Head through the city, up to the hills, to the 'rich' part of town. Large, mansion like houses line the streets, houses with wierdly shaped shrubs and unpractically long driveways. The farther back you go, the bigger the houses get. Keep going until you reach the cul-de-sac at the end of Fifth Avenue. There sits a large, white house with a stone driveway that circles around an island of greenery, large, castle-like stone steps, and double doors that will be opened for you by a well-dressed butler. Into the house you go, through the richly decorated entrance hall, up a flight of wide, marble steps the have a thick, red rug going down the center. Once you reach the second floor, turn to the right and go down the hall, all the way down, until you reach the end. There you'll fine a door covered in hearts, flowers, stars, and smiley face stickers. Once you go through that door you will enter into a large, extremely colorful bedroom with a canopy bed and a piano in it. The carpet is a light pink, the walls are a soft shade of violet, and all the furniture is decorated just like the door, with a few extra stickers of lady bugs, bumble bees, Garfield, and kitties thrown in the mix.

Over in the far corner of the room, you'll find a large, wooden desk. Open one of the desk drawers and there will be a small journal. Inside this journal, you will read the story of a rich girl named Violetta and her encounters with creatures called hackers. The outside of the journal has a night time beach scene on it, and sitting on the beach is a woman with long, dark red hair. The woman is is sitting with her back showing, looking up at the sky, and written across the top of the journal, in fancy, loopy letters are the words "Thinking of You, Where Ever You Are."

Places
.NET Hackers Building
An odd little shop that sells the cutest little pets called hackers that live in your computer and eat data.

Cafe
Just a nice little cafe that has an outdoor area to it. I've only ever been there once, but I think I'll go back sometime. I want to try their iced coffee.

People
Fiatch
An Irish man that works at the .NET Hackers building. He tends to handle the sales for the hackers. I'm going to get him a "Kiss Me, I'm Irish" apron for Christmas.

Sionce
A guy in a bunny musk. He works with hackers, fixing them up and helping them on missions. He's pretty serious, likes classical music, and doesn't like to talk about himself.

Red Haired Girl
A girl that was in the shop when I got Aiko. I don't know her name yet, but she has two hackers and was really nice. I'm sure we'll cross paths again.

Messy Boy
A boy that was in the shop when I got Aiko. I don't know his name yet, but I know he was buying a hacker. I'm sure we'll cross paths again.

Adalia
Fiach's little sister. She seems cute and energetic <3

Mayeko
A cute a little girl that seems pretty smart and a little bitter. I think she owns a hacker.

Hackers
Trisste
Sionce's hacker. His name means 'sadness' and he is named after a classical song. He was the first hacker Aiko met, and I think she looks up to him.

Dear Diary,

So, stupid brother Elias (there's two of them, stupid Elias and adorable Kristian, just for the record) bough me this diary for my b-day quite a while ago but I never really used it. Really, it's quite a pretty book, but Elias only got it because he's cheap and didn't want to buy me a new gift. I never really wrote in it before, partially to spite him and partly because I never had much to write about. However, something happened the other day and I just had to put it down.

A few days ago, I stumbled into the weirdest little shop. It was full of techno stuff, and two guys messing around with computers. One guy was Irish & wrote love letters back in the day, and the other was wearing a bunny mask (no really, he was!) & was afraid of girls, or something like that. The odd guys weren't the most interesting thing in the shop though, the thing that really drew me in were these two creatures that were being displayed on a screen. They were super cute! Of course, I instantly wanted one- I can never resist cute things <3- so I spoke with the two weird fellows about to get one.

Before I could really talk to the guys though, something bad- or, I think it was bad- happened. Something hacked into the screen, making the cute little guys disappear and the word "Liar" flashed across the screen. I don't really know what that was about, but it really made bunny man angry and he stormed out because of it, apparently off to investigate it.

