It was exhausting. After Thorn gave birth to two Cherubs, his children, he decided to take one of those eggs to take care of for the time being. Honestly he was glad they were Cherubs. They were the happiest kind of the Kitsusagi around and they were guaranteed to have souls. It was somewhat of a relief, because if both children wouldn't have souls and would be trapped to a life inside the cabin he would feel like the worst kitsu ever.

He frowned slightly, knowing that without a soul he couldn't even go out and play with his children. It saddened him but he still had a feeling Thorn would do a good job. Clearly she didn't like him one bit, but as long as she took care of his child with the best of care then he didn't mind her hatred towards him. Though if the children catch on to our arguments then there might be some worries.

Looking down at the blue and purple pastel egg with small little attached wings on it a smile pecked on his lips. On it's side was a small silver adorned rose, which came from Thorn's side of the genetics. He still had to name the child, but needed to think of something good. There a feeling in his stomach that his family might want him to name the children after a sexual perverted word. He was the only one in the family that wasn't named in that type of manner. Naming the child after something relatively perverted...well it wouldn't sit well with him or Thorn for that matter.

Speaking of Thorn, I wonder where she is. He thought to himself, looking around the empty cabin room. Usually he would go into this deep part of the cabin to think to himself. He didn't like people too much, because of the pity he received from others about his lacking soul.

As a matter of fact, Thorn was indeed nearby, but not close enough to be of much use in regards to talking to Ver.

The large silver kitsusagi was in the living room lounged upon the partially burnt couch (remnants of another mate-rivalry amongst the kitsusagi world). Obeying her maternal instincts, she had set her other most prized possession between her rather strong tails. Certainly, she was no bird, nor even a bird kitsusagi, so laying on top of the deep purple and pale pink egg most certainly would not work. Even if she was, she would have been an overly large bird, and this egg was far more petite than even a bobtail egg. It would have been crushed beneath her large body.

As a compromise, the luck kitsusagi kept the egg between her two forepaws and nestled her head gently against the colored shell. Her curly bangs and soft cheek would probably keep it warm, or at least that was the intent.

"...Chrysanthemum, Chrysanthemum, Chrysanthemum... it is the perfect name for the perfect child..."

For a moment, the fleeting thought of the matching egg to the one she cared for floated past her thoughts. It would have been wonderful to name both children, but alas, such a joy was not hers to have.

Delphinium would have been a lovely name for the other egg... she couldn't help but think sourly. Instead, that egg went to the cotton-candy freak with weird hair. A teensy growl couldn't help but escape her. She couldn't help it. Luck kitsusagi were just naturally a bit mean, seeing as they are very protective.

Sitting in the dim light he mused on a name for the egg. He picked his own name, because if he didn't Maru and Moro would name him something incredibly disgusting in his opinion. Yet picking his own name is easy, but what if the child didn't like it's new name? Dammit I'm thinking too hard on this. He sighed, deciding he needed a drink. Looking towards his egg he smiled, gently picking up the egg and leaving the room, heading towards the kitchen.

As he walked through the corridors of the cabin he wondered how Thorn was doing. Surely she would be taking good care of the egg, he didn't doubt that. Whether or not she liked him particularly it was clear she was quite nurturing towards the egg containing one of their children. "At least she'll be a better mother than Marudashi and Morodashi were," he whispered to himself, cradling the egg in his arms delicately. It was a habit to call his mothers by their whole names. His siblings didn't do such but for some reason he couldn't see them as mothers. Perhaps it was the same way they never saw him or his brothers as sons.

When he was right by the door to the kitchen, looking ahead slightly he could see Thorn on the old couch, carefully holding the egg between her paws. He decided it would be best not to get into another argument with the other right now. All he could do was smile softly at the sight of the Luck Kitsusagi taking care of the egg. At least she can be a good mother, if anything. After looking at her for about a minute with the egg he opened the door to the kitchen and stepped inside, his egg still being held with the utmost care.

