Well, if the "Powers that Be" would stop screwing over the poor in favor of the rich, our economy wouldn't be as freaked out as it is. Then again, we also import more than we export, so we're in a constant cycle of damage.
And if you move to another state, I think the benefits become null and void. I could be wrong, but I think that's the system.

I'm pretty sure you're right, WtmH. It's unfortunate, and sad that equality and human decency for others are being forgotten or ignored because of economic or religious reasons, but that's what America gets for voting in a warmonger/moron in for round two.
Have any of you considered that this is the new "Separate but Equal?" (Go to the thread with that name in the Life Issues sub forum, for more info.)

Hey, stupid people deserve a stupid president. And everyone else can move to Canada. At least elections are coming, so we have at least have a pick of candidates, however competent or otherwise.
It is definitely the new "Seperate but Equal".
I'd like to point out to any moron who insists that America is a Christian country: This country was built the way it was BECAUSE of religious intolerance that was inflicted by the English Church. Almost every founding father was a believer in Dieism.
Dieism, for those who don't know, is the belief in a singular diety or entity that is not restricted by any organized religion. While our founding fathers might have been influenced by the Judeo-Christian faiths, they were in no way, shape or form practitioners.

I think you mean "Deism". And actually, ALL the founding fathers were philosophical Christians, (even Benjamin Franklin, who comes close to being my favorite person ever) meaning that they had their own beliefs but didn't force them down the public throat, so to speak. Deism is not a religion, but rather is defined by the abject lack of religion, while retaining a belief in god. Often, Deists also say that there must have been a god in the beginning, but now he's indifferent to the universe. It is often confused with Weak Atheism, which suggests there was never a god, or that the world now lacks one.
Funny. Canada has legalized gay marriage, but not gay divorce.... sweatdrop

Thanks for the corrections, Leavaros. Gay divorce isn't legal? That's a little....weird.

No problem. Thanks for not getting all 'I-know-I-can't-be-wrong' on me. Yeah, I heard about it on LOGO. -LD
