Hello, my fellow Louie-Fans. I see you've stumbled upon my fanfiction I have started. This is my first attempt at a fan-fic, but I haven't been able to get it out of my head, so I have decided to write it. It'll come in segments, though, due to the fact I have a short attention span. As with any thread, there's got to be a few rules. (Don't worry, it's not many) 1. Please do not post in this thread. All comments and suggestions should be posted hereSee? Not that many. ^--^ Now, on to the story. ~---Fan Art---~ Art By: [[.sheryl.]]

Durem Reclamation Hub, December 12th, Ten Years AgoThe child was sprawled in the snow, shivering from the cold...and the pain. The little girl's black tank top was shredded, deep whiplashes covering her little back. The snow around her was red from the blood. The cold snow bit at her unprotected skin; the child wore a black tank top, black denim shorts, and no shoes. Her short red hair laid around her head, looking like a crimson halo, her one black bang standing out boldly from the rest of her hair She wanted to get up and atleast crawl to the cave, but she didn't have the strength. She heard footsteps and braced herself; had they come to finish her off? She heard someone gasp, and felt herself being lifted into someone's arms. A coat was wrapped around her, but....it was rather cold. If someone was wearing it, wouldn't it have more warmth? She wanted to say something, but felt her conciousness leaving her. She didn't have time to think before everything went dark and she passed out.
Louie Von Helson had been walking through the Durem Reclamation Hub, getting some alone time. At this time of year, people rarely came here, making him safe from his numerous fan girls. Today, he wore a simple red button-up shirt, black jeans, obsidian combat boots, and a black leather jacket. Of course, he didn't truly need the jacket; it was just a prop to keep people from becoming too suspicious. He was walking his usual route, admiring the beauty of the snow-covered ground. That's when he spotted something a couple of yards away from the cave, the copper-like scent of blood hitting his sensitive nose. As he got closer, he gasped: it was a little girl, and it appeared someone had used a whip on her. He couldn't leave the kid here....she'd freeze to death. He gently picked the child up, careful not to put any pressure on her back as he removed his jacket, wrapping it around the little body he held. He began to run at an inhuman speed; he had to get the child medical attention, and fast.
{ - - - - - - - - - - }
The little girl woke up. Her back ached, but it wasn't as bad as before; it hac been treated and bandaged. She blinked as she noticed something: she was warm, and she was in a bed. She looked around, the light in the room glinting off the red swirls in her blue-green eyes. She was in a large bed, and in a bedroom. The room was adorned in various shades of red and black, and had a Victorian-Era feel to it. She rubbed her eyes, then found that she was in an over-sized red button-up shirt. "Where am I?" she murmered softly.
"You are in my home, little one." Louie said, chuckling as he looked over at the child. He sat in a chair at the side of the bed, looking at the child. He was now in his black jeans, nothing else. "I am glad you woke up....I was worried I'd have to take you to the hospital or something." he said, chuckling once. He held his hand out to the little girl, smiling at her, his fangs poking out a bit. "My name is Louie....Louie Von Helson. And what is your name, little one?" he greeted, his tone warm and welcoming.
The little girl gently shook his hand, smiling slightly at the adult. "My name's Marina, Mr. Louie." she said softly. "Thank you for helping me, sir. I truly appreciate it." she said, grinning.
Louie smiled. There was something about this child.....something he didn't sense in other humans. And those eyes.... "Tell me child, do you know where your parents are? I am sure they must miss you terribly." he said, petting her hair and smiling.
Marina frowned, looking down. "I..." she started slowly. "I don't have any parents. I've been alone for as long as I can remember." she said softly, hugging her arms lightly.
Louie instantly felt guilty. He gently picked the child up, setting her on his lap. "I am truly sorry, little Marina. I should not have asked." he apologized, his tone soft. He smiled slightly as he got an idea. He'd been needing a companion, someone who didn't go crazy everytime he came into the room. "Marina...." he started, turning the child gently so she was facing him. "How would you like to stay with me? I can take care of you." he offered, smiling gently.
