I stumbled across the thread for this guild when I went to WF to ask for help with this specific character. I randomly drew her and took a shine to her design (which is shockingly rare, for me, normally I declare "OH MAN THIS IS RUBBISH" and scrap it before I even finish) The main thing I'm concerned about is - is she overpowered? How to balance that? Name: Dana Age: 18 Gender: Female Hair: Silver, long, badly cut in places ((Read: Badly drawn)) Eyes: Black, expressive http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a113/Kitini/dana.jpg - origanal sketch http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a113/Kitini/2013.jpg - Resketch I did in a ShiPainter About: Dana originates from another world, Lioria, where she was a dark sorceress with control over all 6 Elements (Fire*, Ice, Water, Energy, Earth, Air) However, she was being manipulated by a creature from another realm (note: not world, realm - differance!) to open a portal so it could come out of banishment. Upon discovering this, Dana used her body as a key to the portal she had begun to open, sealing it closed. When most people die, they must face judgement from The Reaper. However, due to the manner Dana "died", this was effectively bypassed, as the portal spat her out in a new location, the world in which my stories take place - Thrae. She had lost control over 4 of the Elements, retaining control only over Fire and Air. During the transit, her face, neck and arm were badly damaged, so due to her vain nature, she covers the damaged areas. --- The issue of power with Dana is pretty clear then. Most characters can only just about control a single element, and she has perfect control over 2. But how could I balance this? I've already got notes saying she hits hard but her damaged arm is weaker than the other, and of course, the other damaged areas are sensitive. Outside of certain things being completely new to her and baffling her, she doesn't seem to have any other weaknesses. For those who are interested, "Thrae" will be publishing some studies soon, that er...might somehow find their way onto our internet >_>; *I'm aware fire isn't actually an element but a chemical reaction. I actually paid attention during chemistry, because it usually meant mixing various chemicals and note the reactions - I wanted to make sure I didn't blow up the classroom or something, because I'd have never lived it down. Incidentally, I did flood the lab once, with my chemical mixture that foamed...and wouldn't stop...but was thankfully harmless, just proving to be effective at cleaning the desk...and the floor...and the carpet outside...and everything in between...I think I know why I was not allowed to handle the chemicals again for almost a year XD

I like this character. She's pretty original. 3nodding
I think that the damages that she sustained when she "died" serve pretty decently to make sure that she's not too powerful. If she still had all of her powers, then, yes, that would be an issue, but she doesn't, so I think that it's okay for her to have powers over more than one element. mrgreen
*btw, haha, Chemistry class blunders. xd Once, I broke a bottle and spilled base all over my hand. Good thing that it wasn't the one filled with hydrochloric acid or I probably wouldn't be typing right now. rofl

Thrae must be some other dimension of earth?
I like it, not too powerful, that's where she comes from, if she was someone like everyone else then I might say she was but here it's perfect.
Oooh that's what you meant by elements, because fire is an element if you're talking about the classical five elements

I wasn't feeling too creative when I came up with Thrae. Unfortunately...it stuck XD
@Maruul, you're right - I came up with a decent amount of background, but outside of that, we still know very little about her...*pulls out notepad* Time to get thinking again biggrin

make sure the personality has to do with her background, hah I'm sure you knew that sweatdrop
About Thrae, it's good, unless it has no absolute connection to Earth or whatever because readers will find out and wonder if there is a connection. I guess that could be interesting though, but you could disspaoint some theorists xp

Yes, it took me this long to come up with the answers. Sorry to bump the old topic, it just makes more sense than creating a new one. When I'm on a creative "MUST FIND THE ANSWER!!!!!11one!!" rampage, I tend to distance myself from the internet a bit, hence the sudden disappearance. Sowwy ^^;;
Background...
-Youngest of 6 siblings (most families tried to have 6 kids, part of the culture, considering it revolved around the number 6 a lot - 6 Gods, 6 Elements...6 children.)
-Parents were well respected
She went around the world, learning as much about magic as she could, which obviously meant her stretching out into the other elements, something not generally done, considering that a lot of belief circled around the 6 elements causing great disaster when used together, either by a single person or any number of people. A bit of a taboo, more than anything. Despite this (keeping it quiet from each person she approached) she managed to learn to tame all 6 elements, and decided other people should embrace such a wonderful life - the elements made it a lot easier for her to control most, if not all, aspects of her life (within reason, she couldn't do much about other people...yet.)
Dark Sorceress:
In her own head, she was anything but "dark", imagining herself more of a pioneer, freeing the world from its ridiculous beliefs, and uniting the world into a perfect harmony. Predictably, she eventually went a little nuts from the sheer amount of energy, leading to her once (actually, quite pleasant) mission into failure and subsequent mass executions.
Elements Manifesting:
Pre-death, she could control what form each element took, depending on what she wanted.
Now, fire takes on the form of bladed weaponry - spears, swords, that kinda thing - whilst air acts more like a shield. She can combine the two into either a supercharged attack (of much pain for her opponent AND herself >_>; ) or as a method of flight.
Personality:
Well, we'll just work from NOW, I'm sure you've figured out what she was like before she died.
As before her mad power trip, she's very kind, and wants what's best for those around her. Unfortunately, like before, she's not...quite sure what "the best" is for other people. Hey, they like world domination, right? No? Oh. Obviously, she's a bit "bwuh?" when it gets to a lot of concepts in this new world. She's vane, as I've stated, taking quite a bit of pride in her appearance, though not as much as before.
Phew...well, that's what took me since September to think up. Who'd have thought I'm so slow at this? ...To be fair, I normally develop several characters simultaneously, which is probably why this feels like it took so much longer than usual. That, or it's just an odd character. One of the two.
Comments? Suggestions? Etc, etc?
