We are all humans. Why must people discriminate against anyone for anything?
Race:
There is still a large amount of racism in the world. Black people seem to recieve a lot of hate, so do asians. There are many stereotypes made for both. Sure sometimes they are true, but most of the time they are not. If we are all humans, why discriminate based on race? It is stupid and is tearing the world apart. All humans need to cooperate to survive as a species.
Sexuality:
Ok. there are a lot of homophobes in the world. If two people love each other, why complain about it. They are not affecting you by being different then you are. A lot of straights pick on people who are different and hate them because of this. Recently, two different teen boys were executed in Iran for being in love with each other. This was wrong for the country to do. They should not have been executed, but they should have been left alone. Gay marriage is a hot issue in the united states today. It shouldn't be. People are complaining about something that doesn't really affect them. How does 2 girls or 2 guys getting married affect you? It doesn't. It should not be banned anywhere in the world. Hate crimes are just plain WRONG. There is no reason to beat someone who is different than you are, weather it be because they are different in sexuality, different race, or different religion. LOVE IS LOVE. WE ARE ALL HUMANS.
Religion:
This is a touchy issue. A lot of Christians have a hatred for other religions thinking that christianity is the only true religion that will go to heaven. Islam also has this belief. Buddhists seem to be looked down upon for not worshipping the same deity that most others do. People are killed for their religion and they shouldn't be. Hate crimes are also carried out against people who are of different religions than the perpetrator. This is a useless thing to do.

Any type of discrimination is a useless thing to do. What does it accomplish? Nothing. Other people of different religions, races, and sexualities dont determine who you are or what you do, so why do people hate each other with such dark emotions?

The answer is fairly simple... Most people don't understand something(in fact, everyone doesn't understand many things...). And, what we don't understand, we fear. And, what we fear, we hate and try to destroy, or limit. It's a perfectly natural response that humans developed inoour evolution to survive in our hostile environments.
The only problem is, as well as many things we evolved, it desn't have a big purpose in our society anymore... And, we let it get out of control. Many people let it consume them. They don't have the intelligence, or the wisdo, to put a lid on it, and control themselves.

Diadrin The answer is fairly simple... Most people don't understand something(in fact, everyone doesn't understand many things...). And, what we don't understand, we fear. And, what we fear, we hate and try to destroy, or limit. It's a perfectly natural response that humans developed inoour evolution to survive in our hostile environments. The only problem is, as well as many things we evolved, it desn't have a big purpose in our society anymore... And, we let it get out of control. Many people let it consume them. They don't have the intelligence, or the wisdo, to put a lid on it, and control themselves. Wow.. I love that response. I completely agree with it and i really couldn't have worded that better. Bledevik Our greatest enemies are ignorance and prejudice... And the furbies... Yush, furbies creep the hell outta me! They're pure evil! crying But on a serious note, wouldn't it be wonderful if everyone would just open thier hearts and minds, forgetting all of our differences, and just treat everyone with proper decency and respect? Does your religion, sex, gender, sexuality, or race truly affect whether or not you're a good person? Too bad more people can't see past thier senseless insecurities and prejudices and realize that we're all people damnit!

Sometimes I think most of the homophobia comes from the chruch. Mainly the Christain chruch. In the Christain religon homosexaulity is banned and considered evil. I felt so betrayed by this. The thought that the one I called "God" just may send me to hell just because I'am Gay was a very hurtful thought.

I don't know why people do that, some say it's make themselves feel like the bigger person but... why do you need to be? And when people do it back to the ones they hate, how does it make you any better than them? Bullying has been going on for far to long and for stupid reasons... I find the USA to be a bully as well, they bully other countries, gays... I hate it, I'm only thankful that I live in Canada at the moment and we support almost anything... though we still are pussies in some ways... but we are a peace keeping country so I am glad. Even here where I live I have problems more with sexuality than race because I go to a school were black people, natives and everyone go to school at so it doesn't matter about race where I am.. though i can't say that about everyone.
No matter where you go someone will find something wrong with you, either it be your gender, your race, your sexual preference, your looks... I think it's stupid though because they are not perfect and I think they hate something about themselves so they must hurt other people so they don't feel as bad... I hate they bullies of today they are nothing more than childish, insecure people in the inside. That is what I believe atleast.

I wish people would stop using such offensive words... but then again, nobody can save the world, so might as well just stop it where you can, and joke around with it when they don't mean it. I get really offended when people say hate words offensively, but there's not point in trying to stop the whole world by yourself. Plus, even if all the gay/bi/curious people on earth tried to stop people using that word, we couldn't stop everyone, because there are some people that just hate us... sad, really...

Everyone has some pretty good points. And now I just came up with a theory...homophobics are people that when they were younger liked the same gender but they either yelled at themselves for it or were beat because of it...or were just too stupid to admit it...or didn't want to be. Ex: I am a heterophobe that is bisexual and have a boyfriend...so I can talk about that...hah! mrgreen

its not always fear. some times its arrogance. people cant find anything good about themselves, so they take pride in the fact that there not gay, or that their the "superior race". its an identity crisis, we all have them, but there not ok when they hurt people.

People fear what they do not understand. Thus, I am proud of who I am, come to face the fact that people will always hate me vor bing bi, and a wiccan christan, but as long as I love myself, then its all ok. Just how I see the world... oO
