I want them to remake the game really badly but i don't think they will actually do it..Besides didn't they say they were ganna make it for ps2? and then they ended up just making like the first scene to just show how the grafics could be like on the ps2? idk i just don't think they're ganna do it which is a shame cause i know like everyone would buy it...

I heard that Squeenix already copped out on that little idea. It crossed their minds, but it would have required them to reprogram the whole thing, and I think they decided that it would have been too much trouble for a remake.
As for what I'd change, I always thought that being able to switch characters mid-battle would have been neat, but now that I think about it, it probably wouldn't be necessary. All I would really do for the game, aside from a graphics update (and possibly voice acting), would be to add more content for the hardcore gamers.

I'm a bit iffy on the whole idea of an FFVII remake.....I mean it was great and yes, I would like to play it with today's technology and the better graphics and all that but, Shouldn't they wait for while.....I mean they already have ideas for lots of VII spin-offs.....and I know this is the FFVII guild but I heard that if they announce the whole FFVII remake thing they might put a halt to FFXIII maybe push back the release date...then again that doesn't matter to me because I don't have a ps3......yet.....never got around to it.....hmmmm......maybe I'll get one today

In my personal opinion, they are going way too far way too fast. Its all starting to blend together. I mean, look at the games of 9 and above. All the main characters practically look alike. In the game 12 they practically ripped the roles from 9. A thief, a runnaway princess, ect. They are running out of idea's and its starting to show.
What they need to do is to sit back, relax, and work on something they don't need to strain their brains on. A remake of Final Fantasy 7 would be the perfect project to take a load off and work on something that they already know. Besides, if they do make a remake, do you realize how much money would spring out of nowhere? It would probably sell as much, if not more than the original because of how many people loved the movie. In my personal opinion, it would be best for them AND the gamers worldwide, to start this project. Whether they will or not, I don't know. But it would be a great accomplishment for them to do so.

You know Ive been thinking about it a lot lately and here's my conclusion. lets say say I'm a young gamer new to all this FF7 stuff, I want to play the original cause everything I've seen so far was so cool but I cant find a copy for the life of me, because lets face it, its become a collectible at this stage so how else will I learn of the original story first hand, more importantly how can Square profit from it. Then on the other hand you have the die hard loyal as hell fans who have been going crazy with the renewed spark of FF7 since AC came out, its true all these different projects mark the 10th Anniversary of FF7 but doesn't it all feel a bit like a hype campaign, mark my words as soon as Crisis Core and Before Crisis have run their coarse we might just hear the faintest whispers of the begining of the FF7 remake.
