They're really isn't really much like them. I can recommend some bands, but nothing extreamly Dir en grey like.
Metallica - Rocks some socks.
Nine Inch Nails - If you aren't afraid of sexual songs. haha
Korn - Just put out a new CD that is really good.
The Pink Spiders - Nothing at all like Dir en Grey, but they're really good, and I'd tell anyone to listen to at least one song to give them a try.
Thats just a few bands I listen to that you may find interesting. ^_^

Wisse I agree that Rammstein is nice. Also a German band called Oomph! is awesome in my opinion. ^___^ Omg I love them ^_^

Well...no one can beat Diru but if you like awesome guitar work like Diru's then check out Avenged Sevenfold ^__^
Rammstein is awesome and theyre German

Well, not rly. People like me and Diru. I think I said this already, but it's like this:
"Hey, I like Dir en Grey."
"Who?"
"Dir en Grey. They're Japanese."
"Oh. Cool... *psst, I have a friend who likes Japanese music*"
My friends like them, they just don't... listen to them. I give them my headphones and they say, "I like it." Except that one guy who got all obsessed with them because of Shinya(The DRUMMING skills, it had nothing to do with crossdressing eek ).

Isn't that always the case though? When you give a non-Deg-fan your headphones and tell them to listen, they'll naturally say 'It's cool' or 'I like it' or 'Interesting', if they know you're into it. Heheh one of my friends let another of my friends borrow her entire Dir en grey music collection. My other friend went to bed listening to it, and woke up at about 5am to the sounds of 'I'm sorry, I didn't mean it! I'll be good.......I'm gonna kill you...I'm gonna blow your head off like raspberry jam...' I don't think she's listened to Dir en grey since. xd sweatdrop

Doctor Tohma Kirimoto Well I know this really awesome band Rammstein, but they're German. sweatdrop There's Children Of Bodom... but the only awesome song that is awesome by them is one called "Six Pounder". That's a great song. It sounds a lot like "Byou [] Shin". Sort of. ninja My sister, who is an awesome "punk rocker" of sorts, likes Mudvayne and KoRn and... Slipknot or something. But I don't really like them... I guess there really is nothing like Dir en Grey. Rammstein... they're more industrial, I'd say... but it's good to meet somebody who has heard of both Rammstein and Dir En Grey. I love Rammstein!!! And of course I love Dir En Grey!! But, there really isn't anything that is like Dir En Grey, that's why they rock!! 3nodding

Whenever I let someone listen to Diru, I get one of two reactions
1. "Oh! They're so awsome! Will you burn me every single one of their CDs with your own blank CDs for free and spend an hour of your time doing it?"
Or
2. "...They're really scary. Wtf is wrong with them?!?!"
@A_Life_of_Wandering: I like Avenged's guitarists, I mean they are amazing after all, but they have a fundamentally different sound then Diru. They're more of the Americanized 'let's make lots of squealy noises come out of the guitar because it sounds cool and shows off our fancy fingerwork' than the actually crafted and artistic sounds that we see from Kaoru, Die and Totchi (yes, even Totchi. If you listen to the bass, it's truely amazing, and not that many people do). Kirimoto My friends like them, they just don't... listen to them. I give them my headphones and they say, "I like it." As to the Rammstein comments...I used to like them, but I've really gotten sick of them >> They don't have that really touching sound that I love about Dir en grey (not that comparing them to Diru is the reason I don't like them anymore, I just got sick of them).