Though she was nearly the size of a nightmare kitsusagi, Thorn was indeed not a nightmare. Her nose twitched a bit as the scent of a particular father to her child edged around. Yet by the time she turned to look, he was out of sight. Rolling her shoulders into a shrug, she resumed her tender care with her Chrysanthemum. As she lay there with her tails vaguely twitching, she couldn't help but think.

How sad that we never have been introduced properly. How did I end up as a mother already anyways? And why is the father so feminine? He looks like a girl with cotton-candy for hair. All he ever seems to do is complain anyways. I don't need such a poor role model for Chrysanthemum. Maybe if I am lucky, the egg will hatch at the house and I won't have to worry about Chrysanthemum meeting him.

Given a moment or two, the silvery beast shook her head. No matter how much she disliked the father, it didn't mean that the babies shouldn't be allowed to meet. From the markings she had seen on both, it almost seemed like they were twins waiting to happen. Twins separated at birth were the most tragic stories ever told.

Glancing back to where she had smelled Ver, she almost seemed to wait for him to pass by. As she waited, she rest her cheek gently into the deep purple part of the egg shell.

Once Ver drank the water out of a clean glass cup, looking at the egg he wrapped in a light purple pastel blanket he sewed in his spare time, a train of thought went through his mind that made him wonder what the child would be like. Would it be like him; sour, stubborn and usually a fast talker? Perhaps it would gain Thorn's qualities? Or maybe the child would get personality traits from it's uncles and grandmothers? No way it's going to engorge as much sugar as Jini does though. He thought grimly, knowing how his youngest brother's tendencies to sugar were.

For some reason he had a feeling that Thorn was watching him. Turning his head towards the door, his bangs falling over his eyes yet again he saw no one was behind the wooden door. He sighed, feeling his paranoia return. I really hope the child won't become anxious like me.

The egg did look a lot like him though. It had his pastel colors, with a small mix of blue from Thorn, and even adorned a rose pattern on it's side. He saw the other egg and admitted that from the patterning and colors it looked a lot more like Thorn. Sighing his quietly caressed the eggs wings gently, watching them slightly flutter at his touch. He turned back to the door, still feeling like Thorn was observing him; almost in a judging way. Can't blame her for it, he sighed in thought, she's just looking out for our children.

Perhaps he would talk to Thorn. Of course he didn't want to start an argument with the other. It seemed like they did that quite a lot.

Upon finally seeing a hint of the pastel male, the femme controlled her urge to growl at him. It was hard to fight instinct, especially that maternal one, but at the moment she was able to manage.

Instead, she just stared at him intensely. Certainly, she did not want to talk either, yet she had many things on her mind. She indeed was a very young mother, but in the animal kingdom, that was very common. She had questions, but wasn't willing to admit she had them. Thorn was definitely stubborn about near anything, so this wouldn't be any exception.

The only thing which hinted she might want to talk was her eyes. Though they were intensely staring, they also seemed slightly softer than usual.

Looking down at the egg in his arms yet again he wondered about the egg yet again. It had been a few days since it was born, so wouldn't it hatch soon? The idea of it hatching honestly have Ver a little worry, only because he wondered how the children would end up. I worry too much, he thought with a small sigh.

That's when his periphery caught sight of Thorn, who was now staring at him. For one reason or another Thorn did not like him. Honestly what he said to her was true. Liking people wasn't hard for him as long as they didn't pry into his life when it was obvious he didn't want such to happen. Otherwise he could act relevantly friendly with another. Yet the fact that Thorn was being so stuck-up and stubborn about the matter annoyed him. Most of the time she was the one starting the arguments, and it was for the littlest reasons as well.

Yet when his eyes turned to meet hers he had a feeling something was long. It was her regular 'I-hate-you-go-die' glare but a much softer one. He couldn't display soft emotions through his own eyes, as the shine from them which dictated the presence of a soul was missing. For some reason he had a feeling she wanted to talk with him.

"What's wrong, Thorn?" He asked in a light monotone voice, the egg huddled close to his chest as the purple blanket was wrapped around it.