Marina blinked, looking up at him. "Really?" she asked, looking up at him. "Are you sure?" When he nodded, she grinned brightly and hugged him. "Thank you, Mr. Louie!" she said, giggling once.
Louie smiled, petting her hair as he gently hugged her back. "You are quite welcome, little one." he said softly, looking down at his new little companion.

Los Noches, Durem, October 25th, Present-Day ((With Music, Click To Listen))The girl of maybe seventeen years of age pulled herself from her thoughts, shaking her head. She sat at an empty table in the back of the night club, her chair tilted and her feet resting lightly on the table. She was wearing a pair of black baggy jeans, a red Durem t-shirt from the past summers Water Festival adorned her chest. As usual, her feet were bare. She sighed, taking a drink of her Red Bino Energy Drink. *It's been ten years since I met him, and seven years he's been gone.* the girl thought, sighing as she ran a hand through her crimson red hair, tucking her long black bang behind her ear. Of course, it fell right back in her face. She looked around, the strobe lights glinting of the red swirls in her dark blue-green eyes. She finished off the drink, sighing as she stood up and stretched. *I need to stop dwelling on the past and live in the present.* Marina thought, making her way out to the dance floor. It didn't take her long to let go of all her idle thoughts as she lost herself to the music, dancing in sync with the beat of the the techno music that was being played.
She gasped as she was pulled out of her trance-like state, feeling a hand clamp down on her shoulder. She whirled around, ready to slug whoever it was in the face, but she instantly dropped her her hand to the side. "Louie?" she said, her tone showing her disbelief as she looked up at him.
Louie smiled down at her. "Me oh my....." he said, chuckling as he ruffled her hair. "Looks like Little Marina isn't so little anymore." he said. Of course, he hadn't aged a bit over the past ten years. He was still the gorgeous dark angel he'd been back then. He wore a black dress shirt, leaving it unbuttoned to show the pale skin of his chest. His black jeans fit snugly around his lower half, almost like a second skin. His long ebony hair was pulled back into a loose ponytail, using his trademark red ribbon. His rapier hung loosely from his belt, and the strobe lights made his combat boots sparkle. "I believe we have a lot of catching up to do, no?" he asked, smiling at his former companion.
Marina smiled back, nodding. "Yeah, I guess we do." She glanced around, then back up at him. "Let's go somewhere else less populated...." she said, already feeling the curious eyes looking their way, hearing the fangirls squeeing already.
As soon as he heard the first fangirl, he nodded. "I agree, Marina. To somewhere less populated." Louie, without saying another word, took Marina's wrist and towed her out of the night club, despite her questions and protests.
"Just where are we going?" she asked, looking at him as she tried to keep up with him, not wanting to fall over. She kept trying to tug away, but....his grip was much to strong; she couldn't break free of it.
"My home.....or should I say, your home? I understand you still take residence there, even after I left." Louie said, sounding amused. He looked at her, chuckling once before becoming serious. "Tell me, Marina.....how long have you known that they were coming back to Durem?" he asked, his voice suddenly low.
"Now is not the time nor place to discuss that, Louie." Marina said, her tone soft. "We may be overheard." She was trying to avoid the question, even if she knew she'd have to answer it sooner or later.
"That is just fine." Louie said, his tone cool. "We'll be to the house soon. Then we can talk." He wasn't going to let this go, they had planning to do if they were coming....

As they reached the house, Marina fumbled with her house keys which were fighting to stay in her pocket. She finally got it out and smiled in satisfaction as she slipped the key into the lock and and turned, the lock clicking out of place. She opened the door, holding it open for Louie. "After you." she said, chuckling once.
Louie remained serious as he walked into the house. He knew what Marina was trying to do; she was trying to distract him. *Well, that is not going to work on me.* he thought, walking into a small sitting room and taking a seat in a soft, crimson-colored chair, waiting for the human to come in so they could have their discussion.