Anyways, back to the cute little creatures. They were called hackers and Fiatch (the Irish guy) said I could buy one. I was pretty excited, so I ran out after that so I could head home and ask daddy about getting one. Hackers live on computers and eat data, and after talking to daddy about it he said I was allowed to have one, and he bought me a new laptop to keep it on. I love daddy <3

The next day I headed back to the shop so I could get my hacker. It's going to be a girl hacker, and I named her Aiko, which is supposed to mean 'love.' Mr. Fiatch helped me upload Aiko to my laptop and explained to me all about her.
-She stays in an egg for about a week
-She lives on a USB devices that can be plugged into my computer and can be used to take her to other computers
-She can travel through the internet
-She has to be on my computer to grow, it won't work if I leave her in the USB thing
-She eats data
-I can't feed her data, she'll eat on her own
-She doesn't talk out loud, but communicates by using text

~That's what I learned about her so far. Mr. Fiatch couldn't tell much else, and a lot of things about her will depend on her personality.

While I was in the shop, I also got to see two other people that were getting hackers. One was a messy boy and the other was a nice girl with red hair. I didn't really get to meet them that well though, because stupid Elias called me demanding I come home right away for some stupid reason. I didn't even talk to him when I got home though, I just came up to my room and pulled out this diary. I think I'll ignore hime for a while and find some old data for Aiko to eat when she hatches. Maybe I'll get a new background too, I have Bumblebee from Transformers up right now and I don't want my background to scare her D=

Ah well, I'm off for now. I'll write again if anything interesting happens, or when she hatches, whichever comes first.

Dear Diay,

Not much action going on around here. Real life has been dull and Aiko has yet to do anything. Her eggies sits on my computer, and sometimes I think it wiggles a bit. It's been about two days since I got her, and I'm already getting impatient D= I wish she'd just hatch already!

Another downer is stupid brother Elias. I totally caught him snooping around in my room the other day. He was looking at Aiko on my computer screen (I usually keep my laptop locked, but apparently he found out my password, major bummer right there) and I'm not sure what exactly he was planning on doing but I threw a shoe and it nailed him in the head. Needless to say, he was ticked and he got into a small screaming match before daddy came up and kicked him out of my room, and then told me not to throw shoes at people.

On the other brother side, I showed Kristian Aiko and he thought she was really cool. (He also said I should just let Elias see her, but forget that, stupid Elias isn't allowed near my precious pet!) Kristian seemed really interesed in Aiko, and I told him everything I know about hackers, which I admite, isn't a whole lot. Still, he found it really interesting and even said he wanted to visit the hacker store with me some time. I bet Mr. Fiach would love Kristian, since Kristian is nice, and quiet, and clean, and he never forgets to close the door.

I have to go now, I have a huge paper do for school and I've barely started on it. I'll be sure to write if anything interesting happens with Aiko.

Dear Diary,

Guess what? It happened! Aiko hatched! Sad news though, I totally missed it =(

So, here's what happened. I was working on my super huge paper for school and had just finished, when stupid brother Elias set the toaster on fire. Honestly, I have no idea how he managed that but the smoke alarms were going off, which upset the puppies (we have four of them) who went crazy and started barking. The puppies barking upset my kitty, who ran across the kitchen to hide. Now, while my kitty was running, Kristian was going to turn off the fire alarm and the two crossed paths. Kristian tripped and fell, and my kitty got a little squished. Stupid Elias never liked my kitty that much, and grabbed her by the tail, which upset her greatly and she attacked him. Then Elias the kitty hater threw my kitty, and proceded to grab things around him to chuck at the kitty. By the time I got down stairs, the dogs were barking, the fire alarm was going off, the toaster was on fire, Kristian was on the floor and had been nailed in the head by a large plastic container Elias had thrown at my kitty, my kitty was off hiding somewhere in a traumatized maner, Elias was nursing some stupid cat wound he had totally deserved, and there was potato salad everywhere. Not exactly sure what happened with the potato salad.

Anyways, by the time I got everthing cleaned up and went back upstairs, my eggie was no longer sitting on my screen. Instead, there was the cutest little creature ever- Aiko had hatched! Now, my intial reaction was extreme rage at Elias for making me miss such a monumentous occasion, so I immdiately went to throw something at thim. About half way down the hall the fact that Aiko had just hatched fully registered with me, and I ran back and sat down at the computer.

I had been awaiting this day for a quite a while, and now that it had come, I was kind of unsure of what to do. I mean, I've never interacted with a hacker before. So, I leaned forward and stared at her, and she stared back at me. Then, I made the first move. I smiled and introduced myself!

"Hi, Aiko! I'm your mommmy and I'm going to take good care of you. I'm so glad you hatched!" That's what I said to her, or something like that. Aiko just tilted her head a little, and then began to float back and forth across the screen.

