As you must've seen, the beta version of the Marketplace is ready - though only those who bought Collectibles this month can see it.
I love it! I finally have a preview option! whee

I really really dislike the 2% selling fee that gaia is chunking out of our totals. I understand they are trying to cut away some of the gold to reduce inflation, but as I see it... they've only caused an immediate inflation of 2%... look at it this way... if someone is selling a letter for 14k, gaia is deducting 280 from their total... so how does a seller make up for this?... they INCREASE the price of what they are selling.
I think this attempt to thwart inflation is just going to increase it... as many of their attempts have... but thats just my thoughts, interesting to see what others think.

It wouldn't work: the higher you put your prices, the more you'll end up losing xp That's how it works. Think about it: someone who sells a Nitemare Scarf is going to lose way more than someone who's selling a Summoning Tome. Edit: I MEAN, it'll feel like you're losing more. You'll be losing exactly the same amount of money xP

I abhor it. I think it is hard to navigate, its going to make market manipulation an incredibly hard thing and the window with soon to be expired bids is going to frustrate a lot, and I do mean a lot of people when bored gaians are going to swoop down and take the item for one more gold than what they have down. the layout is to cluttered, it is hard for me to see whats going on und! und! if the market does not have your item, it shows it on a search anyways. other than that, I think the old one was much better, but if they were to change the interface but keep the layout I would squeal like a pig.

It looks like its easier to find what your looking for, and I like the little changing room window on the side.
It feels like they are stealing from tektek with that line chart thing though.

I think it's a good idea... I for one have always wanted Gaia taxes based on wealth and gold in the first place to get rid of the inflation in the marketplace... Still waiting for a Gaia Stock Market too... it'd be better than gambling.

They want to get a really rare item too... and nowadays saving can take forever...