Marina walked into the room, sighing gently as she took a seat across from the Vonpire. "Well.....we're not going to have idle chit-chat, are we?" she asked, her tone showing her small hope that he'd contradict her, telling her that they were going to have nothing but idle chit-chat. She wasn't that lucky. Not in the least.
"Marina, we can speak freely now, so answer my question. How long have you known that they were coming and still stayed here?" Louie asked, his tone firm as her gazed at her, resembling a lecturing parent. "It is rather stupid of you to stay here, knowing that they're coming and that that puts you in danger."
"I've known for two weeks." Marina answered simply. She looked at the ground, letting out a small sigh, knowing she really should tell him. "Louie....you're family aren't the only ones coming." she said, her gaze fixed on the ground to avoid his eyes. "There are a few others coming....I've made a few enemies over the years." She felt cold, firm fingers on her chin, lifting her head to force her to come face-to-face with Louie.
"Then tell me....why are you still here. Why do you not move to Aekea, or Barton; somewhere where no one knows you? Somewhere safer?" Louie asked, managing to keep his tone relatively calm. She knew all this, and she was stubborn enough to stay here? The girl was either stubborn or completely out of her mind in Louie's opinion.....just what was she thinking?
"I will not be run out of my town and my home. Let them come; I can take them." Marina said, crossing her arms. "Besides....I've got a few surprises up my sleeves that'll just burn them up. Trust me, Lou, I've got it under control, so there's nothing to worry about at all. Nothing at all."
Louie was about to say something when a crash upstairs could be heard. He froze instinctively, glancing at Marina in time to see her start to stand up. Both of them sensed that it had to be one of them.....or, atleast, someone who worked for them. The two made their way to the stairs, staying alert as they walked through the rather large house. Both of their heads spun around quickly to look at the hallway to their left; both of them had spotted something dart across the hallway....

"Stay here, Marina. I shall see what it was." Louie said softly, looking at her to get confirmation. His expression became rather surprised when she snickered and grinned at him. What really threw him off were the next words that came from her mouth.
"What, and let you have all the fun? I don't think so." Marina said, grinning from ear to ear as she cracked her neck. "I haven't had any action in a long time.....this will be fun." She began walking down the hallway, listening for something besides the footsteps of the confused vampire behind her.
"Action.....? Marina, just what have you been doing since I left?" a bewildered Louie asked, looking at her. Judging by the way she talked, things like this were nothing new to the human. Just what had his little companion gotten into these past seven years?
"Don't worry about that now. We have more pressing issues at the moment, if you haven't noticed." Marina said, the grin widening as she heard something in one of the guest rooms to her left. She walked silently to the door and opened it. The room was empty except for a bat hanging from the empty curtain rod. Marina walked to the center of the room, looking around before turning to look at Louie. "No one's here...." she said, her tone confused.
"Hmm....." Louie murmered, frowning in confusion. Something wasn't right here.....he smelled someone else in the room, but yet it was apparent that there was no one else in the room. And the window was still shut and locked, so there was no way someone could have escaped through there. The only living thing in the room besides his human was the bat.....the bat! By the time he realized this, it was much to late to warn Marina. The bat had flown down and was already morphing, taking human form behind her. He saw the man smirk as he grabbed Marina, yanking her back to him as he held her. "Let her go, Zhivago....." Louie warned, his usually blueish eyes flashing yellow.
Zhivago merely chuckled, sweeping the hair from his hostage's neck as he smirked at Louie. "Oh? And who is going to make me? You know, it's only polite to welcome a guest with.....refreshments... And what a refreshment this shall be. You should protect things like this a little better, Louie, or they will be taken away." he said, taunting him as he stepped back closer to the window.
Louie growled, his hands clenching into fists. He lurched forward into a half-crouch, ready to dive at Zhivago when he paused, hearing words that completely shocked him.
