Hope this isn't inappropiate...I was just brought to the light about this "rori-kon" thing. It surprised me and for the people who don't know what I am talking about I recently read an article about Japanese men, (could be just men in general in Japan) are able to look at magazines with teenage girls (school girls) in "sexy" positions and as long as no pubic hair is shown. The girls can have sex with the men or sell them pictures for tons of Yen.
Now, I am sure this is true, I just want to know more about it before I just hop into Japan as an exchange student for a program in my school. Not saying that it will happen to me, I just don't want to be surprised or approached...

But seriously, old-perverted-guys get me mad =___=
Because they dun have their own woman to satisfy them at night =P
So they put themselves on lower levels and become sick ***** think that they can get a young chick, especially by bribing them with cash??? Yeah sometimes it works, but it's like constantly feeding gas to a car that never stops drinking, and using up more and more of your money. Money WILL eventually run out my friends =P...

Interesting. It really caught me off guard because we have a few kids from Japan in our school and one girl said that she actually participated in sex with the older men and that it wasn't a big deal considering the fact he was paying her quite a lot of money.

It's legally the same as an younger person dating another one. Sex can certainly happen, but it is not expected, and thus the people involved can sidestep the legalities of such things. Youth is highly valued in the Japanese culture, traditionally, as it is in most others. There's good reason most leads in anime and live action are not older than 25, or 30. Although sometimes people date within their age group, and are happy with that. I personally think it's due to the Green Grass syndrome(from the familiar saying), in that they see something that looks better than what they have, and are willing to pay whatever price, to be with such people. Oh, and by the way, the proper English term is Loli-con, and what she describes would be called Enjo Kousai(words link to articles, with further information on each subject)
