So, somewhere along the line, recently, I have started loosing my interest in MCR. Sometimes I feel ashamed and I listen to what hаters say about the guys and it makes me feel like I suck. I really want to like them now like I used to. I want to feel proud as a fan and have that special connection again.
So thats where you come in. Post videos, messages, etc. that could help me (or anyone else going through the same) return to loving the guys.
I know I'm not so good at explaining...but I miss being a big MCR fan emo

I’m curious, what exactly are the haters saying that are appealing to you? I’d be easier to give reasons why that’s not try/ not important/ not so bad if I had some examples to go off. But in regards to the band itself I think the best way to rekindle your love for them would be to get the heck out of the fandom. Shun other fans like the PLAGUE. I don’t know what’s been up with people these past few months, but it’s almost becoming a poison to the band. Too many people are getting too warped up in all the wrong things. The focus has been on all of the unimportant details recently like who Gerard Way is dating/marring. But that’s not why we got into the band. Just think back to what it is that first caught your attention. A video? A song? An interview? Go look at whatever that was and don’t think about anything else. Don’t think about what other people are saying about it, don’t think about what other people are saying about the band members, just think about why you like that song or video or whatever. There was a reason, there must have been a reason. But don’t get all nostalgic and start pining for the way it used to be, or I’ll be forced to kick you. Next, when you’ve reconnected with the music, take a trip down memory lane and get reacquainted with les bois. Take a look at some old mag scans (some I just randomly picked off TIP: 1 , 2, 3, 5 (this one’s great) and 6.) Again, don’t get melancholic for the days of yore. If you’re wondering why they guys seems to have been so much more personal things to say back then just remember that back then there weren’t thousands of squealing fangirls trying to get to know every last detail about these people. Back then the guys weren’t being interviewed by people who don’t care about the band but just want to sell copies. They didn’t have to be guarded back then. Doesn’t mean that they’ve changed completely as people, it just means that they’ve learned to keep that part of themselves out of the limelight. Also go youtube hoping and watch some interviews. I suggest anything that has to do with SURS, new and old. And then, after all that, think about how AWESOME your fellow hitmen are *coughcough* and how without MCR there would be no hitmen. If you do all that you still haven't found that spark again, then maybe it's time to take a break from the band. Maybe you'll come back to it in a month, 6 months, a year and find that you fall in love all over again. But then again, maybe you won't. Don't feel bad though, and don't feel ashamed. People's tastes change, it's a fact. Sometime you are really into something and one day you find that you're over it. I hope that's not the case here of course, but you can't beat yourself up over it if it is. I put so much effort into this post... I hope it helps...

Thank you so much =)
I'll try it.
The deal was that a lot of MCR fans were being retards and giving us fans a bad name. And then all the haters would have something to do and be like "MCR is a crap band just created by the media to make little wimpy posers who are too scared to kill themselves feel like they belong by saying 'Mcr saved my life'" crap like that.
Plus, I'm also into another band quite a lot right now.
I'll look at the interviews you posted. And watch some videos.

*Headdesk* Dude, I'm sure I had 6 articles there... I CAN COUNT, I REALLY CAN! See: 1, 2, 5... erm... [/monty python reference]
Oooo, what other band? I'm always looking for new bands to listen to.
I laugh at anyone who says MCR are a media creation. Media creations don't take chances. They don't get weird. They don't write songs like Prison or Mama. And they sure a ******** don't put as much effort into every last detail like MCR do. Not to mention that you can pretty much track their evolution from Bullets to Revenge to TBP as a band and as people. If some company steped in that evolution wouldn't be there. And if they're a media creation why don't we see them whoring themselve out left and right? Where are the product tie ins and movie spots? If they were a media product Gerard Way wouldn't have a comic out, he'd have a crappy clothing line that sells for $75 a shirt.
As for the ever growing number of "oh god please don't associate me with those nutters" type fans, I'm kind of hoping they'll either get their heads on straight or clear out during that phase of nothingness between the end of TBP touring and the release of their next album. If there's nothing new and exciting going on maybe people who are in it for the wrong reasons will attach themselves onto some other it band of the moment, while others have time to get reacquainted with the music and get over trying to turn the band into celebrities that they can gossip about. And then of course there will be that large but quiet chunk of totally awesome fans who may choose this time to re-emerge from hiding and re-establish the awesomeness of the fandom. I CAN HAPPEN. I KNOW IT CAN!

I know what you mean. I don't think they're created by the media. But I have my doubts sometimes that it would be all a lie... But I'm getting better than that. And anyway, most of the people who say stuff like that are people fed on rumors and stuff and hate Gerard for falling in love with LynZ instead of whoever they wanted. Which explains things.
I dunno. It first started out as a break, but now I haven't been really into them. I hope i still am.

Carla: It wasn't so much of a rant as a long winded opinion really...
Sarah (What is it you want to be called now?): Well, you can't really force it. You're just going to have to go with what your tastes tell you. And even if you drop into the realm of 'very casual sorta fan' thing, we'll still love you.
And of course, there is the slight chance that everything they say is a lie, there's always that chance for everything. But if that's the case it's a damn good lie and I'm quite happy believing in it. I take what I want out of this band regardless of who the band members are behind closed doors. As long as they're not trafficking sex slaves or kicking puppies or anything.

Nah, just call me Sarah, it's easier xD I agree. I'm better at it now. Reading this article in this mag I have made me feel a whole lot better. And thinking about the concert.
I have this thing that i can make myself into what I want it to be. In my head, Mikey was at my concerts (he took off the day right before my show...bummer D smile and Gerard isn't married (I have nothing against it, but since it doesn't involve me, I don't care). I don't know. I'm weird.

Sarah it is! Quote: I have nothing against it, but since it doesn't involve me, I don't care xd Ah, if only more people would take that outlook on it... Aw, that sucks that he left so close to your show. At my show he'd been gone for a bit already, but the day before, man that's annoying. Well, as long as you're feeling better, that's good ^^

Hah, I didn't look at the site before my show. I actually thought Matt was Mikey. I was like "WHY IS HE HIDING BEHIND THE AMPS?!?"
Ah, I'm glad I think like that. It helps me not get too upset. I mean, I do care and recognize marages and such. But I honestly don't give too much a crap, because it doesn't affect my relationship with them. Unless it does (like making them quit band etc.)

He does kind of look like Mikey doesn't he?
Yes, I'll cut their wives/ girlfriends all the slack in the world, but should they ever start interfering with the band THERE WOULD BE HELL TO PAY. The gloves are also off if any of them act like asses to the fans on a regular basis for no legitimate reason. But then I'd need a lot pretty good evidence. But unless they're affecting the band there's just no good reason to let if affect your opinion of the band. Point final.

Yeah. My friend had a deal where they were "being mean". But apparently it was twisted up by kid who hate mcr and there were some agrivating fans who wanted to touch everything on stage and stuff. D:
Yeah. I feel its stupid to go "OMG GERARDS BACK ON DRUGS CAUSE HE GOT MARRIED OMG HE HATES WOMEN CAUSE HE MADE OUT WITH HIS WIFE OMGOMGOMG I HATE HIM!!!!!!!" like some kids have been doing. Seriosly. Why would he do that? He has no reason to start being not-girlpower and back on drugs. lol stupid fans.
