water would collapse onto his head. When there seemed to be no time left, he kept running.
The wave was almost upon him already. Only one thing left he could do. He couldn't hope to get rid of all the water by himself, but he could at least get rid of enough of it so that the full force of the wave didn't hit him dead-on. Suddenly, he turned to face the wave. This would probably be the best position, right? He quickly shoved his arms in front of him. A semi-thick wall of flames shot up to protect him just as the wave made its final descent.
The contact between the opposing forces made a thick cloud of steam form. However, there was too much water. Even with his attempts to evaporate the attack, the teen was still hit with a rather large amount of water. It knocked him down and sent him back a ways.
When he got up, he was yet again drenched and coughing up salt water. He was obviously less than happy about his current predicament. "I'm fine, keep going!" He yelled to Kimo. The last thing he wanted was for the jerk to win just because the wailua was preoccupied worrying about him.

The fact of the matter was that the wave hadn't crashed too hard onto Daniel because Kimo had grabbed and strained to hold it back. He hadn't even thought to consider what Flood was up to.
Flood had pinpointed the water evolved that was messing his game up. How DARE he! And he was going to go down. Right now. Taking a long knife from inside his belt, he was lumbering after the tired Kimo with fury in his eyes.

Daniel was quickly back on his feet, unharmed. Dripping and soggy, but unharmed. Now where had that annoying man gone? It was obvious that he had moved while the fire Evo had been preoccupied, but where was he now? The glint of metal in the sunlight hit Daniel's eyes hard. At first, he thought it was some sort of badly-placed debris. But once he got a good look at it, the teen realized what it really was.
"Kimo!" He exclaimed, trying to drag the man's attention back to his opponent. "Watch out!" A knife, of all things. Obviously this guy didn't even have enough confidence in his wown powers to fight them straight-out.

Kimo's list of bad ideas just grew by one. When Daniel yelled for him to watch out, he turned to see what he was watching for. Intelligent, Kimo. Flood roared and rushed forward to the man, knife now facing toward soft, unprotected skin rather than the back and spine.
OOC: I would have gone on. . .but that just looked like a good stopping point. =P *dangles on the cliff*

"Kimo!" He shouted in vain. By this point, shouting wouldn't do anything to help either of them. All he could do was shoot as much as he could, as fast as he could, and hope that at last one of them would make contact. He knew he'd pay for this later, but at the moment, it didn't matter. The teen shot fireball after fireball as he ran toward the two. The jerk was in the direct path -he didn't worry about hitting Kimo. The best outcome would be blasting the other guy and stopping him before he could do anything with the knife.

Where had that come from? One of Daniel's fireballs somehow managed to go the long distance from where Daniel was standing to where the two where, and to knock the knife head on. The other fireballs weren't even halfway to their mark.
Kimo wasn't going to wait around to figure out what was going on. He kicked the man's shins, and turn to run, leaving him hopping on one foot, and leaving him to get trashed by the fireballs.
He used the water to propel himself quickly to Daniel. By the time he'd gotten there, Flood had fallen back in the water to douse out the fire...and then had the water take him out.
Kimo smiled. He'd fled. "That's my wailua!"
