Cooking is kind of magical. I dread doing it always, but when I do I always feel more satisfied. Like finally something that I exactly want. I eat from the dining hall on a regular basis, and it's not the best. D: No, I do try stuff off of the short order list here. xd NWCC has a better menu, haha. Bonus of having a meal card deal is that I can use it anywhere on campus and there is this sweet little candy/convience store in the school that sells stamps. heart And uh, tons of candy.
Anyways! I made some chicken tonight. =D Yeah, just chicken pretty much but it suits me just fine. Everyone else is super-hyped up on pasta. xd My rez man gave me some gyoza yesterday. :O Frozen stuff, but hey. Yummmm!
So what's your favourite thing to make for yourself? Me, I am the Queen of being a plain eater. Either chicken with spices, or hamburgers with spices. bwahaha

I don't cook unless its making cold sandwiches and leaving them cold. IF I gotta cook it, no way jose. I also do oven pizzas and microwave pizzas (though oven preferred). I'm a champ of the oven and how can you mess up with a microwave? But ya...that's the extent of my cooking. sweatdrop I'm hoping to hit the jack pot and marry a chef.

I cook sometimes.
I mean - over the summer, when I was staying with friends - I did most of the cooking. 3nodding
And I mean - first sunday of everymonth (unless it's been cancelled or moved or something) I help the Knights of Columbus with their Pancake breakfasts at church. 3nodding (mostly spending time with my dad heart ) My dad and I do the pancakes and the hashbrowns! 3nodding
And I cook for myself when I feel like it. 3nodding
Sometimes for the family - but those are far and few between sweatdrop

My family tried to do a routine thing - everybody taking turns cooking but that didn't work out well. My sister would be out for sports at dinner time so she bailed on a lot of her meals, Dad was kind of the same way and me...I got lazy. xd Poor mum ended up cooking 5/7 days or so anyways. She mostly wanted us to help because she was going back to full days at school and was tired by the end of the day. My typical thing was pizza then. Kraft pizza packages are quite tasty. cool

Yeah - if I'm forced to cook, I make Chicken Fettichini alfredo - every time! rofl
But not when I was staying with friends. When I was staying with friends it was whatever I thought of, or whatever they handed me/suggested! rofl

I do almost all of the cooking for my family. Sure, most of the suppers are the easy 'pop in the oven for an hour' sort of things, but I do make a pretty yummy venison stroganoff, or homemade soup or pizza. Plus I make my own versions of some recipes. Grilled cheese using mozzerella and sourdough, different ways of making ramen, all sorts of weird stuff. Overall, I like cooking, but every once in a while when it's hot out I'd rather not mess with it. Pretty rare, though, considering I'm responsible for supper and dishes each night.

I still can't figure out spices. Rice cooker and rice Frozen Veggies and microwave. Frozen chicken and grill. Mix together in bowl and done.
Do good at breakfast though, eggs and cereal and fruit. Might make ham and mushroom swiss omelette if feeling fancy but not lately.
Used to make wraps but now back to sandwiches such as salmon >.>
My favourite recipe is mixing taco mix and eggs with ground beef and then grilling them into meatballs, that's a good heart attack.

I love to bake. Dale is the one that does the cooking but I like cooking just fine. I just much prefer to bake. I don't do a lot of it now that my oven in my kitchen (we have two kitchens since the house was set up to be like two apartments; my kitchen and my parent's kitchen) doesnt' work. Plus, I have a hand mixer which is alright but I really want a stand-mixer to make things tons easier and less messy.

And here's a rye-cipe for everyone!
Beef Stroganoff (for a family of six, plus some leftovers) 3-4 lbs. beef, cut into bite size pieces* 3 cans Cream of Mushroom soup 2 cans French Onion soup 2 cans Golden Mushroom soup 1 small can sliced Mushrooms 1 container sour cream 1 box rotini
Heat the beef until fully browned, then place in a pot with all the soups. Heat on medium-low until it starts to bubble, stirring every ten to fifteen minutes. Move the heat to low, and continue stirring every ten to fifteen minutes for three to four hours.
Boil rotini according to package directions. Then add sour cream and mushrooms to the meat and soup, and raise heat until it reaches a slight bubble once more. Serve over the noodles hot.
*If you have access to it, venison makes a good alternative.
Not sure if I shared this one before or not, but since we just had it last night, I thought I'd share it now.

w00t! Official cooking forum!
Here's a really simple - yet really yummy lunch-type-thing to try.
Ingredients: ~ 1 Avocado ~ 1 Tomato ~ 2 slices of Brown bread.
Tools: ~ Toaster ~ Fork (optional) ~ Knife (optional, but handy)
Toast your two slices of bread in the toaster, Cut you Avocado in half, take out the pit, and take off the peel
After this there's two ways to go about it.
1 ~ What I do - is put the avocado half onto the toast, then cut the avocado in slices one way, then the other way (what's that called in cooking? dicing?) then take a fork and smoosh it all down to cover the bread
2 ~ What my mom does - is she cuts the avocado into slices, and places it on the toast.
Then you take your tomato and cut slices - thickness to taste - I usually use one & 1/2 slices of tomato per slice of toast - but it all depends on the size of the tomato vs. size of bread.
The pleace tomato on bread - and it's done! biggrin
And REALLY REALLY GOOD too! 4laugh
