I think understanding it's shape is paramount to hypothisising how it works. Does that mean all supernatural elements lie outside the atmosphere?

Such is the implication of that model. It would make some sense, though I don't think global warming is really an issue (now I've opened a can of worms...).
I've got logical proof, and humorous proof, to the effect that global warming is really more natural than we think it is.
That is all a side topic anyway.
I am interested in the idea of an energetic sphere though. Perfect shape and form, only variant being the density. The idea has potential.
edit:
doesn't it sort of make you wonder: could the veil just be a massive psi-ball?

The entire universe and possibly beyond). Think of the other side and the veil itself to be right there *points randomly*.....annnddd..there...and there...and there *still pointing randomly xD *. My point is *looks at his pointer finger* er...is that it's all around us, not 3 ft above the ground, not around the earth, but all around us entirely. We just simply cannot make a big enough tear to pass through it so we bend it around us when we move. Example of what I mean: Oxygen, it's all around us, it has no shape, but it's there; We pass through it all the time.