The luck's ear flicked slightly. There wasn't anything wrong from what she recalled, but maybe that was just the way this male always read her: being angry or upset about something. How dreadfully annoying! The desire to growl once more was very overwhelming, but the larger of the two controlled herself once more.

Attempting to play it cool, she just asked a question which would have pestered her for a while: "...what will you be naming that little one?" Her head lifted up and nodded slightly to the egg which the pastel-puff was carting around, signaling what she was referring to. The name was probably less-than-perfect if he had even come up with a name yet. It couldn't have been any more perfect than Chrysanthemum or Delphinium. Rather eager to hear what the answer would be, she remained seated vaguely upright.

Ver perked an eyebrow, noticing her expression changing with his question. He didn't even direct a negative emotion at her and she still gets angry with him? Needless to say it was quite annoying how quick she could judge someone, but he rather not stir something up right now.

Her delayed reaction with that question caused him to ask another question to himself. What was he going to name the child? He wanted a suitable name but he wasn't too sure at all on that name yet. "I don't know yet," he sighed, looking down at the egg. "If you want to give any suggestions, go ahead."

Perhaps asking her opinion might have not been the wisest choice, but he did want to find a nice name for the child and he was never good with name choices.

"...at least you are honest about it..." the femme huffed a bit.

Seeming to puff up proudly, she offered her opinion "...Delphinium would be quite a suitable name..." She did something which Ver might not have been used to: Thorn smiled.

Ver shrugged at Thorn's words. He was use to being honest; even if it did get him in trouble on many occasions. Specifically dealing with his brothers. Looking down at the egg again and then back up Thorn, noticing her starting to speak again.

Of course her next words, followed by what was probably the first time he ever seen her smile surprised him a bit. Well- mostly the smile did honestly. Like the name of the egg she named it was quite a feminine sounding name and a bit long. He sighed at her suggestion, smiling back at the Luck Kitsusagi. "I'll think on it."

((I actually like the name Delphinium xD~ Maybe I will name the egg that :B -has really no idea what to name the kitsu at this point-))

((I actually got both names from the storybook Chrysanthemum ... I seriously love that book to pieces xd heart ))

Once more, the luck puffed up slightly, however, it was more of a pouting-puff. How dare he only think on it. Her smile vanished from her maw and she turned away.

"...you know... you'd think you'd pick some place else to hang out... every time I see you, you are always here... erm... you never introduced yourself to me..."

Certainly, she wasn't the biggest fan of tacky places such as this, but so many members of her extensive/adoptive family were huge fans. She never could understand why.

Ver perked his eyebrow up at Thorn, noticing her puff up. Why was she mad now? He wondered what to do exactly though. She should be glad with him even considering though, with the way she's been treating him lately.

At her next sentence he simply sighed, a frown etched onto his lips. It would have came up eventually, even if both children would have souls the fact that he couldn't even go outside would have been questionable. He decided to walk over closer to Thorn, sitting on the old couch about a couple feet away from Thorn. "Well my name is Ver, and I'm the oldest of four sons. I have...two mothers and believe me," he paused with a chuckle, "my brothers look much more feminine than I do."

He sighed again, a bit saddened by her question to why he couldn't go out. It wasn't easy for him to deal with the fact that he couldn't even go outside and was trapped to an eternity inside the cabin. He decided to explain more in depth about the situation. Just saying he can't go outside she would get mad. "Tell me Thorn," he started with a pause, turning to meet his eyes with the other's, "when you look in my eyes, what do you see?"

The kitsusagi's brow quirked up a bit. The description of his family was very odd.

"...so... your mothers' adopted 4 sons?... it is very intriguing..."

She definitely didn't think that is was possible for two females to have true genetic children of their own. Then again, she was still relatively young and more traditional in her orientation. Pulling her egg closer to her, she seemed to be getting herself comfortable.

"...your eyes, what does that have to do with anything?" She'd casually glance to his eyes.

"...your eyes are just the same color as two of your tails... why?" She wasn't exactly looking all that hard at the eyes, so she was not seeing the detail which was lacking.
