I find most people I know pronounce Carlisle like this, Car - Lie - aal . Sort of like lial at the end.

Esme and Jasper can also be pronounced with a "z" sound though, I think... Hence the nickname "Jazz."
The one I always had the biggest problem with was Quileute. Quil-YOOT.
And Carlisle is Car-LIAL, with the "isle" as in "island."

XxfushigipinayxX The one I always had the biggest problem with was Quileute. Quil-YOOT.That's funny, because I usually just skip over that word, not really knowing how to pronounce it. xD
But I agree with Esme. I pronounce it like ez-may.

The best way I've seen to pronounce Carlisle is "KAHR-lie-ul" And I think Quil should be "Kwil", not "K-will" since it's only one syllable. And to me, Jacob isn't "Jake-ub" but "JAY-kub"
Just my two (or three) cents. ^^

I can pronounce every characters' name right, twas just Emse that got me.
Me and my friends pronounce it 'Ez-May'. n.n;;;
I think that's the correct pronounciation, personally.
'Ez-muh' wouldn't be too horribly pronounciating it either. :]

I thought it was more like Kwil-a-yoot... I listen to the audio books and that's how Ilyana Kadushin pronounces it confused

The one name I think most people have doubts with is Esme. Esme IS pronounsed Ez-May. That's how Stephenie Meyer said it.

At first glance of Carlisle I read Cars-lee [not cars like vroom vroom] So I got stuck with that shame.
