Occupation: Works at a nightclub in the "gayborhood" of Mayet as a bartender. He has been everything from a dog groomer to a clerk at an adult store before, though.
Hobbies:
Dining Out -- Buffy is a true gourmand; he loves fine food well prepared and appealing to both the eye and palate. Thing is, he can't be bothered to cook for himself very often, so he eats out a lot. He enjoys discovering new and interesting places to eat, and when it comes to food money is no object. Buffy is a fixture at some of the trendiest dining spots around Mayet, so much so that the maitre'ds and wait staff know him on sight. He customarily dines alone, though as gregarious and sociable as he is he'll happily drag a friend or two along to share the experience.
Club-hopping -- If there's one thing Buffy loves, it's clubbing. The music, the people, the dancing! He loves dancing, and even though he's a pretty terrible dancer, he doesn't care, he's having fun dammit! He has his favorite clubs just like he has his favorite restaurants, with the same sort of relationship with the staff -- even deeper, since he's a bartender now himself working at a nightclub. The opportunities for people-watching are fantastic too, because you get to see people at their most free and relaxed, for the most part.
Pros:
Bend Me Shape Me Adaptable -- Buffy is a master at flying by the seat of his pants. He's quick on his feet mentally, and loves change and challenging situations; he has held more and varied jobs since walking away from college at 19 than many people do in a lifetime. He considers himself a jack of all trades who believes specialization is for insects. Throw just about anything at him, and he'll adapt accordingly to deal with it.
Talk To Me, People Wildly Gregarious -- Oh goodness is this guy outgoing. Blessed with a strong personality, he's charming, affable, and people quite seem to like him. Buffy has a basically extroverted nature; he thrives on social situations regardless of whether he knows the people he's with or not. And usually if he doesn't know you at the start of the evening, you'll be his new friend by the time you leave. People and being social recharge him; he doesn't understand introverts, though he deeply respects their need for solitude.
We Can Work It Out Diplomatic -- One of the things that makes Buffy such a good bartender is that he's so good at de-escalation. He would rather talk his way out of a situation than fight; he's definitely a lover not a fighter, but he's very good at negotiating peace in a reasonable manner, as well as skilled at telling people to go to hell in such a way that they're looking forward to the trip. He can break up the rare altercation at his bar just by talking the combatants down and rarely has to call in the nightclub's bouncer.
Cons:
Heat Of The Moment Low Impulse Control -- If you look up "impulsive" in the dictionary, there will likely be a picture of Buffy there. An absolute neophile, he will try anything new once, twice if he likes it; and if he doesn't like it, out the window it goes. This goes for anything: jobs, people, restaurants, anything. He gravitates instinctively to the new and shiny, particularly the shiny, like a magpie. Shiny people especially.
Don't Push Me Stubborn -- Buffy is as stubborn as an old mule. Once he has set his mind on something, it's nearly impossible to get him to do anything else. He's deeply contrary, often doing the opposite of what someone wants him to do just because they want him to do it. Now if he had come up with the idea, it would be a different matter. This does seem to run opposite to his lack of impulse control, but it actually does go hand-in-hand; he changes his mind frequently, but once he's stuck on something, he's really committed.
Can't Hold Me Down Commitment-Phobic -- Speaking of commitment… Buffy has fallen too deeply in love with variety to commit to any one place or job. He's lived in four different apartments in the four years he's lived in Mayet and held about that many jobs. This also goes with his stubborn nature; once he decides to do something different, no amount of convincing will get him to just commit to the thing he's presently doing. This goes for relationships as well -- he goes through boyfriends like candy.
General Appearance Eyes: Purple, almond shaped, expressive and twinkling with mischief. Man-scapes a little, wears light makeup around his eyes to make them pop, mostly liner with a bit of shadow.
Hair: White, straight and stylishly shaggy, down to his waist. He likes to look like he just crawled out of bed after a very good night.
Face: Something of a heart-shaped face, clean shaven, with a straight nose and a cupid's bow mouth that's both pouty and smiling at the same time. He has small gauges in both ears.
Skin Tone: Fair and peachy (hex code #F6D3BD)
Body Type: He stands just a whisker taller than 6', quite slim and lanky -- he's no gym queen, though he does work out to keep himself toned and lean. His hands are long, elegant and expressive. He likes tattoos rather a lot and has a collection of them, from a full Japanese koi sleeve on his left arm to a traditional nautical-inspired sleeve on his right.
Clothes: Buffy dresses like a one-man Pride parade; he always has at least one item on him that's rainbow- or LGBTQ-themed, usually more. His usual attire is tees or tanks and jeans, though he's not afraid of booty shorts when it gets hot out. He enjoys hats too, and has quite the collection of baseball caps and other, fancier hats like Gatsby flat caps.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Timeline:
1999: born an early Christmas present to his parents, youngest of 5 siblings
2011: realizes he is gay, announces it loudly to his family, who take it surprisingly well
2012: enters high school a too-smart, bored gay kid
2016: graduates just as bored, but MUCH gayer; starts at MU as undeclared undergrad
2017: drops out of MU, starts work at McBurgers, lasts 5 months
2018: gets a job as a brusher-bather at a Mayet poodle parlor, becomes a dog groomer, lasts almost a year before starting as a shampooer at a hair salon
2019: becomes an apprentice hair stylist, quits after 2 months; starts as a clerk at an adult shop
2020: quits the adult shop, starts as barback at a gay nightclub, graduates to bartender
2021: present day
