I know that there are still racist people. I have a friend who's great and fun to be around, but whenever something of hers gets stolen, she usually blames it on blacks or mexicans. She even still uses the N word... stare

My other friend thinks that it's totally unfair that it's no longer politically correct to call black people black. They're called African Americans now. He says that it's not fair that we can't call them black, but they still call us white. Which I can kind of agree on.

I know on tv, one of the things that really ticks me off is when the black person does something wrong or doesn't pay for something... Then when the white person goes up to them to ask for payment or whatever. The black person just goes, "You're just picking on me because I'm black" No, it's not because you're black. It's because you've done something wrong...

But society has definately changed. It's a good thing that black and white people don't have their own separate sections anymore. And now there's almost no discrimination against any race... =)

There's definitely racism still left in the world, but it's a dying fad.

It's not politically correct to say 'White People,' either; it's 'Caucasian.'

Most anybody would take advantage of things like that, too, just to get away with it.

Racism is, of course, still existant... Just because it has become "politically incorrect" to outwardly show any dislike or disdain towards someone because of their race, it still runs rampant through many communities. Although it seems like a nice notion, to allow blacks to gain reporations for their ancestors innequality, but many of the relatives of said slave owners, had less control over what happened than the slaves themselves did.

I, personally, go to a 2% White school, in Houston, Texas, needless to say, I've received my fair share of racist comments, but Hell, I don't really care. I have a lot of black friends, and a lot of them are racist (Although it seems that in the US, there is no such thing as 'black racists').

Lastly, I don't care what any law or politician says, whether or not is correct or incorrect that racial slurs against white people are acceptable, there's no chance in Hell that a white man could win a court case against a black man in a 'reporations' charge for emotional damages done by a "African-American's" anti-Caucasian remarks.

Racism does exist. But not like it did. And yeah people of colour do use their race as maybe an advantage in a situation where they can. But who wouldn't? If you had a chance to get away with something by pulling out the race card you know otherwise you'd be stuck with the consequences I'm sure it's obvious what you'd do. I say the N word.. My mom is white and she doesn't agree with it and I'm not supposed to say it, I just dont around her. I dont much like being called a Halfbreed either. Some of the most racist people can be the people who are victim to it.

Racism is always going to exist. It has nothing to do with anyone making speeches or taking the tape off of the classroom floor. The world, the laws, they may change, but the people are always going to be the same.
Racism isn't a fad, it isn't a law, it isn't some material object. It's the pompous idea that one race is better than another. And that isn't something that can be erased off of a chalkboard.
Every race does it. And yes. Caucasians, white people, whatever, they seemed to be the "start" of it all. But you can't say that other races thought just like we did? It's just human nature to be self-centered and pompous.

If they don't want us calling them black, then tell them to stop calling us whites.
Cause you know, we didn't have to deal with the label "white" long ago.
We're not even white. We're tan. Just like they aren't black. They're brown.

Racism is still in this world and I don't want to sound like a bad person, but I really think Black People are the most racist. They can get away with calling someone a cracker or beaner, but when Mr. White Man says ******, HO s**t LAW SUIT.

Ah, but people can change.
No one has the same idea from the time they were born, and through the rest of their life!

Yes, it does exist.

For example. An African and Native Canadian can get into college with a 60% average, while a 'white' Canadian would need about a 70% to 75% average. There are also "Black Pride" clubs but no "White Pride" clubs. If their were, people would see them as another KKK, probably.

And yes. A lot of "white" people are still racist toward Asians, 'Blacks' etc. It frustrates me, because the only difference is skin colour and minor body structure differences. I hate all racism because it is stemmed from idiocy and ignorance.

Racism is defintely still out there. And I think it's stupid that it politically incorrect to call me Black. I actually hate being called an African American. It tedious, and when was I born in Africa? I was not born in Africa. So white, black, that's cool. And personally, I hate the N word period. I hate when white people (oops, i mean Caucasian rolleyes ) say it and I hate when black people say it. That's not what I am, and frankly the word shouldn't exist anymore. And I don't care how mad you are, if you call someone a racial slur, that means that you're racist. That means that word has always been in your mind and that's all they've ever been to you. I'm NOT going to call someone a s**c or a cracker just because they pissed me off.

And there are such things as "black racists." Me and my mom are prime examples. My mom hates white people, though she won't admit it. And I hate everyone besides the Asians (because I'm WEIRD!) Okay...well, I don't hate everyone, but I'm fully convinced that Asians are the superior race.

So my synopsis:
Call me black, because I am not calling you Caucasian, to hell with that. Black people hate too. And I hate Affirmative Action!

I remember one time when I was hanging out with my friends. I think we were talking about politics, and we somehow landed on bashing the Arabs (sp?).

They were all like,
"Those dumb Towel-heads."
"They're not called Towel-heads. They're Sand Niggers."
"HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"

I was speechless... What's wrong with just calling them Arabs? gonk

There's now two types of racism, the old type, and the new type that goes so out of their way not to appear racist to a race, they're being racist to others.

In a few more hundred years though, unless something destroys society as it's going, racism should die out to but a handful of families, still lingering on old ways. I'm sure soon there will be things to hate people needlessly for besides race, such as natural born people vs genetically engineered.

Of course it still exist. I'm black! Yeah I said it I'm black! I dont think its wrong or anything because we call each other that although in a professional environment I would perfer my friend to call me African American and I dont call Caucasians, 'white people', I find it rude because I dont even like it when my find say that I'm black I still perfer African American around them so yeah I'm done ranting on.

Yes, there is absolutely still racism, and I believe it will always exist to some extent because there will always be people who continue to be racist.

And I think being politically correct isn't always necessarily correct. Many politically correct things aren't right. I would honestly rather be called white than "Caucasian" because "white" doesn't bother me. I'm sure there are people who would rather be called "black" than "African American" but I think it's better to just find out. This reminds me of the whole "Merry Christmas"/"Happy Holidays thing". Why is everyone so afraid of accidentally offending someone? If you call someone "black" and then get annoyed and say they would rather be called "African American" then you apologize and know what they prefer. And you can always just ask them what they'd rather be called.

What annoys me is how a person, black or white, will make a big deal out of someone "picking" on them for what color they are, like your example with a black person not paying, the white person alerting them of that, and the black person saying, "You're just picking on me because I'm black!" I see it on both sides, however I must admit that I see more black people do it than white people.

And I also don't see anything wrong with "black" or "white." It's the racial slurs I'm absolutely against. (However being called a "cracker" also wouldn't offend me because that kind of stuff just doesn't bother me. People can call me what they want, it's not going to change who I am. It's like how someone gets mad at you and calls you a "whore" when everyone knows you're not. It's just a word to say when you're mad. rolleyes )
