GETTING ORDER ORGANIZED

[ DISCORD SERVER ]

Overview: In wake of an absolute disaster, Celadon is helping organize interested Order members into more effective teams. These teams are based on the participants' strengths and philosophies to try to minimize discord.

ICly, teams will each have a focus (like improving technology or getting people trained). Characters can join as many teams as they feel they can support. All teams will routinely meet to share progress and challenges. Teams will be described in more detail here.

OOCly, I am coordinating the teams to ensure they sustain momentum. I will supply prompts and suggestions so that teams feel a sense of progress and accomplishment. If participating players have ideas that require a mule submission, I am here as a resource to help mitigate any barriers to getting those ideas submitted and workshopped.

This is a longitudinal plot, meaning it will not happen in the span of a few weeks like a more traditional event. Also unlike a traditional event, characters will not become unavailable due to participating in this plot, and if a character becomes unavailable due to another plot, this will not compromise their integrity to this plot. Since this plot focuses on team-building, I will be actively supporting this plot for several months.

If you are interested, please read on!

Prompts and Current Events

Currently:
  • The first meeting has concluded. Characters are forming groups based on what was brought up at the meeting.
  • Coordinators and ferriers are forming up in each of the groups.
  • Prompts are being drafted for each of the groups.
  • Another meeting will be held sometime in mid-April depending on IC and OOC factors.

Prompts:

    Coordinators:

    • You volunteered, or were asked, or were picked to support a team. That means helping them make their dreams a reality, or finding people who can. It means helping them workshop ideas when they get stuck. It means being there when they need someone, or coordinating with other teams when an idea gets too big for your team alone. How do you plan to support your group? What experiences or skills have you had that might see their efforts come to fruition?

    • It's time to set your first group meeting. Will you be going to space, or choosing a safe place in Destiny City? What topics do you want to cover? Are there any projects in the works that you want to showcase to the rest of the group? Does your group already have some momentum, or is everyone at a loss of what to do and looking to you for some direction?

    Ferriers:

    • You were going to take your team up to your home world/wonder so they could meet and discuss their findings. Perhaps you take them, but you encounter a strange and violent thunderstorm somewhere nearby. See the meta prompt posted here for more details.

    • Now you know that people will be coming to your home world/wonder as a safe space to make progress for Order on a whole. Do you think your home world/wonder is in an appropriate condition to receive guests? If so, where would be the most welcoming place to take them? What is it like? And if not, what do you plan on doing to make it more hospitable? Or do you think your guests need to learn to tough it out?

    Trainers:

    • Maybe you want to start with the basics. There's a lot of new faces out there, and that's a lot of opportunity to lay the groundwork for some basic combat techniques. Before anyone gets into casting fancy magic and punching up, they need to know how to dodge and block and actually punch without breaking their hand. How would you want to spread that knowledge, though? Would you want them powered up and out on your ferrier's home world/wonder? Or would it be better to teach a class as a group of civilians? How would you get the word out? And how do you facilitate them practicing safely?

    • Eventually, your allies will have to learn how to fight people with unknown magic, who might even be able to teleport. How do you prepare them for this? Are there any thoughtful counters you can think of for any magic that's been listed in the Order database? Are there some counters that might work for all magic? If they do get hit with magic they've never encountered before, how might they weather it?

    • The Negaverse can be deadly. Everyone knows it. They've got lethal weapons, they've got the ability to teleport, and they can pull starseeds if their target isn't transcended. Make no mistake, there's a lot to unpack when one has to go toe-to-toe with them. So, how do you counter all of that? Could you figure out ways to get them to waste their energy? Or, perhaps, could you divest them of their weapons?

    Info gatherers:

    • One of the points Halle brought up in conversation is that senshi and knights aren't familiar enough with each other's magic to know how to fight well together. How would you facilitate correcting this? Do you focus on cataloguing their magic and its parameters? What about senshi and knights' demeanor toward combat? What else might be helpful to know about your allies?

    • Maybe it's time that senshi knew where and how to contact a Mauvian. What if there was a Mauvian directory for all their senshi needs? Or, for knights, what if there was a list of knights willing to mentor new knights and teach them about the Code and wonders and such?

    • There's a lot of information that Order people just don't know or that has gotten lost over the years. Yes, there's a senshi primer, but that document hasn't been updated in a while. Do you think it's important to keep everyone up-to-date on these things? If so, what information do you think is most pertinent to share? And how do you disseminate it? Do you coordinate with the technologists to roll something out?

    • It's good for Order to learn more about each other, but it's just as important that they learn as much as they can about Chaos. How do you plan to go about that? Do you persuade them to talk to you? Do you bait them into a fight and take note of what magic they employ or how they use their weapons? Or do you have other ways of learning about them without their knowing?

    Strategists:

    • Info gatherers are working on collating known information about your allies. Some of them are working on learning about your enemies. Your job is to discern how your enemies work in tandem. What are some of the big battles that you've seen or participated in? How did the enemy work together? Were they successful? What, if anything, stopped them? And what patterns do you see, if those same enemies popped up again later?

