Fluttershy enjoyed the sound of her mother’s hooves on the cobbled streets. She looked all around with wonder at the beautiful but small town. It was neatly arranged and every building had character. This town seemed peaceful and it was very pretty. Leading outside of the stone walls surrounding it were arches that opened to neat roads and paths surrounded by green hills and fields, and plenty of trees. Fluttershy felt a little better upon seeing more of the world she was living in. She hadn’t known anything outside of the back yard and the orphanage’s walls ever since she could remember being here.
She wondered if she ever had parents, what they looked like and where they might be. But nothing came to her mind. They reached the marketplace, full of stalls with colourful awnings and tables displaying wares, plus mini shops everywhere. “Oh, here we are!” The filly spoke quietly, looking around. “G-goodness, there are so many shops. This marketplace is so big…” she eeped, shyly hiding against Heart’s chest, a little overwhelmed. There was everything from hand crafted goods to special event items and even rare and expensive looking stuff.
Fluttershy would certainly need all the things for a baby. A crib or cradle would be a good idea to prevent her from falling out of bed if she rolled over in her sleep. It would make her feel safe and secure as well. They’d also need bedding and a mobile, a changing table and possibly a rocking chair and a toy box. Maybe Heart of Darkness already had a nursery set up for her daughter at home. Fluttershy didn’t know. She squeaked and hid her eyes behind her hands when Heart asked her if she got too excited “I..I…I-I’m sorry!” she said, “It just happens”
She felt very ashamed and embarrassed, guessing her Mommy knew what she did (partly because of her butt getting warm all of a sudden). But she peeked through her fingers at the words that followed, small tears of embarrassment in her eyes. “Y…y…you really don’t mind that I use them? I…if I don’t wear them, I h-have accidents. I…I..c-can’t control it” she admitted, blushing fiercely and sniffling. The diapers she wore had odour reducing technology and sweet perfume to them so for a normal human, there probably wouldn’t be any smell but…well, she and Heart were animal people, so naturally their senses were heightened.
Fluttershy nodded, hands still over her eyes and ears drooping. “U-umm…okay. B-but the people at the orphanage told me not to waste diapers, s…so you don’t have to change it unless they get really umm…s-soggy” she admitted. “A…and I’m n-n-not ummm…!” she got too flustered to speak, crying a little. New outfits would be nice but she was too embarrassed to think now. She didn’t even notice they had walked into the toy store because she had her eyes closed and covered. She hoped her new mommy didn’t think poorly of her.
Fluttershy gave a soft whimper as Heart gently told her to look at the toys. “H..uh?” she meekly uncovered her eyes and blinked at the shelves, wiping at her tears. “Oh…wow…! W-wait…I can really have five?! B-but that’s so many!”
