SunflowerGoddess Harra_Wizen Eh.... I really don't have any sort of religion.... I don't care for anything mainstream (but I have close friends who are Christian, and a friend of mine and his younger sister who are Jewish) but really, I don't really have one, I'm not really trying to think about it so much. But really, I don't hurt others for their beliefs, I just don't like Christianity because of what they say about those who don't believe in Jesus not going to Heaven.... And I have many friends who don't believe in Him.... I don't want them being damned.... I was once Christian, and this is what they taught me.... I know many Christians who do not believe this, even some of the more "strict" ones. Those Christians are probably doing it wrong. Take a look at this. http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=22055569

Right, I saw your name when looking at the forum and I thought that the name looks familiar. I'm in GAU too.
I don't have a religion. I don't think that atheism counts as a religion. It's just one single belief (or rather, lack thereof).

Christians have different beliefs in the way things should be handled, there are thoes more passive ones that are cool with everybody, but still uphold their relegion, basically people whom you'd think as cool people, really relaxed and nice to hangout with, then there are people who see one little thing wrong and immediately you get a book slammed against your head because it isn't documented in the bible. For thoes who don't understand, there are two kinds of Christians, passive, and active, Passive: Their cool with other relegions Active: Their the more moody ones that'll be on your a** 24 7 over something stupid and preach how your a hellspawn and your going to burn for all eternity. Passive= Good Christians Active= Bad Christians God taught us Christians to love one another, no matter whom the person is and what they have done in the past, or like one of my friends says, "Hate the sin, not the sinner." More of the active Christians don't understand this, they have a good heart, but just don't know how to voice it in a way that will help what they want, in saving more people from burning in hell.

I don't follow an organised religion, but I have my own personal belief system, a very loose mix of modern Wiccan-based beliefs, plus common-sense morals(you don't need to be christian, for instance, to think that most of the ten commandments are worth following). I'd term it 'eclectic pagan', if I had to label my beliefs.

After much trudging through my thoughts, I came to the conclusion that I believe in good ol' science. There is no God, only physical, biological and social principles that control the world. The amount of in-depth explanations might as well be infinite, and although Humankind may never be able to fully understand everything, we can understand a big portion of that knowledge. Therefore, the scientific principles that rule this world would be the source of "infinity" that so much people like to see in any religion.
As for my principle and foundation, being an atheist, I came with a friend to the conclusion that what powers my life is love. Love towards my friends, my girls, my family, the people, and my land. I believe in true love, I'm a hopeless romantic, and I believe that this feeling can make our society a better place. Beauty is also what powers my life: I would really like to experience beauty in all its manners, and this is one of the purposes of my life. That's what I call sweet. heart

I thought I'd update this thread. I've acquired some more labels since my last posting.
My official title, at present, is: irreligious atheistic agnostic. Although I did take this on-line quiz once that declared me a Wiccan*. (Because I ticked "strongly agree" for the question "do you like cats?")
*I know that on-line quizzes are freguently unreliable. I also realise that this quiz, in particular, was tremendously flawed. But random information about your guild-mates is fun, right?

If I had to pick a title I guess i'd go with agnostic. I'm not all that sure about there being a God but if there is one, cool. I'm open to learning about other religions and seeing what people believe and why. Most of the time I find I agree with that they think on some level, maybe not to the same extent as they do though.
I get really bothered by 'active' religious people. Sure, I don't believe exactly the same thing they do but i'm willing to listen and learn. Learn, you hear me? Learn, not convert. I get hassled by so many people because I won't join their church/religion after listening to them. Is that really so terrible?
