Honestly, it's so annoying. >.<
People do it all the time with me and I can't stand it.
Like with my dad. We go to Best Buy sometimes and he buys me CDs and stuff. Or he gets them online for me.. and he gets all mad when he sees something he doesn't like. He says listening to certain things will turn me evil..? Okay, so the majority of what I listen to would be rock/scream/stufflikethat but that doesn't mean I don't listen to some classical now and then. Heck, I even listen to certain Tango songs.
Or like the other day, when I was talking to my friend on the phone and listening to music off the computer. As soon as he hears one rap song come on, he gets all upset, saying I'm "changing into one of them". Whatever them is. Then he said "soon enough you'll be talking like the gangsters".
I was just like wtf -hangs up-
Anything like that happen to you? D':

I guess I don't get much greif on what I listen too seeing as though I listen to everything.
Although people often judge what type of music you lisen to by the way you dress.
I dress however I want, but some people think it's rock-ish.
They think it's so weird that I listen to some rap because I guess I don't "dress" like it. >>''
Ah well. You gotta learn that people will label you, no matter how cool you are.

Then a few years ago I liked Emenim but when my dad found out he threw a tantrum and said I needed to throw out the cds. Never did. :]
Good thing is he's over not letting me get a cd just 'cause it has a PA on it...Most of it's just cussing, yeah? o:

my dad and mom told me i was going to turn completely emo for listening emo music
i mean i only like a few emo bands and its not like i listen to them 24/7 i hate it it makes me sooooooo mad and then they complain why i dont like going out with them....i mean for god sake they sing in the car and in the store and they literaly point at me saying im their daughter
and they all blame this on me listening to emo music

I've never had that problem actually. Though it might be in people's best interest to not talk about me in front of me >>
I listen to a little bit of everything. I'm picky when it comes to just about everything, so I don't like every single song or every single band.
I've spent most of my life in choir and I really love music.

I've spent most of my life in choir and I really love music.
I'm the same way. I like a little bit of everything. Even some country.
Or usually the type of music I listen to switches with my mood.
And since theres a lot of narrow minded around here, it's hard to keep friends. :>

lol. Well don't worry about it. If you listen to what people say all the time, then your life will be depressing! Just ignore people and do what you want to do! It'll make you way happier! That's what I learned. blaugh

i know how the whole musi stereotype is
people in my school do the same thing
i personally like basically any kind of music like:
hip hop
rap
jazz
salsa
classical
reggae
gospel
screamo
basically any type of noice
just because people look a certain way doesn't mean that i'm
restricted to a certain type of music
