It feels good being victorious in battle, and even if the only thing to show for it is a pile of rubble and a make shift bridge then damn it that was enough for Quin as he made his way along the bridge and towards the other side. Shou along with him.

The half-golem followed behind Quin, rubbing his neck a little with his right. "I've got some more food in this pack, y'need anything to eat?" Idle conversation for the trek.

themightyjello One of the UGH troops in the ruins radioed in to the others in the Vale. " Peculiar situation encountered. Ambush suspected. Requesting additional support. Over." Jacob's radio is what brought him to his senses. The right side of his face was bandaged heavily, wrapping all around his head and neck. He'd been up for a few hour, recovering, getting his bearings. He'd been hit hard.At this point, though, he felt well enough to kill. The position was still lightly fortified: he retrieved a rifle and pistol, an automatic, from the armory there before taking some painkillers and moving to the front of the fortification. He'd watch before moving across the bridge, or not.

The men remaining on the bridge sent two out to investigate the little fireballs dancing over the lake.
They were wary, but did not see them as threats just yet.

At this point, Jacob moved out onto the bridge proper, having the rifle raised. The lights were on the lake, and the UGH and SMC troops were still in the ruins. That meant someone was showing up either from the sky, or the same way Jacob had.
He was looking out into the waters beyond, close enough to spot a sudden sudden new light flash into and out of existence (attack to Mozz's bridge). At this, Jacob crouched, removed the weapons safety, and prepared to fire at any unwelcomes that came down. If they simply crossed and attacked, he'd be only a quick jog from either side.

The men returned to their place at the east shore, with a bulldozer set up to block the path through the barricades.
They'd wait until they recieved orders... or until a threat popped up.

Jacob lowered the rifle and moved to the ruins side of things at a run.
This wasn't going anywhere fast. [Ruins]

(Last night) Lakeside Ruins ->
Ji Long went to take a swim in the lake. Though of course, that was like... ten hours ago or something. So instead, he was laying in wait, hiding underneath the floating debris of the bridge. And yes, he would not be wrinkly because the suit that he wore covered his body and kept water out.
He let the battle begin, letting the forces clash together and be still, held down in the fighting before he radioed into base to get the location of the forces under the Skinner Mining Company.

After assessing the situation with the gathered infirmation that was radioed back, he let the current take him down the river as he went below the surface as the chameleon suit engaged and the CORE system turned on.

For Vahn's reference:
The bridge was little more than floating debris crowding the lake; enough so that one could climb from piece to piece and get across.
At the eastern shore, a barricade had been built to keep enemy forces from using the bridge to cross. It consisted of a large dirt wall with one pass through. Outside of this was a dug moat, inside of this was a dug trench. There was one path, which was blocked by a parked bulldozer.
Behind the barricade, 7 troops stood guard.

With a dashing leap, followed by a boosting second jump in mid-air through a small pocket of heat formed by his greaves, Vahn was able to clear a good distance along the makeshift bridge.
Landing with a soft thudd, and causing one end of the "raft" to be tilted up, Vahn wavered on the edge a bit, before regaining his balance.
He was soon off running carefully along now, literally following his "all-seeing" eye and heading for where the biggest mass of heat signatures were coming from.

There was a campfire on the other side of the barricade. Men were making coffee. They liked their damn coffee.
One man was sitting atop the dirt wall as a spotter, but not doing a very good job. He was half asleep and not really paying attention... until the hard crack of wood against greave was heard.
"Huh..." he mumbled, looking over... then his eyes widened.
"JESUS ******** CHRIST! SOMEONE SET US UP THE VAHN!"

His left eye narrowed, even as the makesifht barricade came into view.
Even with the crude wall erected, he could see the body heat coming from behind said wall. It was then he heard the shout.
All your base is belong to me.
Still moving from flotsam to flotsam, Vahn hefted the Fang with his left hand, before letting it loose, swinging downward with a strike-- similar in stance to what he had done at the ruins. "HRRUGH!"
A much noticeably weaker vaccuum force was unleashed, ripping up the rest of the bridge ahead of Vahn and splitting the water before passing right between the opening in the wall, which exploded outwards, before ending against the bulldozer.
A heavy moan of metal and the bulldozer would have found itself forced back and actually tipped onto it's side, its frame dented and smelted in from the force of impact.
At that time Vahn would have leapt off the last bit of the bridge, landing on solid ground and dashing forward, through the commotion and past the guards who were hopefully still shitting their pants.
By now his path should have been obvious.
He had a penchant for blowing stuff the ******** up.

The flotsam went airborne. As did the dirt wall. As did the guy on top of it.
"WE HAVE NO CHANCE TO SURVIVE! MAKE OUR TIME!"
Clearly, he was mad with fright.
The bulldozer took a full force hit, and though it wasn't junked by it, the paint burned and peeled, and the force knocked it back a few feet... destableizing the dirt underneath, and causing it to tip sidelong into the trench that had been dug beside it.
Everyone else was shitting their pants going: "WTF!?"