Marina was chuckling, her expression showing her obvious amusement with the situation. "You know.....that is rather funny...." she said, looking down so her hair completely his her eyes from view. "It's hilarious that you think I need protection....." As she spoke, small flames danced across her fingertips, forming into a ball of flames. "You have two seconds to release me, or you aren't going to like it."
Zhivago smirked, not even noticing the ball of fire. "Oh, I think I shall like it." he said, lowering his head to bite into Marina's neck. As far as he was concerned, this mortal was helpless. There was absolutely nothing to worry about, since he was using her almost like a human shield. Besides, he was absolutely parched....he needed a good drink.
Marina sighed; she'd warned him. In a matter of fifteen seconds, she performed the 'S.I.N.G' defense she had learned from a movie she'd recently seen. She elbowed him in the solarplexes, stomped on his instep. When he released her, she whirled around and slammed her palm into his nose before kneeing him in the groin. She stepped back, watching the poor man fall to the ground as she dismissed the unnecassary flames. "I told you I didn't need protection...." she said, smirking.
Louie stood in awe, not believing what he had just witnessed. Was this honestly the sweet little girl he knew back then? Where in the hell did she learn to be like....like this? He stepped forward, standing beside Marina. "What are you doing in my home?" he asked, his voice cold and threatening as he looked at Zhivago through narrowed yellow eyes.
Zhivago sputtered, still in quite a lot of pain from what Marina had put him through. After a moment, he managed to regain his voice. "Master Vladmir sent me here.....you have been gone for quite a long time, Louie.....your father is not pleased....not in the least....and if he hears you are socializing with a human girl...well, how do you think he will feel about that?"
"I do not care what my father thinks." Louie said, his voice more of a growl than anything else. "LEave, now....or shall I be forced to escort you out?"
Zhivago slowly stood to his feet. "We will be seeing each other.....soon, I hope." he said, his tone dripping with venom. He then looked at Marina, eyes narrowing. "And I will make sure to pay you back for the pain inflicted tonight." he said, smirking at his own threat. He opened the window and morphed into a bat, flying off again. *I do wonder how Master Vladmir will react to this news....* he thought silently as he flew off into the night.
Marina looked at Louie, placeing a hand on his arm. "Calm down, Louie...." she said softly, seeing how worked up he'd gotten. His shocking yellow eyes were literally glowing, and even she knew that wasn't a good sign. "He's gone...."
Louie looked down at Marina. Since he had been angered, his senses had hieghtened in preparation for a fight. But since there hadn't been a fight, his second instinct was to put his current state of mind to use and hunt. And right here was the perfect prey, the sound of her heart beat calling to him.
"Louie...?" Marina asked, looking up at him and starting to step back. She let out a small 'eep' as Louie grabbed her wrist, holding it in a painfully tight grasp, his fangs slipping into view, his eyes showing no recognition what so ever....

"Louie, let go of me!" Marina demanded, trying to yank her wrist out of his painful, bruising grip. Her attempts were in vain; his hand merely tightened around her wrist. She tried striking out at him, but it didn't do her any good. "Louie, let go!" she said, her voice taking a lower tone. She didn't want to use fire against him; she didn't want to hurt him. But she didn't want to be on the dinner menu, either.
Louie just grinned. He found it amusing how his prey tried to get away. Didn't it realize there wasn't any hope of getting away? Right now, he didn't see Marina. He saw blood; fresh, crimson elixir running through veins under delicate mortal skin. With his other hand, he grabbed her shoulder, yanking her closer to him. Leaning his head down, he inhaled deeply as a grin spread across his face. "My......you do smell delicious..." he commented, leaning down and brushing his lips across her neck, feeling the blood pulsing in her veins.
Marina froze for a second, her mind going blank for a moment. She then shook her head; now was not the time to freeze up. She had to act, and fast. She pulled her fist back, and in a seconds worth of concentrating, she had it engulfed in flames. "I'm sorry." she muttered before slamming the flaming fist into his stomach.