    • There's no shame in starting on the beginnings of a plan to strike back. It's going to take time, imagination, and a lot of coordination. That said, what would you dream up as a good first victory? What do you think you'll need to accomplish this? Would you need to coordinate with other teams to make it happen? How would you prepare other Order members to make this victory a possibility?

    • Maybe you think it's best to focus on getting together a good defense before anyone pins their hopes on an offense. What do you see as opportunities in shoring up Order's defenses? Where are people getting picked off or corrupted, and what would put a stop to it? And how would you implement these changes, or convince others to implement them?

    Technologists:

    • Solaris suggested that one of their first places to look for new technology may be their homeworlds and wonders. Do you go? What do you find there? Have the ominous storms referenced in the Order meta prompt (seen here) found their way to your world/wonder?

    • One of the main points in the group meeting was that many senshi and knights – particularly the newer ones – don't know about some of the apps and updates available to them. What do you think would be the best way to spread the word? How do you reach new senshi or knights as they are awakened? Or do you instead focus on normalizing the use of that technology?

    • Maybe, instead of having an eye for invention, you have an eye for improvement. Looking over all the technological options available to Order, what do you think could use an overhaul? How do you think that would improve Order's ability to work together?

    • How do you protect Order from Chaos? Maybe you're a dreamer, coming up with ideas like magical body armor or compact pieces of technology that might block a Negaverser from starseeding someone. Or maybe you're pretty practical, with an eye for repurposing available tech to foil an enemy's magic attack. Either way, it couldn't hurt to add a little more to Order's combat toolkit.

    Medics/protectors:

    • You have a big job ahead of you. Destiny City is a vast place, and so many of its civilians are being unwittingly drained or taken advantage of by the Negaverse and Dark Mirror Court. How do you plan on helping them? Are you taking or hosting first aid classes? Or self-defense classes? Are you organizing with your teammates to watch certain parts of the city? Something else entirely? Brainstorming (whether by yourself or with a teammate) is one of the first steps toward a safer city.

    • Not everyone has healing magic, so what are your thoughts on preparing other teammates to triage an emergency? What supplies would they need on hand? What training would they need?

    • What about more dire emergencies? What does your team think of making contacts in a hospital? Would it be better to do a mobile clinic?

    • Whatever methods you decide on, do you expand them to the rest of Order too? How might you reach other members of Order and loop them in? (This might look like distributing first-aid kits for everyone to store in their subspace, or distributing contact information in the event that a civilian is injured.)

Groups/Teams

[ TEAM MEMBER LISTING ]

This longitudinal plot involves organizing participating Order members into teams based on their aims, philosophies, and skillsets. Members may join multiple teams as long as they have the time and wherewithal to participate meaningfully. Each team has a defined central purpose and the ability to coordinate with other teams through their dedicated coordinators.

Teams are designed to have access to at least one safe space, be it off-world or on-world. Teams may also be able to access the Moon Palace or Olympus, if they have received approval to do so.

Teams/Roles:
  • Coordinator: The ones who help support a team and ensure that their team is well represented in bigger meetings. They are in charge of making sure their team has what they need to stay functional and productive. Coordinators also meet with each other so that teams can always support each other where needed. This is a leadership role.

  • Trainer: Seasoned fighters with experience on the ground. They will be coaching participants on combat and training them into the best shape possible. They may also use some of the info gathered on Order members to help them better coordinate in a fight.

  • Info Gatherers: Their job is to get info on the Negaverse and collate known info for the strategists by any means necessary. Info gatherers may also collate info on other Order members, such as what their magic is like, or necessary tidbits that would help people coordinate better in a battle.

  • Strategist: Plan the big counterstrike. May also separate participants into squads to practice together for the big day.

  • Technologists: The nerdy researchers who develop apps, create tech, and figure out ways in which space magic can better support Order folks. If other groups dream up a request, they may hand it off to the technologist group to see if it can be done.

  • Medics/Protectors: Medics may help patch up Order folks during/after battles, or may see to civilian wounded. Protectors are people who want to make sure civilians aren't harmed in big battles. They may also help in other ways, like distributing personal protection devices or teaching self-defense classes to the public.

  • Ferrier: People with robust histories with their home worlds/wonders who can ferry many participants and provide a safe space for training or planning. Also includes people who have safe spaces on Earth that people can use to crash for a night or have meetings.

FAQ

Do I need to join the Discord server to participate? No. The Discord server exists for convenience. Participants are free to plot through other channels, such as the Moonshop Discord server or another method of their choice.

I missed the initial ORP. Can I still join? Yes, players can join this plot at any time. Characters may hear about projects or groups from other characters and may participate to the extent that they see fit.

Does my character have to formally join a group to participate? No. Other characters can be tapped by groups as consultants, or may spontaneously work together at points with existing groups. The boundaries of this plot are necessarily lax for that purpose.

I want to participate, but I feel uncomfortable with (noun). Please reach out to me here or on Discord (strickenized) and I will see what I can do to help!
