That doesnt seem like great advice. Because if something does happen between him and the guy his friends will be a lot more pissed off that he didnt tell them but someone else.

1: Hold a large cutlery knife whilst you tell them. If they have the balls to make fun of you about it you can change that fact rather quickly.
But Seriously,
If you're ashamed of telling your friends your gay, then maybe there is something else going on you need to be working through. Maybe you aren't afraid of telling your friends. Maybe you still aren't sure. And you know once you tell your friends, it will become fact. Whether its true or not, word will spread across the school and ou're wondering if owning up to one small and possibly untrue fact is really worth changing your high school life over. If this is the truth, you need to spend some time in serious self reflection and make sure you absolutely know who you are and your orientation.