Louie gasped, feeling flames suddenly burn his abdomen. Instinctively, he shoved the prey away from him, trying to put the flames out. He'd heal in a few minutes, but that didn't mean it didn't hurt. He growled as he tried to pat the flames out; this meal had some fight in it, that was for sure.
Marina took this opprotunity to run, or atleast try and get some distance between them before he recovered. Her feet slapped against the polished hard wood floors as she ran, her mind racing as she tried to think of where to go. *Maybe if I make it to my room upstairs, I can get to the safe room.* she thought silently, rushing up the stairs as quickly and as quietly as she possibly could. Also, her weapons were in her room, so that was a plus.
Louie snarled in frustration; not only was his prey running, but his stomach was throbbing in pain as he began regenerating slowly. He slowly pushed away from the wall he'd been leaning against, discarding his ruined shirt as he began to follow her scent. If she wanted to play a game of cat and mouse, so be it. It would make for an interesting hunt. He moved down the hallway slowly, listening for sounds in the house.
Marina made her way down the upstairs hallway, her steps careful as she listened for any sign of Louie. *I hope he gets over his damn blood lust....and soon...* she thought, biting her lower lip as she stopped infront of the door to her room. She grabbed a long, beautifully hand-crafted naginata off of her dresser, heading for her closet. She stepped into her closet, pushing past what few clothes she had and opening a small metal door, about three feet and in a square shape, near the floor. After climbing inside the room behind her closet, she closed the small door behind her, locking it. She stood up, looking around the small, nicely-furnished small sitting room. She sat her naginata down on the couch, sitting down beside it. She closed her eyes, thinking. She needed a new plan of action. True, she would be safer here, but she didn't like hiding. It was cowardly, and that was one thing she'd never allow herself to be.
Louie grinned, hearing the sounds of doors upstairs as he pinpointed his prey's location. His stomach was almost completely healed by this point, a light pink mark the only sign that he was hurt at all. He walked with a rather graceful gait that resembled a cat when it was stalking a mouse or a bird. He made his way up the stairs, his feet moving noiselessly over the stairs as he moved. He made his way down the hall, his steps unhurried, his demeanor calm. She wouldn't escape this time....he'd make sure of it. He stopped infront of her door, grinning as he opened the door. Here it was....the room where he would get his reward.
Marina froze as she heard the bedroom door open. Keepin an eye on the small metal door, she reached over, her hand grasping her naginata tightly. She hadn't expected to be found so quickly; she didn't have a plan thought up yet. She slowly stood up, hearing him coming towards the closet. She gripped her naginata tighter, hearing the familiar 'click' as the door unlocked itself. This was it....
Louie pushed the door open, slipping inside in one, almost fluid-like motion. He smirked, looking at his prey as he stood to his feet and brushed himself off. There was no rush; they were in a closed-in room, so there was no way the mortal could escape. He moved towards her and, in one quick motion, yanked her weapon out of her hands, tossing it behind him before grabbing both of her wrists in his hands.
Marina began struggling, even though she already new it was pointless. As she felt him tilt her head back, she shut her eyes tightly. "Please, Louie....stop...." she whispered, opening her eyes to stare at the ceiling as she fell silent, bracing herself.
Louie was about to sink his fangs into her neck, but froze. Something about her tone, the softeness of it, seemed to pull it back. He released her, taking a few steps back away from her. He clutched his head, hissing as both sides of him fought with himself. After a moment, he looked up at her, smiling a small, apologetic smile. "I apologize, Marina. I have no idea what came over me." he said, lying a little. He knew exactly what had come over him; he'd lost himself to blood lust, plain and simple.
Marina took a moment to regain her composure before pulling her hand back and slapping him in the face as hard as she could. "If you EVER kiss me on the neck like that again without my permission, I'll make you wish you were dead." she threatened. She didn't care that he'd tried to make her the main course for his dinner; she knew he couldn't control himself. What bothered her was the kiss......something about it made her feel.....she wasn't sure.
