Anyone ever been to it or heard of it. It was brought to my attention by another Gaian here. She sent me a link to a thread started by someone I used to watch at deviantart.
snapesnogger is the arist who started this thread. She's pretty well known at DA and her art, I think is pretty incredible. The folks at concept art sure didn't think so. They tore her art apart and she did not take it well mostly because I'm sure she's not used to negative critiques. They really aren't too kind to any mediocre artists from what I could tell.
I thought about joining to have some of my work critiqued but I don't think I could handle what they dish out. Although I have been looking for a place that will give real, honest to goodness critiques and not just a pat on the head like I get from DA.
Sorry. I don't have the link to that particular thread anymore.

It looks like such a superficial site... I mean... with their 'battle' thing... You can't even see the picture very well, and they're.... And sexist, too...
Yeah. Looks like a crappy site for elitist pig-barf-bags to go on ego trips and rain down sadistic insults on other artists they percieve as being 'inferior'. Possibly just because they don't use that comic-book-influenced style that they seem to favor. Geekbutts.

So it's a place that's good for either good artists or people that want to be critized. Hmm. It does sound like a cool site but I do feel sorry for you friend there. It's hard to be brutally critized, especially if you're not used to it. gonk

I've never heard of the site before but like Blackrose said, I wouldn't make it out there. If a great artist like snapesnogger got ripped art there, I wouldn't last a second. xDD
Eh, personally I favor SheezyArt over DeviantArt but they don't usually give out critiques as well. It's kind of a 'nicer' dA in a way.

I haven't looked at the site, but my first reaction is relief. It's good to know that there are some honest critics out there. Only through change can there be growth. And, usually, change only comes from hearing what others really think. So yay.
-edit- Okay, I've looked at the site, and all I can say is that I am in full support of what it is offering. I don't really understand what the problem seems to be, because this looks like an awesome web site, to me.

To bad the poll is closed because I've heard of that site. Most of my personal friends are big posters there...i'm just a lurker.

Eh, haven't heard of it, don't plan on looking.
That's got to suck having your own art ripped to pieces... I've had it happen, and someone draw all over my art in pen. It hurts, pisses you off, and you feel horrible.
So I can understand where's she's coming from.

Yeah, they accept the best of the best sort of thing (even though I don't like all of their art).
Did snapesnogger go to some kind of art school? I'm guessing conceptart.org's standards are high- like professional level high. Oh, and maybe they were looking at the concept in her art too so maybe it wasn't all about her skills. Sometimes fantastic artists do some really boring work concept-wise.