"Do you like your home?" I asked her. I had downloaded a new background for her, it was a picture of a tropical beach at sunset. I though Bumblebee from Transformers might scare her, so I tried to pick something peaceful. She looked at me and nodded, so I guess she liked it. Yay <3

So, she floated around the screen some more, and then a little text box appeared at the bottom of the screen. At first it was blank, but then the word 'hungry' appeared in it. It flashed for a moment, and then disappeared. Mr. Fiatch said she'd be self-sufficient with eating, so I wasn't sure exactly what to do. Aiko took care of the situation herself though, and floated across the screen to where all my icons were, and then just disappeared! I was worried for a minute, but then she reappeared, this time holding a little word document icon in her tiny hands. She opened her mouth wide, and began to chow down on the icon, until the document was all eaten. It was so cute!

"Did you enjoy your meal?" I asked her, and she nodded at me, and I think she was smiling. She floated back and forth a few more times, and then drifted down to the bottom corner of the screen. It looked like she yawned and then another text box appeared. This one said, 'Sleepy. Good night, mommy' and then she fell asleep!

It was all so cute! And, she calls me mommy, which is also super cute! I'm so excited. I know babies need lots of sleep, so I don't want to wake her but I really want to interact with her more. I can't wait until she wakes up. I'm going to go now, I've got to show her to Kristian.

I hope she wakes up soon!

Dear Diary,

Today, we must have a moment of silence for...
MY FRICKIN' 10 PAGE PAPER AIKO ATE!!! -insert my pathetic sobs here-

Remember that file she ate so cutely yesterday? Yeah, that was my paper. D=

On the upside, I've take some precautions. First, I took some old files and put them in a folder labeled 'Aiko.' Then I showed the folder to Aiko, and told her if that she got hungry, she could eat some of the files in her folder. She nodded back oh-so-cutely, so I think she got it. Then, after I told my sob story to my brother, Elias laughed at me and hit him in the head with a stuffed bunny. Adorable Kristian decided to be helpful, though!

You see, Kristian knows stuff about computer, so he put up some kind of protection thingie on my computer. I don't really know what he did, but he said he put up firewalls (whatever those are) and that Aiko would be able to eat the things protected by them. Then, he helped me re write my paper =) (Ok, we took one of his old papers and dumbed it down a bit so the teacher would believe I wrote it. Besides being adorable, Kristian is also totally sweet and understanding.)

So, once everything was fixed up and taken care of, I went over to my computer to say good night and we had a little talk. Somthing like...

Me: Good night, baby girl!
Aiko: <...mommy, are you mad at me?>
Me: Why would I be mad at you?
Aiko:
Me: Don't sweat it my sweet little love child!
Aiko: <...>
Me: Yes?
Aiko:
Me: That's what your name means! 'Ai' means 'love' and 'ko' means 'child'
Aiko: <...oh. Why did you call me that.>
Me: Well, I hoped if I named you that, you'd hatch into a loving little hacker! After all, there's nothing better than being in love. And not just the gushy romantic love, but the normal kinds, too. Like, love for a family member, a friend, or even an enemy.
Aiko:
Me: Well, kind of. An enemy is someone you are against in some way or another. It could be someone who is out to do you wrong, someone who you are competing with, or just that jerk that always gets the last pudding cup in the lunch line. Either way, even if someone is your enemy, it is better to love than to hate. Kill 'em with kindess. When people show hatred, they do it expecting hatred back. Show that you are above that and love them for who they are. They'll probably still be your enemy in the end, but you know you've done the right thing. Also, who knows? Maybe the love you show will have a positive effect on them. Or, maybe not. Only time will tell.
Aiko: <... I think I get it. I'll try to show lots of love mommy, I'll be a good little love child.>
Me: Yay! And, always remember, even if someone says they hate you, they still have feelings for you. And, if you decide somone isn't worth your time, don't show them hate. Just ignore them. Hate isn't the opposite of love, indifference is.
Aiko:

And then sweet little Aiko drifted down to the corner of the screen and fell asleep. She's so cute, and I feel kind of like I actually taught her something today. I don't know anything about computers or hackers, so I can't really teach her how to be a good little hacker, but I can try and make sure she grows to be a good person... or, um, hacker I guess. You get the picture.