Louie blinked, his hand coming up to his cheek as he looked at her in disbelief. Instead of being at least a little irritated about the fact he'd tried to rip her throat out, she was furious over something as frivolous as the fact he'd kissed her on the neck. Go figure.
Marina walked past Louie, picking her weapon up before leaving the little room and walking into her room, sitting on the edge of the bed. She looked at her wrists, which were covered in dark bluish-purple bruised. She sighed, resting her weapon against her nightstand. She didn't even turn to look as Louie walked over to her. She didn't even look to see what he was carrying.
Louie handed her an ice bag. "Here, for your wrists." he said softly, not looking at the injuries he'd caused. He felt rather guilty; he should be able to control himself better than this. But..... He sighed, sitting on the bed next to her. He hugged her gently. "I trully am sorry, Marina....." he whispered softly to her, holding her close as tears started to come.
Marina was furious with herself. She should be stronger than this. Sure, she'd just had a near-death experience, but she should be strong enough to hold back her tears. Was she that weak? She held on to Louie, feeling what little control she had been holding on to shatter, the tears she'd been trying so desperately to hold in start running down her cheeks....

Los Noches, Durem - December 31st, 2007 - 11:50 p.m. ((With Music))It had been a while since Marina had seen or heard from Louie. But, she read the tabloids, so she wasn't worried. *He's nice and happy with that girl Moira in his daddy's house....* she thought to herself, sipping on her soda as she sat at her usual table. *That's fine. I don't care....why should I care? It's his life....* She glanced around the club, sighing. Apparently, New Year's Eve had to have been couples night, since most of the people were dancing with their boyfriend or girlfriend. Marina snorted, leaning back in her chair. She didn't need him.....she was just fine without him...
"What's a pretty lady like yourself doing sitting back here all by yourself?" the voice interrupted her thoughts. The girl looked up, looking straight into the face of Liam. He smiled at her, slipping into the chair next to her.
"Go away...." she said, resting her head on her arms. She did not want to deal with the blonde at the moment.
"Aw, c'mon, baby....surely you'd rather be with me than all alone?" Liam pressed, unable to believe that there any girl could resist him. Especially if they were single and isolated, like Exhibit A next to him.
"Go away, Liam...." Marina replied, rolling her eyes. This guy was getting on her nerves, and she was getting rather ticked off rather quickly. Liam did not want to see her ticked off.
"Leave her alone, boy."
The voice came from a tall, slender figure....Louie. "Go, now. I need to talk to Marina...." he said, his tone calm and polite, but firm. He glanced at the girl, but returned his attention to the blonde boy.
Liam looked at Louie, muttering as he stood up. "Fine, fine..." he said under his breath, standing to his feet and walking off. Louie watched as he walked off, then sat next to Marina. "So......how have you been?" he asked, looking at her.
"Fine..." she said, shrugging. "How are things with Moira?" She kept her tone cool and calculated....after all, she didn't care... She looked at him, keeping her face emotionless. *Don't care, don't care, don't care....* she chanted in her mind silently.
"We are not together any more...." Louie said calmly. "We....it did not work out. Besides, it was mostly for tabloids and the story line...not love." He noticed Marina's....behavior...and smirked. "You weren't jealous, were you?" he asked, chuckling.
"No, of course not. Me, jealous? Why would I be jealous?" Marina said, blushing a bit.
"You were." Louie said, smiling. He looked at the clock and smirked. The countdown was about to begin. "Ten....nine..."
"Eight...seven..." Marina said, joining in the countdown, still looking at Louie. "Six....five....four...." Wait, if he'd come to talk to her, why'd he come so late.... "Three....two..." Unless he had planned to.... "One...."
Marina didn't have time to react. Louie leaned over, gently gripping her chin as he brushed a soft kiss across her lips. He pulled back a bit, then leaned in to whisper in her ear. "Happy New Year...." he murmered softly, listening as her heart beat accelerated.
To be continued.....
