Greetings again! I know I do not post often and I will make a serious effort to change that. Let me start by thanking the guild crew for choosing my Guild Banner I created for this guild.
It makes me happy.

I recently went to an Anime Convention (Last weekend by date of this post) and I saw the first two DearS Manga, of which I have seen everywhere. I grew tired of only seeing Volume one and Volume two everywhere until I stumbled across this other booth with a whole set of Volumes 1-8. I was so excited!

I took a look at the back for the cover price of them and each ran up to $12.99 CND (Canadian Dollars) or $9.99 USD (United States Dollars). Buying all eight would cost me over one hundred dollars that I did not have until the lady operating the booth saw my eying them. Conventions in my city give major discounts! I was told I can get the
ENTIRE series for each of the US cover price. Even with taxes it would come a little over one hundred dollars. It made me sad.

The best part of my story was after I said "Fine. . . let me get the whole set." and the prices were tallied, the final price for all 8 books was only $55.00! EVEN!

IT MADE ME SO HAPPY! I have been reading them ever since and I was wondering how many more volumes there may be of DearS.

Without further ado, my question: "How many volumes, in total, exist of the DearS Manga?"
Edit:
I had my own question answered when I finished reading Volume 8 at 4:00am this morning.

The ending initially made me really sad. I grew too attached to the characters, but in the end, I can safely say, I am happy the way things have turned out.

How many of you have read the ending? (No spoilers please.)

Yeah, there are only 8 volumes. But there is a FAN BOOK! The fan book's art is amazingly good. At first I used to think it was normal for them to be that good, but then I looked at fan books for other manga and saw the DearS fan book was much better. The ending is odd, and makes you think something should happen next.

Fan Book you say? This may be something I would look into. I shall see what I can find about that. The ending brought a little tear to my eye until I caught sight of the “Later Contact” just before the end of the book. It was light enough to distill that upsetting mood I was in.

I tend to be silly like that. Also, I made a new Banner Image. It is not a small one, like the one I made for the guild. Since I liked the back page of Book #8, I used it for the banner I made. Hope you all will like it!

(I hope none of that is a spoiler.)

I must agree, I loved the Fan Book.
I also loved Please(Onegai) Teacher's fanbook, and the manga too. I have yet to get Onegai Twins manga, but I do have both collections of the anime of those shows.

right right, of course.
The only thing I have a problem with is I cant get the OST, $20 for the thing, and the game, otherwise, I would have everything....
the book collection and unboxed dvd collection is complete though.

If you think about it there is 9 volumes of dears. Thats if you include the fanbook and I own it and I must say that its pretty ineresting. For anyone who reads DearS is a must have.

I read the ending though I don't have all 8/9 volumes anymore (my a** of an ex boyfriend took them from me when we broke up even though he gave them to me...and then he didn't return the things I let him borrow...but that's a different story).

I personally did not like the way it ended. I thought that it ended too fast and that the 8th volume could have, and should have, been spread out for at least 2 or 3 more volumes. The ending was unexpected and it all just came too fast considering the pace (sp?) of the rest of the series. Explaining ALL of that new information in just one volume seemed like a bad idea...

But I did like the ending itself...I thought it was a sweet ending to the series and left room for a sequel series if Peach-Pit wanted to do one. I just feel like they should have spread it out a little more...

I only have one slight comment to add. They did somewhat rush to the end, but because they did, it did allow everyone to take in enough to think that it all meant something greater than the ending did. Or, Peach Pit wanted to have just 8 volumes and either ran behind on ideas till then, or wanted a big 8th volume.

the ending was ok. but then again who likes any ending to their fav. anime it means no more of it. i thought that it ended with them flying away then i turned the page and saw the whole in the sapce ship panels. and they made me laugh. i'm glad they did end it with that.

i just wonder how long Takeya can resist with basically a whole ship load of hot girls wanting to "make babies" with him. rofl

I'm guessing eventually they'd trick him into it. That ending left tons of fan ideas open.