Anyways, I'm off to sleep now. I'll write again tomorrow!

Dear Diary,

Aiko disappeared today! I was so worried =(

Luckily though, I found her pretty quickly. Well, Kristian found her would be a more accurate statement. Picture this, I wake up and check on Aiko- she's snoozing on my screen, like a good little hacker- and then head downstairs for breakfast. Two eggs and some toast later, I head back up. I check my computer and no Aiko!

I freaked out a bit at first. I mean, where could she go? hackers live in computers, so it's not like she could escape out the back door or something. Where do you even look for hacker? I had no idea. It took me three years to learn how to function that word programmy thingie for school right (you know, the one that you have to type papers in?) so I had no idea about how a computer based creature could run away. If she ran away, that is. What if she imploded or something? Or if she caught a virus and it ate her?

So, I was sitting in my room, staring at my computer, wondering what the heck I was going to do when Kristian yells for me. (Ok, Kristian isn't really capable of yelling, so Elias did it for him. It was loud and ear shattering, and I punched him in the arm for disturbing the peace.) I head on over to Kristian's room, and remember that he knew stuff about computers. this seemed like it was going to work out, sine maybe Kristian would know where I could look for Aiko.

When I got to his room- Kristian has a really boring room, by the way- he was sitting at his computer. He turned to look at me, and then pointed to his computer. Now, Kristian has two screen set up to his computer that both function at the same time- it's pretty niftay, you can have a messenger opened on screen and another program on the other and the mouse can travel between the two with no problem. Anyways, there was my little Aiko floating back and forth between the two screens! When she saw me she stopped her movement and a little message popped up-

I was baffled, as was Kristian, as to how she got on his computer. I tried asking Aiko but she just kind of shrugged and appeared below her. I had no idea what she meant, but Kristian said since that all the computer in the house were hooked up together (it had something to do with sharing internets & printers & things like that) it was probably really easy for Aiko to get over to his computer. According to him, what she had done was like take a little walk through her own computer neighborhood.

When I thought about it, I guess it does make sense. I think Mr. Fiach said something about hackers being able to travel through cyberspace or something. Good think she only went as far as Kristian's computer though. What if she had gone to the neighbor's house? Or somewhere in China? Would she be able to find her way back? I hope so. I'm going to have to talk to her about this whole traveling thing. Right now I'm happy to have her back, though. Kristian said I was over reacting- she was gone for maybe a half hour, tops- but I don't want to risk loosing her!

On the bright side, one she made her way back home, I taught Aiko how to play minesweeper and solitaire one the computer today =)

Dear Diary,

More news on Aiko!

First off, she learned to play internet checkers and now we can play against each other online. Despite only being a few days old, she can already beat me. Not that that is a big surprise though, since I'm really bad a checkers. Kristian taught her how to play online chess and he usually beats her at it (I can't even play chess -_-) but she's getting better at it each games she plays. According to Kristian, she learns very quickly and it won't be long until she's just as knowledgeable as a full gown adult- at least in practical knowledge. He said it will take a while for her personality to mature. I guess that means that she'll know lots of stuff, and but will still act like a little kid. This works fine for me, since I don't get along well with those intellectual types. They just aren't all too friendly.

Besides online checkers, I also showed her around my computer and some of the fun programs I have. It's really neat how she can use everything! I showed Aiko my MS paint and my Paint Shop Pro and I let her draw pictures in it. Sometimes I'll draw something into the computer with my tablet and then let her edit it on the computer and color it. It's really cute watching her make art, since she still draws and colors like a little kid. A lot of her pictures are more like poorly colored stick figures, but I think just like people, she'll get better as a she practices.

I also showed her the neat little music program I have on my computer. You open it up and a keyboard pops up on screen, and you can select instruments and play songs on the keyboard. You can even play songs with different instruments, save each song, and then play them all together to make it sound like a real band. It's a super neat program, and once I showed Aiko all the keys and stuffs, she got it right away. I guess since all it really is is memorizing which key is which note, music is easier for her to do.

Aiko seems really content playing with my art and music programs right now, so I haven't shown her anything else new just yet. Since she's only a few days old, I don't want to bombard her with lots of stuff!

Oh, and Kristian is calling me for dinner. I'll write again tomorrow, G'night dear diary! =)
