I'd like to know what I can do to improve this guild. When I started this guild I was hoping for a nice place for parents to come and discuss parenting and even just hang out as friends (thus the out-of-parent sub-forum).
Recently it's been less active, and there are people that join, post a few times and leave. As well as those that join and do not post.
I'm not saying this to whine or complain, but because I genuinely want to improve this guild and make it a nice place on Gaia for all my members. Any suggestions that you have I would love to hear.
Post 'em here or if you'd rather my inbox is always open to my members.
Thanks. heart

I notice with all the guilds I am a part of that sometimes they are all just slow. I don't think there really is a lot a person can do to always have it bopping along. I think you are doing a fantastic job Jenn!! biggrin

I'm new here. I think as more of us parents or adults discover Gaia, we'll gain members. It took me a couple of weeks poking around Gaia to find out how to search for the interests & such. I'm looking forward to chatting around.

I dunno how to improve the guild. I know on the mothers forum I am on there are threads to discuss our newborns and toddlers, so maybe threads could be started to discuss that? Then again some might be hesitant since this is a public guild. Honestly I dont post to much because I dont see any threads where I can just go to chat. In my opinion its just a place for Q&A and when the question is answered I dont really see a reason to post?
Maybe some threads can be started to discuss accomplishments of our babies, when they reach milestones, or just to brag. Maybe a pictures thread if some feel comfortable posting pics. Maybe a complaining thread where mom's can come to vent/get out frustrations. Or just to complain about how hard the night was last night or the day or potty training or whatever. Maybe a PPD thread to discuss if you might have that or the sadness your feeling at that time. Those are the things that come to mind for right now.

 Thanks tooomuchtym.
Pinke: First off, thanks for the feedback. *hugs* I'm always happy to see members starting up threads. I do have a preggers chat thread, but if you or somone else wants to start up a baby thread and/or a toddler thred that would be fine with me.
Even with a private guild anyone would be able to view the posts (just not post in the threads). I don't think that a Hidden guild would work well... But thank you, I hadn't thought about that.
So do you think that a chatterbox type of thread would be nice? I did make the out-of-parent chatter for that kind of thing. Would it be better if I just made a general chat thread? Should I keep the sub-forum and add a thread here the main forum?
There is a Milestones thread. We have two picture threads: Family Portraits: Family/Children pics & Post pictures of yourself. Do you think that we need more? There is a Depression thread. Having had PPD as well as depression, I think that the two can be discussed together.
I want to get more subforums as well. I've considered: • Pregnancy • Infancy & Breast Feeding • Potty Training • a thread or subforum for advertisments. • Play Room - For people to just have their own thread (one thread per person). Maybe make an introduction in the first post and then people can give updates on how they are doing with TTC/Pregnancy?Children's accomplishments, etc. I'm not sure if something like this would help or not though.
