riat (ree-at) -m.m.c. in my story 'little rabbit'. *note: 'little rabbit' is rated r for mature themes, but the character descriptions will be pg 13 at most*
riat is an orphan who grew up in the slums of the city and, due to his magnetic personality, drew a group of people together to fight for the citizens of the city. (a/n: so he's similar to robin hood)
physically: tall, muscular, tanned, freckled, slanted eyes emotionally: friendly, protective, rational, dedicated family: loving parents raised him until they died when he was 12 friends: ten close comrades who are in the group, acquaintances elsewhere in the city. fears: failing people who need him peculiarities: he likes to be alone, he's a terrible judge of character/doesn't want to see that people can be horrible
*the story picks up with him rescuing tiera*
throughout the novel, he deals with betrayal and wrestles with the realization that he can't protect everyone.

What sort of event do you have planned when he realizes he can't save or protect everyone?

well, he realizes it before the book starts with various deaths.. his parents, his last love interest, friends over the years. it's more of an acceptance issue.
there's a part in the story where the rebels have a chance to escape the Inner City and move on to freedom and riat has to make the choice of staying and continuing to protect the Inner City citizens or leaving and being with tiera and the rest of the rebels.

Heh. I shouldn't find this humorous, but he's kind of like Batman and (at least movie) Spiderman with the whole "You can't save them all" thing.
