Ok, so my family has decided to go to Ocracoke as a family "vacation" this year. We've gone before, and it's a nice place. Lots of shops, surrounded by beautiful beaches (it's an island, you take a ferry there), very peaceful. We stay in this big hotel room that has 4 beds, and there are lots of street kitties that will come right up to you and stuff and even stay in your room if you want 'em too. There are two problems though.
First, no internet.
Second, my family always wants to do all the stuff I don't wanna do and I end up ruinin' the vacation.
So, my family has now put into consideration the possibility of me stayin' and someone else takin' my place on the vacation. They want me to come, despite how they've admitted that I'll ruin it, and they've played the ol' guilt card into sayin' stuff like, "Well, we'd like for you to come since we've planned for this to be a family vacation, but if you'd rather not come then we will respect your wishes."

Anyhoo, this brings me to the problem, should I go or not?

It's not that I hate my family. Well, my mom is another story, I can't wait for her to die so I can laugh at her funeral and piss on her grave (sorry, I have a real problem with her), but the rest of my family I'm fine with. It's just, I don't belong. I've never really seen myself as a member of the family, despite my resemblance in physical features to them. They all enjoy things I can't stand. They all get along with one another but when I'm there it's always yellin' and fightin' and hatred. I know that my family will be a lot happier once I'm away from them, and to be quite honest I believe I'll be happier as well. I really think they'd have a much better time havin' fun doin' what they all enjoy then to have to watch me sit around and do nothin' till the heat gets to me (I wear long black pants, it's just how I am) and I got into a fit. They wanna go to the beach and ride the waves, I dont' wanna go swimmin' or even go out into the sun (I burn like crazy). They wanna go to all these gift shops, I have no money to spend and I'm not too crazy about lookin' at the same artwork I've seen year after year every time I go to Ocracoke. They wanna go to nature centers and walk at the speed of smell for HOURS, I can't STAND bein' still for that long or I'll lose it more then I already have. It just makes more sense that I don't go.

ON THE OTHER HAND, they say they want me to come, since it's a family thing. After the "vacation" I have to pack for college which I leave for only days afterwards. They want one final time to spend with me and blah blah blah. I have a real problem disappointin' people, I can't stand to upset people. It rips me apart to know that I let someone down, but I know that they'll be happier if I don't go.

So what should I do?

I've always wanted to be home alone for a while, but my family never let me, and this is my first and last chance. 4 days without my mom, ah, paradise.

Stayin'?

Yeah, that's what I want, but I feel bad for wantin' it.

I dunno about deservin' it.

I didn't get straight A's though.

Who cares, straight A's doesn't mean anything.
I don't get straight A's, and I probably won't get into college. But I bet you would say I deserve something that I wanted.
