The Noble Protoman.exe The thing is, you can argue 'till you're blue in the face. It proves nothing. Faith is faith, and if he is who you say he is, then he is stubborn in his faith. You see, atheists have a more blind faith than Christians. While Christians have a purpose and a guideline for living, atheists do not. Look at atheism. God is man. Man is god. Man can't control the universe, but we must learn to understand it. Future generations must understand it more. And so on. Atheists have to prove their point by detesting a God in various attacks that aren't even factual. Yet, no matter how many facts you throw at them, they won't budge. The best attack on an atheist is, "If there is no God, there's no need for morality, right? So how do we judge a right and wrong? If there is no right and wrong, why do we search for it?" and things of that nature. Atheism is a giant circle of knowledge. The problem with atheism is what it even claims itself. We are in an infinite universe, and our purpose here is to understand it. Until we can understand infinity, we cannot understand the universe. While Christianity has one need for an answer. And it's two words. "God is." That's all you need in an argument. All you'll ever need. Why? Because they cannot argue the point. Period. They'll try to attack His nature with "witty" things such as "If God were real, then why are there so many deaths and sicknesses in the world?" and of course the answer is "God is." It can't be argued. Period. There is no argument to bring him to Christianity. In closing, if your friend's world falls apart, my brother, he'll be faced with a choice. Either to let his faith go and find a new truth or to cling to his truth and hope that "nothingness" ends very soon... God bless... Have a good day... You say that if there were no God, there would be no need for morality. But atheism is living your life the best you can, as morally as you can, not because you should be doing it for God, but because it's the right thing to do. I think you should learn more about atheism before you criticize it. However, it's probably best to get the information from an actual atheist, as many sites about atheism are not written by ateists and are incorrect in certain areas.

The Noble Protoman.exe Zher What I got out of this is that I cannot change his beliefs and his is doomed to go to hell, I will not believe that. If that is not what you meant, my apologies. He is actually saying to tolerate your friend's choice, which is also a bad idea. That is exactly what I am saying. Each is entitled to their own beliefs, are they not?

I went to Church last Sunday (first time sense Easter), and God told me something through the Pastor.
Say "A" is being far away from God, and "Z" is accepting him, sometimes all you need to do is take somebody from "A" to "B".

I totally know what you mean about your friend. i have a friend who is the same way (with the metal too). every once in a while, i'd start talking about something that had to do with church or god, and he'd laugh it off or just ignore it. he never listened. then i started to think that i'd never get through to him, ever, and that it was foolish to try. so i stopped. but looking back now, i realize that he's changed a lot for the better since i've known him, and even if he doesn't become a christian while i know him, maybe he will later. i just might not be the person to finally get through to him. so don't let it discourage you or frustrate that your friend doesn't seem to be listening. people change. what you need to do is keep being his friend, and maybe eventually he'll see that you have something he's missing.

ill make it simple if you want him to believe dont shove the word down his throat. "Live the life then preach it" the bible says to serve others. serve him yes he doesnt believe. the bible doesnt say serve only believes it says serve others. live a christian life and show him that our redeemer lives. i hope this helps slowly kind of sneek that christian stuff in but dont shove it down his throat and always pray for him and pray that god will use you to disciple to him in a way he wants you to.

The important thing is not to force it on your friend, you will be persecuted and made fun of your beliefs(spelling??) the Bible says that. Keep praying for your friend, this may seem hard and crazy but perhaps ask your friend if you could pray over him. Set an example b the way you live, eventually he will come to Christ, remember God has a plan for him, and he is going to accept Christ in God's time not yours. but let's say he wants you to do something you know is wrong say no i don't want to do that because i want to honor my God.
The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good. Psalm 14:1

I'm sorry to say that this won't help anyone...
You're only bashing Atheism, and standing up for Christianity, which is what this kid has been doing the entire time, and so far, has had no success.
And Zher, Eaten By Cheese's first post in this thread has it correct, both you and your friend are incredibly stubborn, and you're not gonna get him to believe.
You arguing will only make him more of an Atheist, he'll preform research, on your religion, try to find the weaknesses in it, and only spread Atheism to others with that knowledge, you're better off just not talking about religion with him.
Also, with your need to find him a Christian band, I suggest you tell him it's Christian when you tell him about it, that way you're being a good friend and not playing unfairly in sneaking a "Trojan horse" into his "base". ...and they want their oil back.

Its great that you are trying to convert him to Christianity, but if it doesn't happen, just respect that he has different beliefs. Find that in your differences you can make you friendship grow. Pray for him and care for him and all will be well if you make it to be that way.

Why? If he doesn't believe in God, then he doesn't believe, simple as that. It's a human opinion, and it's just as valid as yours. So why not respect it and be his friend instead of trying to make him do something he doesn't want to? And if God loves everyone, why would he damn people who try to exercise free will and opinion?
