I've been trying to hook everyone I can, VM cannot make it on last years ratings this time.

Some things that are helpful:

Critics- Finding some good critic quotes from impressive sources such as the "One of the 6 best dramas" from Time makes it seem more respectable.

It also helps if they follow a certain critic like E!'s Kristin, TV Guide's Matt Roush, Mike Ausiello or Angel Cohn or Daniel Manu, TV Gal at Zap2it, or someone else that really loves the show

Famous Fans- Do they love Lost? Lost creator/producer/writer Damon Lindelof loves VM.

Gilmore Girls? Gilmore Girls creator/ex-producer Amy Sherman-Palladino also loves VM.

Sarah Dessen (writer of Someone Like You, That Summer, This Lullaby and some others) has been gushing about it in her blog. Then there's the other ones that are pretty well known for liking VM like Joss Whedon, Stephen King, and Kevin Smith.

If they are Degrassi fans this quote from Kevin Smith could be helpful: "... the most engaging new show I’ve seen since Degrassi: The Next Generation...”

Wording - It also helps to mention things like acting and witty dialogue and stay away from the teen solves mystery thing unless the idea would appeal to them.

Damage Control - If they have seen Pulse and didn't like Kristen so much, use the fact that critics think her performance wasn't to impressive because she didn't have good material to work with and many television critics love her.

I've been giving it as much ratings as I can using Nielson this summer. I guess I've probably given them about 100,000 people worth of ratings each episode (and there's 2 episodes per week here). I thought each "light" represents 10,000 people but my dad thinks they each represent 30,000 people and there's 8 "lights" so I'm not really sure.

I've been trying to get people to watch it but they arn't giving in. And the problem is that a lot of people I know are going to university within a week so they most likely won't have tv. I'll use your suggestions for whoever I know who'll still have tv though.

I try to talk about it with friends who already are fans and the ones who aren't eventually start watching it on their own. plus with the seasons coming out on DVD so soon before the new season it's easy to get them hooked on it. It also helps if they aren't fiercly addicted to House. Especially if they don't have TiVO.

There is something that I think everyone should take a minute to go do. Go to the link at the bottom of this post and fill out the "Tell me what to watch" form on Ellen's website. Don't underestimate the influence that she has on her viewers.

I think we are getting more people checking it out just by using these forums!!!!!!1

Well according to the ratings for last week's episode, we're not. I'm hoping that they were low because the episode was available online and that they will raise this week.

Happy Halloween!

I try to get my best friend to watch it, and she wants to, but she has to go to bed right when it comes on. crying

I turn it on just so it's on in case I have a counter thing in my TV so they know I watch it. =P (I'm not sure if they count it if you watch it on DVR.)

If you had a box you'd know. Though if you ever do get selected to be a Nielsen family, they do count DVR if you watch it on the same day it airs I believe. This is a new thing though so I don't know all the details.

My best friend just borrowed my season one of the show and he's hooked and I've gotten my grandmother hooked too. It's not hard to do when the show is so good. I used to think it was hard, but now that Veronica is really hanging on the ratings I'm done lollygagging. I'm campaigning.

You know, Michael Ausiello at tvguide is trying to hook people on Veronica Mars with his column. So if you know anybody who is a fan of one his favorite shows (lost, grey's anantomy, gilmore girls, house, prison break, desperate houswives, etc.) maybe it might help if you kinda drop a few hints that he also likes Veronica Mars. They're never going to get 22 episodes if we don't get out of 6th in the overnights.

Yes and we so NEED those 22 episodes. I don't want the series to end in the middle of a mystery. Veronica should live on FOREVER!!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

THIS is how i got 2 of my most stubborn friends hooked. The first one was kind o feasy and after we finished the first show and I asked if she wanted to see the second she said yes. =] I had hooked her. Then the next one was worse. I pretended to put in a movie and she went to the bathroom. It wasn't until I had already pressed play on the first episode that she noticed we weren't watching the movie. And she laughed but went along with it and has wached every episode since.

My other friend was willling.
oh em gee, she is soooooo addicted.

Mhm. I got my friend hooked by bringing her over to watch Gilmore Girls and forcing her to stay until Veronica Mars ended by persuading her she won't have to do her homework until later x]
